I scheduled a simple nape trim at Ulta and even confirmed the appointment 24 hours in advance--apparently a meaningless exercise. Midday, I receive a call cancelling because the "master" stylist , Mary S., "doesn't have clippers." That alone is absurd, but it gets worse. When I called back and spoke with MaryBeth, I asked the obvious question: does the stylist have scissors or a straight blade? Because anyone remotely competent knows a basic nape trim doesn't require clippers. Her response? The stylist "doesn't do short haircuts." So not only was the appointment accepted, confirmed, and held on the schedule, it was assigned to someone incapable--or unwilling--to perform a first-year cosmetology task. I went in person, hoping for some level of accountability, and spoke with Diamond, the store manager. She couldn't explain why the booking system allows clients to schedule services the staff won't perform. She also couldn't explain why not a single "experienced" stylist in the building could step in and complete one of the most basic haircuts imaginable. At every step--online system, staff communication, and in-store management--this was handled with a level of incompetence that would be comical if it weren't such a waste of time. read more

I'm not one to purchase a lot of makeup, etc.; however, I must say they have an enormous variety of products to choose from, if you're looking for perfumes, makeup, lotions, etc. One could spend hours in there. One thing I want people to be aware of when looking for anything is the price. They tend to be a bit pricey for items where you can buy the same exact item on Amazon, for example. Sent my husband to get several items for me. He FaceTimed me before he walked in so I could direct him around and he was immediately met by a friendly associate who was more than happy to talk to me via FaceTime. She asked me about the items I needed and she took my husband directly to them. She also helped him around the app I had him download prior to leaving home with my Ulta account to make sure I got all the discounts and the two bonus items. I wish I had asked her name. I did, indeed, easily find what I went there for but the appeal of the store each time I visit keeps getting less and less. There were quite a few employees on the floor so I'm not sure why the store was so unkept. It's not the holiday season anymore. Well I went in for my Birthday. I wanted high lights, hair cut. I spent nearly 5 hours in that salon. I will not go back. My hair looks like a kindergartner has done my hair. The atmosphere was unpleasant. The stylist was making fun of a younger girls head. Said it looked like a Christmas tree. Very rude and unprofessional. My stylist did a rough cut at first before the highlights. That's how it was basically left. During the rinse it felt like she was ripping my scalp out. It hurt so much that I finally told her I can not use that kind of brush on my hair, I use the wet to dry ouch less, her comment, "yea, this one don't give" and continued to snag my hair and head. I look like a bottle blonde instead of highlights. My bangs have wings. I am so uneven. They refunded the $220 + dollars and offered to let me come in to have a senior stylist correct my hair. I'm scared to go back. I wear it up in a pony tail, I've had to deep condition often trying to keep it from breaking. It's been falling out with every wash and brush. I have yet to go back anywhere because number one, I don't trust anyone right now, two, I work 12-14 hour days And my time is precious. Just beware going to Ulta for hair appointments. I will not recommend to anyone. My coworkers noticed it first thing. Talk about embarrassing. It's ponytails all the time now until I can get this MESS fixed. She did a consultation with me regarding my cut and color as I have not had my haired colored in a few years and had some gray. She recommended a way to blend the color with the gray and I absolutely love and have received many compliments on the color and cut. I love Ulta!! You can find anything and everything here. From hair products, bath and body car to hot tools. Did I mention that they also offer skin care service like facials? On top of that there is a hair salon in the store. All I can say is that is the place you need to come to if you are looking for make up, nail polish or even want to get a quick facial. While browsing in the store I found out that you can actually test some of the make up. Customer service was impeccable as one of the associates helped me through the whole process of finding the right foundation. My initial plan when I came to this specific location was to find a nail polish color that I could not find in the other Ulta stores. Needless to say I ended up getting a foundation, the nail polish (they only had 1 left) and a lip gloss. My whole shopping experience was great. The associates take the time to help you find products, make recommendations and are always very friendly. Also make sure to join their mailing list, it is great way to get coupons and birthday discounts/specials. This will definitely be my Ulta store and the fact that it is located in a shopping plaza is also a bonus. read more

I have been going to Ulta for a while now to get my hair done. I have seen a few stylists but then I ended up having Patricia cut and color my hair and decided then and there that I found MY stylist and I only wanted Patricia to do my cut and color from then on. I have a short pixie and Patricia listened to how I liked my haircut. Patricia also gave me some suggestions as well as helping rectify my color to a much better color than the last stylist had chosen. Patricia exceeds in every aspect of being a top notch stylist. She is an asset to Ulta in Sanford Florida!! She has phenomenal customer service skills and to be honest as long as she is there. I will always have Patricia handle my hair!! I had an eyebrow lamination, wax, and tint process done 2/12/24 and the solution burned my skin off. I told the associate my skin was burning and she shrugged it off like it was normal. I went to dermatologists today because my skin around my eyes was so bad that it caused my eyes to be swollen shut. I would not recommend this eyebrow process to anyone. Ulta needs to follow better guidelines (skin test) before eyebrow lamination procedure. read more

