I was vaguely told the charge was related to a service from September, but when I requested an itemized breakdown of the charges to be mailed or emailed to me, I was told to "call my insurance company" instead. That is completely unacceptable customer service. Patients should not have to investigate mysterious past-due bills on their own or rely on their insurance company to explain charges your office generated. Sending a collection-style bill with no details, no transparency, and no professionalism is incredibly frustrating. Based on this experience, it is unfortunately not surprising to hear there has been significant staff turnover. Clear communication, organization, and respectful treatment of patients should be basic expectations for any medical or dental practice.
