I absolutely love the inside of this shop. It has a rustic feel, and is not bougie like others that I've been to. It's more of a Steel Magnolias "truvy type" salon. Midday, I receive a call cancelling because the "master" stylist , Mary S., "doesn't have clippers." That alone is absurd, but it gets worse. When I called back and spoke with MaryBeth, I asked the obvious question: does the stylist have scissors or a straight blade? Because anyone remotely competent knows a basic nape trim doesn't require clippers. Her response? The stylist "doesn't do short haircuts." So not only was the appointment accepted, confirmed, and held on the schedule, it was assigned to someone incapable--or unwilling--to perform a first-year cosmetology task. I went in person, hoping for some level of accountability, and spoke with Diamond, the store manager. She couldn't explain why the booking system allows clients to schedule services the staff won't perform. She also couldn't explain why not a single "experienced" stylist in the building could step in and complete one of the most basic haircuts imaginable. At every step--online system, staff communication, and in-store management--this was handled with a level of incompetence that would be comical if it weren't such a waste of time.
