First off, I thought I had already rated Macho's Delish Mix!!! This is My FAVORITE PLACE!!! This is the place I go to when I say I am hungry and I want to eat out. This is thee only place I think of. They serve burritos, tacos, salads, smoothies and sides like empanadas, chicken salad, seafood salads, fruits salads and such. They have been on Cobbs Creek for about 3 years, I absolutely love them. They name some of their items after famous Philly people, like for instance the Iverson or Chamberlain. Macho's was the first place I had purple rice and I've never looked back. Their prices are reasonable as well, I usually spend about $22 for a meal which I usually last me about 2-3 meals. The establishment is very nice, clean, always bright, they have a cute color filled wall for pics possibly with their name in the center. They also have outdoor seating, which I used once for an organization event in the summer. They also offer limited seating inside. This establishment is black owned and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. When promoting an event or services they have a small wall the community can use and they are always welcome to adding new things to it. As I mentioned, my organization held a special gathering outdoors and they were extremely accommodating, even down to holding the refreshing smoothies inside to keep them cool on that warm summer day. I'll share more pics for sure but this review is long over due. There are many places and lots a great food in Philly, but if we want to live long and healthy lives we cannot indulge all the time. Macho's Delish Mix is not a place to avoid if you're on a health journey, it's a place you go towards. The food is made to order and always fresh and the healthy options are endless. I've driven by this spot so many times and kept making a mental note that I wanted to try it one day... On the day of my visit, I wasn't far from the restaurant and wanted something different so I decided to give the place a try and I'm so glad that I did! I placed my order online and an estimated prep time was provided. When I made it to the restaurant, the food was ready to be picked up. I ordered a West Philly Caesar and a chicken empanada... the presentation of the food was great and it tasted great also! Fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes and good prices... Decided to take a drive to West Philly to Macho's Delish Mix. I've been wanting to try this place, and it was worth every mile! Street parking is in a residential neighborhood. When I went, it wasn't hard to find a spot. Walked inside, and it appeared to be clean. It's not big inside, but it's comfy enough to have a seat at one of the tables or sit at the barstools, where you can eat and look outside. I got in line and waited my turn. There are so many choices! For my bowl, I picked white rice with garlic shrimp, onions, tomatoes, corn, sweet potato, cheese, etc. Being excited by all the options (and a tad bit overwhelmed, lol), I didn't even hook up my bowl like I should have--next time! There are greens, different proteins, sauces, dressings, and more to choose from! I also ordered a spinach and cheese empanada, grabbed their sweet tea (they have several cold lemonades and teas to choose from and offer refills if you stay), and, lastly, one of my favorite desserts -- banana pudding! Everything tasted so good! I thought I was going to drive back home after ordering my food, but once I got in my vehicle I tried the empanada with the side of aioli sauce, it was over. Delicious! The bowl's portion was big enough for two servings. The sweet tea and banana pudding were yummy! Customer service was pleasant and patient. They even have a reward system (I love reward systems)! @machosdelishmix is definitely my new favorite obsession! This is a Black Owned business which is basically a mix of Chipotle and Cava vibes on steroids. They have even more options if you can believe that! (Personally Machos was better than both for me!) Machos has everything from empanadas, nachos, burrito bowls, burritos, quesadillas, smoothies, salads, and tacos. Their toppings, greens, and protein options are endless so perfect for anyone that has food allergies or sensitivities or if you're just trying to eat healthier! This fast causal Tex-Mex resturant is so delicious. A few of my favorite menu items were their loaded nachos, beef birria (was absolutely incredible & I would come back solely for that protein option), banana pudding, banana bread and the incredible smoothies! Everything that comes out of Machos is made daily, fresh with love and you can taste it! But truly everything at Machos made me do the happy dance I loved it so much! The owners, Ab and Sheldon were so friendly. They opened Machos about a year ago when they saw a need for healthier food options in the West Philly area! They are heavily involved in the community through youth sports and even have a bulletin board promoting other local small businesses in the area! I came here