The service was definitely 5 stars. This is a casual, counter order style restaurant. The place is very clean. Our group of 6 came in and it was our first time there. There's 2 small round tables and 2 narrow rectangular tables along the window. When we asked if we could move the tables around to sit together, the female worker said it was fine. She was very friendly and answered our questions. She even gave 3 in our group ginger ales because they didn't order the combo meal like the rest of us. The food itself was tasty. I enjoyed my beef shwarma wrap. I don't care too much for crinkle fries though. Portion sizes are huge. They have a rewards point system if you go regularly. I recommend this place. read more

I have been a fan of shawarma for decades. Usually I found it near NYU in the village. The best places had real lamb meat on a spit and sliced off generous hunks to be sauteed with onion and added to a pita. Then it was drowned in tzaziki sauce and handed to me. This is a different kind of shawarma but equally wonderful. The taro puffs were a standout. I hope they will change their minds and add lamb to the mix. Anxiously waited for this place to open. I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately it was not a good experience from start to finish. The cashier, was just plugging whatever order he wanted, even if you repeated yourself several times. There was no itemized receipt given to even know if your order was placed right. We had to go back and reorder our sides and drinks even though we had repetitively told him what we wanted. When we got the bill and were waiting for our order, we did the math and was like wait this doesn't add up to what we actually ordered. The woman in the back was irritated and berated the cashier within viewing of walkins. They had alot of family friends of the place sitting at tables hanging out not eating, that we didn't have a place to sit and eat. So we took it to go. Which in hindsight, i wish weren't forced to because one bite, and it was completely inedible, i probably would've asked for a refund. It was so salty my face twitched trying to eat it. We tried all three varieties. The chicken, pork, and beef. All of them were so salty. My ears were ringing the rest of the day and i feel so sick from it. We really did try to give it a chance. But trying each one, and none being edible was disappointing, especially for the price. For transparency on what to expect for the toppings, they only offered mayo and ketchup, and choice of lettuce, tomato, and onion. But to be honest, it doesn't matter what you say you actually want because they just do and put whatever they feel like in it. They have potential of being decent if they lower the sodium significantly and listen to what the customer is saying rather then jumping the gun. It's a unique food choice for long island eateries. I went here for a late dinner after a work event with some of my colleagues. The lady at the cash register was charismatic, friendly, & helpful. I got the beef sharma meal w/french fries & a brisk tea. I thought the price was great, especially since they had a 20% discount to honor their recent opening. The shawarma was very big & filling. I loved the sauce & the meat was tasty too. I will say the French fries were too salty though, I couldn't even finish them. Inside there's limited seating but there are about 6 or 8 chairs & 4 tables. We had no problem eating in when we went & they had a TV playing America's Got Talent on tv for entertainment. read more

Chicken Shawarma is absolutely delicious take out! Haven't tried beef or pork, but surely they are wonderful as well. Heat level is tailored to individual tastes, and I love extra spicy. I wanted to love this place so much. The staff in there is so nice and will explain everything to you. The shawarma itself is very lackluster. It's a large shawarma in size but very little filling. The chicken (very little of it btw) was seasoned but so salty. The entire meal was way too salty to be honest. I had half my shawarma bc I was so hungry and figured I'd eat the fries but couldn't even eat all the fries bc of how salty it was. The wrap was soggy by the time I got back to work so Womp Womp for me but that's not on them. I really really wanted to like this place but it's just barely ok. And I know the place is called Mac Shawarma but I was also expecting other things to be served besides Shawarma, like rice plates or even the option of meat over fries. I would for sure go back to try one more time though bc like I said, the staff were great, maybe it was an off day cooking or something. read more

I decided to try Mac Shawarma the other day. I have been to many places over many years that serve Shawarma so I decided to get the large chicken Shawarma. This is my review I felt like it was a giant Panini or a flat burrito with very little meat or filling in it. When I took a bite, I felt like I tasted more of the wrap than the actual ingredients. There was just not enough chicken in the sandwich to really feel like it was good. The chicken Shawarma happened to be very tasteful and well seasoned. However, again it was an odd type of chicken Shawarma with not enough ingredients in it, and not worth the cost of $13, I hope they figure something out. I was so excited about this place opening that on the first day it opened. I had to try it the lady at the cash register. Unfortunately, even after trying to explain many times got my order wrong twice and then gave me the wrong change back because she overcharged me when I asked her are you sure is this correct she responded yes this is the price for everything you ordered. I left and went to my car when I tabulated everything it came out to $5.75 less when I went back in a guy was there and re-keyed my order and apologized, and returned the rest of my money . I can understand how this would happen on the first day open so I wasn't really that upset but I tasted the food and looked at the size portions. I was very disappointed. I used to live in Yonkers where there was a Authentic Middle Eastern grocery store that would make the best overstuffed Shawarma so maybe my bar might be a little high, but I like flavor and spice and good size portions which the Shawarma had none of.
