Last Friday at 4:50 PM, the VM Ware on my Mac crashed suddenly. I was desperate, as I needed to have access to it over the weekend to work. I called MacDave and he made himself available to help me that evening. I took my Macbook to his lovely home which was nearby and he worked on my computer for 2 hours! No complaints about ruining his Friday night - he was so helpful and both made the necessary adjustments/ repairs and instructed me in better ways to use my mac. I was so relieved and so happy that I could get back to my project and work on it over the weekend. I think it is very rare to be able to find someone on such short notice and have them do such an excellent job. I have already made plans to have him help me upgrade my mac and set up a hard drive to back up my work. He extremely knowledgeable, helpful, professional, reasonably priced, and does not make you feel as if you are clueless, even though you may feel you are. I recommend him very highly!! read more

The thing about computers these days, is I really don't want to know a thing about them. I just need to get the job done. Some techies show up and want to send me to computerU. They don't know how to focus their vast experience on the needs of my specific work flow. Dave had the right approach. "What's the problem? OK, here's what you need to fix it ." MacDave is the tech support I've been looking for since my I wandered into cyberspace. I like to write and play with photoshop, but I don't want to spare the time to really understand the computer I do those things with. MacDave has never failed me. He either knows the answer or he will find out and give you an intelligible play by play as he does it. I cannot say enough about this guy! He patiently continued to come over and fix my dinosaur equipment, always gently telling me that I really should spend a little money and upgrade (the internet router stuff, not computers) - finally made him happy today and spent the money at the Apple Store. He came right over, hooked up the new Airport and Airport Extreme, fixed my Comcast internet (which had been unreliable and slow), and charged me less than he had said he would. The guy is amazing. I needed help setting up a wireless network when roommates moved in running windows, Dave advised me what to buy, then came over and set it up. Shocked that I was still running Tiger he offered to optimize my mac if I brought it to his house. Which I did and he got my computer all up to date. His fees are very cheap considering the amount of time he puts in and he's always available for follow-up advice. Fast, knowledgeable and not condescending. I highly recommend him.