Great location for Ulta, so happy to have this place here! The location is always well stocked and the staff are helpful with info on new products and sales. If you have a makeup habit this is a great place to indulge. I love that here are lots of testers and testing areas for playing. The testers are kept very clean and organized, which is a bonus. The whole point of cosmetics (in my opinion) is testing, trying, and playing around with colors. It's great Ulta does this. I love the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Bar here too. So many great options for shaping and enhancing your brows. Ulta has their own cosmetic line and I am a fan of their powder eyeshadows, eyeliner, and lip liner. I usually wait for a sale and can pick up their lovely liners for a huge discount. Just sign up for emails or their weekly flyer. From emails you can receive coupons for $3.50 off of purchases $10 or more. There are coupon limitations for high end products, but it's a great deal if picking up shampoo, basic personal care products, styling tools, and drugstore brand cosmetics. read more

I normally don't leave reviews but I must give kudos where it's due. I accidentally purchased the Aqua Di Gio for men in addition to Dolce light blue for women while perfume shopping. I called the store to see if the correct scent was in stock. I spoke with Kieflynn and Desirae who both partnered to find the Aqua Di Gio for women and both ladies were very kind. I commented to Desirae how both of their customer service is above the norm (most representatives in customer service despise checking stock over the phone). They looked all around the store and searched thoroughly to help me find the item. so sad to be writing this review because I used to love this store.. Unfortunately I was robbed by an Ulta Employee and the Supervisor is doing nothing about this. I purchased Multiple items yesterday and when I got home I checked the bag and saw my Morphe loose powder was not in the bag. I checked my receipt and noticed I was charged for it. I decided to check my car to see if it had fallen out and it did not so I then called the store to ask if they can review the cameras. I received a call back from an Emloyee insisting it went into my bag. I tried explaining that it did not but they didn't want to listen. I called back several hours later to speak with a supervisor and she claimed she reviewed the footage again and it went into the bag. I explained over and over that products do not just disappear and something isn't right here. I'm the first one to admit when I am wrong or if I had made a mistake and dropped it but I went nowhere else. I went from the store, to my car and then to my home. I'm absolutely disgusted right now. I spend a lot of money in that store and It's disheartening to learn that they can't even be trusted to put an item that was paid for by me. I wouldn't be writing this review but this is the 2nd time this has happened to me at this location. The first time they insisted they had put my lip liner in the bag and told me I was wrong and then the next day when I called back it magically appeared behind the counter. The supervisor ensured me they even did inventory to make sure all was checked out but I know that's a lie because as a former Mac employee I can tell you inventory takes a lot longer than 30 seconds. Do better Ulta. Unless you want to be Robbed I would not go to this location and I am taking this to corporate. read more

Be cautious! This location knows nothing about true customer service and is probably trying to get away with an unlawful consumer practice! My daughter made an appointment for a makeup application for a social gathering that was rather important to her. She called two days prior to the event to schedule the appointment and received a confirmation e-mail about it. The appointment was scheduled to take place on the day of the event, four hours prior to its 6:30 PM start time. However, my daughter received a call from the store at 9:00 AM on the day of the event, claiming that there would be no one available to complete her makeup application appointment. Mind you, the store doesn't open until 10:00 AM so I'm guessing this call to my daughter was made as soon as the staff came into the store, which implies that no calls were made to get some other staff member in for my daughter's appointment. What alternatives was my daughter given? Here they are: 1) Move the appointment to 5:00 PM (I guess someone would have been available then but this was WAY to close to the scheduled start time of the event and, therefore, not an acceptable option). 2) Come in at the scheduled time for her original appointment and have someone perform her makeup application at the store's Brow Bar where - get this - she would HAVE TO purchase $40 worth of product! What kind of scam is this?!?! Forcing a service appointment cancellation and then providing an "option" that forces a customer to have to purchase store product?!?! No way! This store is the absolute worst!! Go somewhere else for any beauty-related products and services!! ***Poster's Editorial: If anyone is wondering what happened with my daughter, thankfully I was able to schedule an appointment for her at the Ulta location in Waterford Lakes, which both her and my wife absolutely loved since they took great care of her there! However, I can only purchase said items if I am able to come into contact with them in your store and, sadly, this was not the case at this Ulta location. Tears. I could not browse for a damn thing because the store would not accommodate my wheelchair. I imagine you'd run into the same issues if you had your kid in a stroller or if you had to use any type of assistive walking device. What bullshit. I came to experience my free Birthday Brow at the Benefit Brow Bar-which is not so much a bar as it is a tiny endcap with a chair, shoved next to a wall of merchandise. To get to the Benefit Brow-cap, hubby had to move several displays and fixtures out of the path of my wheelchair. Loverfuckingly. Whilst my eyebrow waxing is going on, patrons are doing their shopping, walking behind me, stopping to browse-very unnerving. The chick who did my brows made me look like a drag queen- by the way, I love drag queens, just don't wish to look like one, thanks. And I was advised that Benefit is discontinuing their free Birthday Brow at Ulta locations so I didn't include a link on how to go about getting a service a one of the better Ulta stores- if they exist. read more

