This location of Smith has been here forever. Despite the age of the store, it is clean and the service is decent. They have a good selection and carry some items that I can't find anywhere else. It's become my go to grocery store. I find that their meat and vegetables are fresh. They also have pretty good deals each week if you follow their app. I realize it's really just a Kroger, but many of the employees seem to be there for the long haul and seem to actually care. read more

A joke... I go looking for Hawaiian Bread, and can't find it anywhere. I ask, they walk me over to the Rolls and say, it's here... I'm like, cool.. I love the employees at this store! I am always treated well by the cashiers, baggers, and curbside pickup crew. I particularly appreciate Ladd. He saw me walking in with my baby and gave me a cart to help me out. One of my least favorite parts of grocery shopping is taking my items out of the cart to be scanned. When I wear my baby in a carrier, it is so difficult to stand next to the cart and reach the items in the narrow lane! Ladd saw me struggling, so he unloaded my groceries for me. Then, he even offered to help me load the groceries in my car! For a new parent, grocery shopping is extremely intimidating-- but these people make it so much better! I must say your employee named Suzette in the gas area was one of the rudest employees I have ever met. I shop Orem Smiths and drop at least a thousand dollars a month there. My adult daughter accidentally washed her ID and it ended up with a crease in it. When she tried to purchase something with it Suzette said she couldn't use it. So I went up to the window to get it with my ID. And was told since we were in the same car she couldn't accept. WHAT???? THAT IS SO WRONG! She said we have to go somewhere else. For a place that's been around forever, I'm surprised to be writing the first review. There is a duplicate entry for the store, but it's empty too. I used to shop here a lot more, but over time they've pretty much removed the meat and seafood counters. Many other specialty items too. It's a standard Kroger now. So, why the higher rating? In two words Ice Cream. Yea, I'm moving a 3 star quality store to 4 because Kroger now carries Graeter's ice cream. I used to mail order this stuff, even with the outrageous shipping, to get it here frozen. It's that good. In the days I traveled 40 weeks a year for work, I would route my flights through the Cincinnati Airport when going to the East coast to get Graeter's Ice Cream from a newspaper stand in the far end of the airport. The Black Raspberry Chip is the best of the signature flavors going to stores. I really like the Chocolate Chocolate Chip too. read more

I drive all the way over there for something specific and when I'm checking out they say they don't accept Apple Pay. Get modern or update your store with correct information. Went to Orem Smith's on Father's Day at about 11am. Produce was horrible. Very little on the shelves. 1 10lbs bag of potatoes and no 5lbs bags. No Roma tomatoes. But I did see the produce manager walking around the store getting himself some frozen dinners for lunch. At least my understanding is he is the produce manager. Short chubby bald guy with red chin hair. He must have built a hardy appetite after stocking nothing. I would have asked him why produce was in such bad shape, but he has a reputation of making sarcastic comments about customers while working on the floor. Smith's is my grocery store of choice now. I like the produce and meats. I feel like the meat is fresh. The employees are helpful and always say hi when they walk by you in the store. The baggers are awesome. They take care to not smash my bread. I can't wait to try the online ordering and pickup service. read more

This location is significantly larger and cleaner than the Smith's I usually go to (in Provo) but they restock significantly less often. The few times I've been they've been out of something I needed. They also recently stopped giving the option of paper grocery bags. I asked for paper, and they explained that they stopped carrying paper bags last month. Because of this, I won't be shopping at this location again. read more

Smith's in Orem reminded me why I appreciate the grocery stores who require all customers to wear masks. A few days ago, two young men claimed they were "exempt" from wearing masks and the store claimed there was "nothing they could do about it". Guess Smith's isn't as "committed to doing their part" as they claim to be on their website: "With the increase in COVID-19 cases across the country--as America's grocer--we are committed to doing our part to help reduce the spread of the virus. I frequent a couple of grocery stores--Costco, Harmon's, Target, and Smith's. I love all these stores, but Smith's takes the overall prize. The store is very clean, their produce is excellent, and their prices are good. The biggest thing for me might be pretty silly, but when you first get into the produce section, there is a little stand that is stocked with apples, bananas, and tangerines. It's good quality fruit, and it's for shoppers to munch on while they shop. That earned some big points for me. 10/10 would go again. read more

