It seems like Macey's underwent some remodeling over the last few years, as they had started down the road of warehouse-y discount store. I'm not familiar with the behind the scenes stuff, but they seem to have upped their game, taken over a few locations like the Fresh Market in Murray and the Dan's in Olympus Hills, and otherwise tried to pony up. That of course has spread across the Macey's-verse and this store is no different. Now, they're definitely still playing the bargain and discount game--but their fixtures and signage indicate a bit more attention on the experience, and on bringing things up to modern day and elevating them beyond the bargain warehouses. I came in today in somewhat of a hurry, but did spend some time in the pharmacy. I need to give a shoutout to Wally, first of all because his name is Wally and for real, this world needs more people named Wally. But second, he's a big dude but a gentle fella who can jab you with a needle without you even noticing. I took a few mins to walk around the store, and remembered how much I like their bakery. Mostly the donuts--they're one of the better ones in the state. I don't come here looking for the high dollar or top shelf stuff, but they were the only ones who carried the instant yeast that I like, and if you're looking to bake for a big crowd, you can find some really great deals on un-fancy flour, un-fancy sugar, and most other un-fancy items. Things were clean, the staff (especially Wally) were really polite, and the prices are pretty cheap--all while you don't feel like you've just walked into a neglected back room. read more

I've been going to this Macey's since we moved here in 1991. It's changed a lot over the years, but now it feels more like going into a regular, full service grocery store. They have a great butcher section with knowledgable people working there, the bakery is great, the deli is well stocked, and we LOVE the ribs and brisket that they occasionally have there. This store is the BEST one to do online shopping with. They are amazing if they are out of something. The shopper reaches out with a text or call and gives possible substitution choices. They will also mention the difference in price. Most other stores rarely even notify me about substitutions. I would highly recommend shopping here, the customer service is amazing!! read more

Came to Macey's last night for ice cream... I had no idea they sold ice cream cones or dole whip! It was awesome! My husband got the pineapple & raspberry dole whip swirl and I got the "momma" sized swirled ice cream cone. The portions are HUGE for the ice cream cones and, they are super cheap! Definitely a hidden a gem. It is now going to be a part of our weekly date nights. I didn't have my phone on me otherwise I would've taken pictures. But if you're looking for a cheap date night or treat for kids, this is the place to stop at. read more

Everyone says they love the soft serve ice cream what they don't realize is the ice cream machine isn't properly maintained. The ice cream machine is rarely ever cleaned. The ice cream is full of harmful bacteria. The health department should close it down. People will get sick. read more

Not the best grocery store, but the prices are cheap. It can be a massive zoo during the dinner hour, especially on Saturday nights. Sometimes their shelves are empty when there's a deal. Don't expect to find anything here to cook a gourmet meal. Everything is very watered down for a simple American palate. No home delivery. The first time I heard of this store, someone told me to go to Macey's and buy some pop for a party I was going to when I asked what to bring. Our Macey's grocery store has always been our local neighborhood store. they cared about their customers. I have always loved their bakery. that is until now. They are famous for their excellent raisin cookies. The best anywhere. The last two were horrible. they had hardly any raisin filling. I called to see if they could go back to the way they were before. I was told by the bakery they have changed them and they will not put them back the way they were. You just lost my buisness. I was in town for the Thanksgiving Holiday visiting my son....we wanted to buy our groceries for thanksgiving and Maceys was the closest so we went. I spent a lot of money as expected for our thanksgiving celebration....there were three items I bought that were awful... one was the 7 layer bean dip which cost $20, the second was a pumpkin roll, the third was some turtle pie... those three things were made there I guess... and were disgusting or truly tasteless! I took them back to get a refund...I had my receipt and they wouldn't give me anything back for any of them!!! Sierra was the employee I spoke with and she said they don't give refunds on perishable items! I looked at my receipt and it says nothing on there about refunds ..... I looked around the registers and there is nothing about no refunds anywhere.... this Sierra said it's in a binder behind her counter ...with?!? So word to the wise ... don't buy perishable items at Maceys unless you are positive you will like it cause there are no customer satisfaction guarantees here!!! I will never go to any Maceys again....ever! read more