because it had good TooGoodToGo ratings and really good Yelp reviews. And I also won a "bid" to get a random sampling. Upon arrival, I noticed the fresh vegetables salad bowl combinations and some of the cool, unusual drink flavors similar to a Cava or Zoe's Kitchen except Macho's stands on its own. It is a gem of a place in this section of West Philly that you wouldn't know if you aren't a local or into TooGoodToGo like me. The empanadas and spring rolls were fine and the sauce wasn't bad. I only had one of each a day at most as this is a lot for one person. There is a way to refry things without an air fryer so that things still taste reasonable but you have to know how to do it, can't be too picky, and it ain't the microwave lol. I've been trying to get here for awhile. I finally stopped in to grab a salad and a few other goodies. I walk in and there was a refrigerated case with Seamoss gels, seafood salads, chicken salad, tuna salad, homemade Dominican punches and a bunch of other drinks. I ordered my food through the kiosk a basic create your own chicken salad. I also got a 1/2 pint of homemade chicken salad, 2 empanadas spinach & cheese and chicken & cheese. I got a fruit punch as well. The punch was delicious with pieces of watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple. The salad was ok a little wet before I even put dressing on it. Not sure what made it wet. Where do I start? Macho's Delish Mix in West Philly always hits the mark. The staff is super friendly and makes ordering easy, and if you're not sure what to get, they'll point you in the right direction. I love that they hand out smoothie samples, such a nice surprise!! This was our first time here. The staff was very nice. You was greeted when you can in the store. It was very clean, bright, colorful and a get place to take photos. Their is street parking in a residential area, on the corner and you can eat inside or outside. The store is small and their is two way that you can get to the store. So when every you go take your time to look over the menu and looking on line because their is a lot to try. I can say I'm truly a foodie person and my husband is following along. I was all over the place with my decision. My husband know excited what he wanted. I didn't know what I wanted so it took me a little while for me decided. We order two medium smoothie and it was like juice not thick at all. So we won't be ordering that again. And when got our smoothie the young lady didn't give us the left over of ore smoothie while standing their waiting to pay she put it on the side to drink it. The food was good. And the prices aren't bad. If you order any food items and add on any meat, topping it will be an extra charge. I seen the manager's they was having a meeting or just taking at a table. When they seen that the store was getting crowded. They went in the back and wash their hands an put on gloves and start helping to get the line down. The food is made freash. When one of the transactions get low they are filling right up. I wish that we could've took a picture with the manger. Another thing that the mangers need to change is they is the shrimp. Because if someone is allergic to seafood. Look at the trays area and rearrange the steak the shrimp container. Juices from the shrimp and transfer all the top of the steak. When I ordered my sister tacos. The guy that was taking phone orders. That the shrimp juice dripped on the steak. So I couldn't get it on her tacos. Some people is Allergic to shellfish. Even a guy came from the kitchen from cooking and helped out with taking order. It's all hands on deck. We will be back and try something different. It was so crazy we went out there in the rain store just to try this new restaurant. Thank god we made it to the store. And made it safe home to enjoy our food. They ran out of menu. So we had to look at the one that was on the glass and also the electric one up on the wall. When you walk in the store you feel healthy, happy, hungry. To the owners wishing that y'all can invest in another Macho's Delish area. The Temple area North Philly, Bala-Cynwyd on Cityline Ave area. I ordered chicken tacos and they had just put the chicken meat in the pan because the one in there was empty. long story short, the chicken was never heated it was cold to the touch, my son had steak and shrimp tacos, his was warm. So I was driving by randomly and noticed this restaurant which I've never seen before. Came in the next day and WOW! The food is delicious, the workers were very friendly and I'm so happy I decided to try them. I got the Chamberlain rice bowl that's customizable, a mango smoothie and an empanada. At first I was trying to remove the seal at the top of the smoothie, but I quickly realized I'm supposed to stab the straw and voila. The portion size for the rice bowl is huge and the ingredients are fresh. Even just looking at the mango pieces in my salad it is obvious everything is fresh. Also the food is made in front of you.