Now, just moving to Orem from a major city in the West I was a bit disappointed to know that this was the only (Kroger) store in town. That being said, there are a lot of other grocery stores in Orem of varying degrees in size from large regional and local chains to smaller independent stores, but my preference after shopping them all is Smith's. I like that they have the Kroger staples I am used to, like Simple Truth Organics. Even though the store is quite small in square footage they have, for the most part, all the items I need. I do hope they continue to expand the natural and organic selections though. But what really keeps me coming back week after week is the interactions with the employees. From the pharmacy, to the check-out clerks, to the service desk. Every single time, I am greeted with a smile, a genuine desire to help and polite, friendly conversation. I feel poorly about generally all Smith's, especially the one in Provo. But this Smith's is FANTASTIC. It's got everything you could want, need, desire, lust for. It's newly remodeled and beautiful. The produce here is perfect. Fresh and perfect. They also have a section of prepared cut vegetables and herbs and fixings to make soup. It's easy for disabled individuals who cannot make soup themselves (or cut vegetables), or for a quick easy meal at an inexpensive price and still has that homemade flair and health benefits. There's a cheese section that's bursting with artisan cheeses. They have little bins in the cheese island of small samplings of cheese for under 5 dollars. I like to pick up different ones each time to try new flavors. Aisles and walkways are clean, excellent bulk food area, wonderful butcher and bakery and deli selections. Service is awesome. There's rarely a line and they're quick to get a large line through. This is a good Smith's. All other Smith's should aspire to be better like this one (I'm looking at you, Provo Smith's.) read more

I am not a big Smiths fan in the first place...the Kroger brand is iffy and produce prices are high. But today took the cake. The service has a lot to desire. The last two times I was in the store to send a Moneygram I had terrible service. Last time I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the service desk girl to wait on me, I have no idea where she was and neither did anyone else. Today the service desk girl was there....she yelled and I mean yelled! a conversation across the counter to one of the checkers. She loudly complained and made fun of a customer that had called in looking for the fuel desk clerk. read more

This is another one with a fuel station, a boon to any of those locations and always appreciated by yours truly...as long as they work, I guess. The store inside is both very clean, very nicely laid out and honestly, I found it a bit charming, with lots of throwback lettering and signage, yet the store was not run-down in the least. Organization was awesome and the selection, especially in the bakery area, was also one of the better ones I've been to in a while, including some of the locations in Salt Lake and definitely by far the best one I've been to outside of Salt Lake. This overall seemed a fairly warm and inviting place and I think they do a very nice job with it. If I lived in the area, this would probably be my regular spot for groceries. read more

I will never order online for Smiths grocery pickup again. They have put me in such a bind. I placed an order on Tuesday late in the evening for Saturday pick up for an event. On Saturday about an hour before pick up they called an cancelled. She told me when I order they don't check to see if the store has it and the store doesn't get the order until the day of pickup so if they don't have it they cancel the day of...I asked if they could check and see if they have any coming in as my event is on Tuesday and she said no. We order things but we don't know what is going to actually come in and that she doesn't have access to that information. I asked to speak with whoever does the ordering so I could see if there was a possibility of it coming in. I held for 15 minutes and then the phone without ever speaking to anyone, they hung up on me. Who runs a business like this in the digital age? read more

I go here regularly. Of all the grocery stores, like others I prefer Smiths, Harmon's, or Target. Target doesn't carry some of the healthy items like the other two, but then again Harmon's is expensive. Smith's is great & my favorite part about it now is the click list. As a working mother, time is precious and now that I've been saving a hour going through this, makes more time for food prep. They have been so friendly and helpful every time. Like today when they were out of one of the items they asked if I wanted a different version and they went out of their way to get it for me. They load your car for you every time. They tell you items they replace making sure you are okay with it. They've even given me items for free because they were out of the brand I wanted. They don't take tips so I try to do the surveys after because if you mention the employees name they are given incentives. They do pay attention to and special notes too! When deciding where to get groceries during the week, most people's options consist of Walmart, Target, Harmon's, Smith's, Costco and a few other small stores. I frequently visit Smith's because it's classier than most grocery stores in the valley, has an excellent Kroger brand, offers local selections, and is cheaper than other neighborhood markets (like Harmon's). I love the sushi that is made fresh daily and it's my weakness every time I come in because it's honestly really great- no need to regret buying it from a grocery store. There's a wide section for natural products if you are looking for organic, gluten-free, etc. products as well. The gas is very competitive with the stations nearby and it's very common that I see it's lower that its competitors- and that's not even including the special discount you'll occasionally get once you rack up enough points using your (free) Smith's membership card in store. The customer service are always great and it really looks like the workers enjoy their job at their great company. This specific location is always very clean and neat as well. If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere with a wide selection of natural foods that won't break the bank, Smith's is the place to go. read more