I was so excited to have my make Up done by a professional artist for a holiday party that was important to me. Unfortunately, I was set up with Katya. She's the esthetician for their salon but does not have any experience with make up. Ulta, for me, is a one size fits all girl store. Hair products? A salon? Check and check. Makeup consultations, the ability to test out products, a fragrance and skincare section - this is a place someone feeling girly will want to be. I particularly love this store because of the service. In some of the bigger/busier stores in Orlando, I always receive a very poor customer experience in the way of poor attitudes and disorganized/messy aisles. This Ulta has always been clean, the employees friendly, and the products well stocked. In particular there is a dark haired manager (I am so sorry, her name escapes me) that I had a lengthy conversation about finding a perfect low end dupe for Urban Decay's 'Shame' lipstick - and she showed me NYX without having to do any research. Knowing your products that well impresses me greatly. I'll always make the trip to this location. It also doesn't hurt that it's part of an outdoor mall with a ton of great stores. read more

What a horrible experience went in to get one single color and the stylist jazmin colored it blows me and as I walk to front to pay and look in another mirror I notice I can still see the COLOR I came in with so I go back to ask how it's going to get fixed and how she didn't notice it while blowing me and she's like oh yeah now I see it so the manager comes which I believe was named Anne or Annie and starts talking down to me like sweetie what did you expect your hair to come out like I'm like dark dark brown like black and she starts saying well the process that needed to be done is this and that I said I do not work in hair nor do I know steps and she goes on to say well listen I been doing hair 20 plus years and just going off I said exactly you have I haven't and don't know about hair so you as a stylist should of known what it woulda took to dye my hair properly !so she's like you can come in to get it corrected but it won't get blown out again cause it's a correction I'm like but it wasn't my mistake ! I paid for a service ! long story short I came in next day to get it corrected when I come in at the time they tell me jazmin doesn't even look my way and someone else comes up saying have you been helped I'm like not yet I have an appointment their like oh she's leaving for the day I said uhm no I was told to come get corrected and she goes to the wash room and I'm like uhm hello !!!! Yesterday a few friends and I walked into this location planning to buy a few travel items because some of us are going on trips this summer. As we walked in we were greeted normally and then as we walked by, an employee whispered something about our group and the two standing there started laughing. We brushed it off and continued to look around for the things we needed. A few minutes later two OTHER employees started laughing at our group. At this point we'd had enough. Although this location had the things we needed, the customer service was atrocious. You've lost our business and none of us will ever be purchasing from this store again. I'd hate for some other people to walk in and be publicly humiliated like we were. It's ridiculous that 4 employees laughed and made fun of paying customers. Instead of listening to my question when asking for help she instead chit chats with another employee and only listens to about a 1/3 of what I had said and walks away from me. I wanted to try the new Ulta Beauty salon that opened in Orange City, Fl. I have short hair (just below chin length). I wanted ombré and showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted. Darker on top fading down to blonde on the bottom. After 4+ hours at the salon it was not ombré at all. I went back the next day for a correction service and the stylist messed up my hair SO bad!! I was literally in tears. The manager said they could not fix it for free and wanted to charge me to fix what was horribly wrong. On top of that, the stylist was so rude and said my hair looked great. After calling and speaking to the GM they offered to refund my money and said they cannot fix what I am "not satisfied with". I have never been so upset after any type of hair service, or any customer service experience. I will NEVER walk in another Ulta store again. read more

I went in this Ulta store a few weeks ago and a very nice young lady color matched me for foundation. Well when she went to get the foundation so I can purchase it they were sold out. She did state that I could check back in with them in a few days and they should have it, well a few days turned into about 2 weeks plus and still they did not have it. I went and got the foundation from Sephora. The young lady was nice and inventory is not her fault but it seems they are always out of something. I will be going to Sephora as my first go to for now on. read more

I am not a fan of the Sanford Ulta store. Any time I have gone in for something they are out of stock. The displays look sloppy and the staff is spread thin. I moved here 3 years ago so this is an ongoing issue with this store not a temporary Covid issue. I tried using a birthday coupon once and the girl couldn't figure it out and told me to come back. When I came back the birthday item was out of stock so I was told to come back the following month for the next birthday item. How many times do I have to come back? Just today I placed an order for pickup. The store lists the item in stock and yet several hours after my order placement I receive notice my order is cancelled and they are out of stock. Who is in charge of this store? I'm finding it better to just go through the actual retailers websites and skip Ulta all together.