This is possibly the best grocery store we have ever been to in this country! It is certainly the largest non-membership grocery store we have ever been to, and even though it seems to be busy all the time everything was clean and well-stocked. Since it is so massive we had to walk around for a little while before finding out the pattern of the store and getting our groceries, but we didn't mind and enjoyed exploring the gigantic variety on every aisle. We were passing through Orem and (unfortunately) this was the only Macey's we saw on our trip through six states, but if it was available everywhere we would probably do all of our shopping there. I LOVE MACEY'S! This is one of the things that I miss most about Utah since moving to Chicago. I know the layout like the back of my hand. No membership required, just a great place to find everything you need and the friendliest people around. (It is Utah, you guys.) You can always find fresh, seasonal items stocked, and they pay special attention to holidays, which I love. This place is always busy, but does not get neglected or behind with stocking and cleaning. This is a very well-maintained grocery store! There is a lot going on in here. It feels more like a warehouse than a grocery store in some ways. Maybe it's the giant space, the high shelving, or the rows and rows of food and supplies. In other grocery stores, it seems they have it well decorated with sectioned off spaces...I didn't get that feeling here. However, if decor doesn't matter you'll find satisfaction due to the stock and selection of products here. While finding employees in this huge store is a bit of a task, once you do they are super friendly and helpful. Bring your own bag and save on plastic and paper! read more

Macey's Food & Drug is a typical supermarket packed to the roof with everything you could want and ask for. This particular Macey's is organized more like a discount, bulk store like Winco or Costco than your ordinary supermarket like Harmon's. Food is piled high on shelves and on displays, ready for the eager buyer to pluck it up and put it in their carts. Prices are good and the staff even bags your groceries, unlike Winco. read more

This store has a great feel good environment and I do like the Ice cream at the deli for sure. But I swear when I go the signs that are posted are not always the amount that rings up. I'm usually wrestling kids to notice at the moment, but when I check my receipts later I find 80% of the time I have been over charged. It's only charged in pennies. But it adds up. I won't go back to Macey's for a while and then I'll get an add in the mail and go back just to realize that I was over charged on something not programmed in the register but posted on the item. They will change it very quickly but I have to catch it at the moment otherwise that extra .50 is not worth coming back in for. I do like the store but get bugged about that overcharge. read more

There are a lot of things I like about Macey's. Here are three. First, I like their prices. They have some good deals every week and I'm all about the whole 'saving money thing.' Second, most of their food items are very good quality. Third, the service is always good. I've never had a bad experience with an employee at Macey's. I've had to go back a few times to have a few pricing mistakes fixed, but they're always very nice about it and they refunded the differences each time. Now, I said "most" of their food items are very good as far as quality, but not all. I don't know what it is about their produce but they almost always have a pile of fruit that looks disgusting. Last week it was bananas. I mean, every single friggin' banana was at least 60% black or more. I was looking for a sign that said they were free but they actually wanted money for them. I'll buy yellow or green bananas but not black. Sorry, not really. This week their grapefruits looked terrible. They looked like someone had just finished up using them for batting practice. Is it weird that I will only buy fruit that doesn't look rotten and beat up? Maybe I'm a fruit snob, who knows... I still hit up Macey's about every week, but unfortunately they don't always fulfill all of my grocery needs. read more

We went into the store to get a birthday cake, first Isle I went to go down the manager stopped me and RUDLY told me these are ONE WAY ISLEs. I thought that was a little silly and sure enough, just like me, nobody was looking down at the floors to notice the signs they had put down. I even mentioned it to an old lady coming down the wrong way and she said the same thing "I don't look down at the floor." I understand the social distance thing at this time but I think that is really silly as I watched almost everyone else I encountered doing the same thing and not looking down. But my biggest complaint was how that manager handled it she could've been a little more polite about it instead of being so RUDE. read more

I grew up shopping here. So far as I can tell they are a great grocery store. They are definitely no Costco, but I've never had a bad experience here. The staff are friendly, the environment feels great and vibrant, everything is organized. It definitely doesn't have everything, but it has enough that it is an amazing store. read more

Our family loves going to Macey's for their Kong cones after biking in Provo Canyon. It's become a family tradition. Their ice cream is smooth and creamy, delicious, and hugh for the price ($0.59 for the Baby Kong, which is plenty of ice cream for me, and I love ice cream). read more

Accused my whole family of stealing, and embarrassed my mother in front of a crowd of people asking her to remove everything from her bag and telling her that she told my little sister to take something. Upon review of the security footage there was no stealing involved but still called the cops anyways because they felt like it. We have never gone back since. read more

This store is usually my last pick since they have higher prices and a not so great atmosphere. But it was close and I had to buy only 1 item. I Went in with my service animal. One of the employees actually yelled across the store I could not bring my pet in. It was quite embarrassing as many people heard and saw her yelling until I turned around and she saw I had his service dog ID with him. This is the only grocery store where I have had an issue.
