Went back and LOVED the sandwiches. They are sooo worth it! I also love their unique ice cream flavors and hot take, I get them over the soft serve.
Ice cream was decent but I don't get the hype. I had mint swirled with Oreo. It didn't really taste like either one. The interior is really in need of some TLC. It looks worn and rough. If you are in the area I guess stop but I wouldn't go out of my way.
A Philly classic that seems to truly bring the community together. This late-night ice cream and soft serve shop was super quick and an easy way to get a small sweet treat. The line moved quick despite it being out the door and the staff were all very friendly and patient. Also, big plus-- they have a restroom! We got the Dankaroo soft serve (vanilla and cinnamon swirl dunked in cookies and cream coating). The coating was very sweet, but the soft serve itself was not too sweet and a very nice texture. The texture was a bit more icy than traditional soft serve (which I prefer). The shop is very casual and does not offer any seating that I saw. Maybe they offer seating at an earlier hour, but not when we went.

I tried the Blueberry & Lemon Creme Twist soft serve and Cinnamon Toast icecream. I liked the soft serve better for its texture and taste. They have some great flavors here for sure but I feel like this place might be overhyped. It's still worth a try!

I was a little underwhelmed with the inside, I was expecting at least some seating but it's a spot to grab & go. I got the Dankroo which they had for that month and my goodness was it delicious! The flavors and the hard shell really reminded me of my childhood. Can't wait to try what other flavors they come up with next!
I have nothing negative to say about the service. The waitress behind the counter answered my questions and had a friendly tone. This is a buyer beware and maybe a note to the owner... the cup is too small for soft serve! You probably benefit more from getting a cone just because it has somewhere to go quicker! If it's a scorching hot day, get the cone IN a cup.

A group of friends and I stopped in on a chilly Saturday because we were craving ice cream, and we were not disappointed. The flavor of the week was hazelnut baguette, and while I didn't order it for myself, the few bites I had of a friend's order were delicious. Their soft serve is perfectly light and creamy. I am a hard ice cream girl through and through, so I went with the Snuggle Jungle flavor. It was crunchy. It was salty. It was sweet. It was doughy. It was incredible. Take my money every time I'm in Philly. There's not much to add service-wise other than the fact that we were served quickly! 10/10, would and will go again.
My husband and I shared: - Lemon Law - Berries & Cream Parfait The parfait was incredible. I absolutely loved the compote. I usually prefer hard serve over soft serve, but not here. I really wanted a mix in/compote of some sort in the hard serve, though it was still good. There is a bit of a line outside since they only let a few people in at once, but I didn't take too long.
So many fun flavors at 1-900-Ice Cream! Both hard and soft serve options looked incredible. When we arrived on Saturday evening, there was a long line outside. It moved quickly, though, the inside of the shop is quite small. There's a sign on the door that says maximum 5 people inside, but there were more people inside than that. It made for a crowded experience. The employees were professional despite the crowd. It's convenient that there's a restroom available for customer use. I ordered a scoop of Lemon Law ice cream on a waffle cone. It was like eating a slice of lemon cheesecake. Thick pieces of lemon shortbread in every bite. The waffle cone was crunchy and fresh. I'll be back to try a soft serve flavor next time!
So I saw all the posts and pictures and wanted to try it. I was disappointed that my ice cream portion was less than what I see online. Most cones had a decent amount but when I got my cone it was way less than the amount I saw others got online.. The price is the same for a cone yet the portion changes and when I asked I was told it depends on who's serving you. Not acceptable, everyone working should be trained on how to serve and the portion to serve. DO NOT get the cup it's tiny and will make a mess especially on a hot day. If you get the cone make sure what you get is what's posted online. They will try to short you and for the price you pay you will feel cheated if you don't get what you're paying for.

Did I lose the plot or is this underwhelming?? I heard rave reviews about this and honestly was suspicious and alas I was right. If you want to taste sugar and not flavor, this is the place. It's SO SWEET in a bad way that I couldn't really focus on what's the flavor/ flavor notes were. We tried different things like their scoops and soft serves but we didn't get the hype. At first you get a whiff of their "flavor" then kapow it's sugar. The inside vibe is...um...simple. The outside is also simple and easy to miss (could use more signs), service was pushy and curt, they don't allow dogs inside. It's a no for me dawg (pun intended) read more

1-900-Ice Cream was so good that I went 2 times in one week. I always heard the hype about this place and decided to take a mid-day trip to avoid the long line that's usually formed. They have a limit of 5 people that can enter at a time. I sampled a couple flavors and ended up landing on Superior Strawberry the first time. Loaded with strawberry, chunks, jam. Came back a couple days later to get Ugandan Vanilla which was super rich with deep vanilla flavor. Went on a Wednesday and they had just released their new soft serve flavor. Someone told me they had a game where folks could've guessed the new flavor of the month. Very cool concept. read more
This is my husband and my favorite soft serve and ice cream place! Having been to both locations, here and fishtown... we did notice the portions at rittenhouse are a little smaller, but still satisfying! The workers are always kind as well! They tend to carry 8 flavors of ice cream! And they seem to have vanilla and chocolate soft serve available every week, with two new soft serve flavors every Tuesday! We are always looking at instagram to see what the new flavor is... this business model has us coming here almost every week! The soft serve is not only creamy but oh so flavorful and delicious! I wish they could keep some of these flavors for a longer period! The line after dinner time (when we usually go) can be up to 30 minutes (wrapped around the candy store in the corner) but we've never been disappointed despite the wait! read more
After a filling dinner in the area, I was craving ice cream. I did a quick Yelp search and 1-900-Ice Cream was nearby and looked amazing. Little did I know this place is a local staple! Is soft serve a Philly thing? Either way, I'm in. They even have unique soft serve flavors like banana and pistachio I've never seen elsewhere. I ordered the chocolate and vanilla twist in a cup with rainbow sprinkles and my boyfriend got the vanilla soft serve dipped in a strawberry shell on a cake cone. Both of us looooved this ice cream. I would totally come back to try the chocolate shell ice cream and other soft serve flavors. They can't do any shell on the twist flavor, as a heads up, so pick your vices I guess. They also have regular ice cream if that's your thing. Service was really quick despite the long line. There's two lines, one for soft serve and another for regular ice cream which helps move things along quicker. I'd definitely return next time I'm in Philly! read more

Was a little sad they didn't have the soft serve sundae at this location but my cone was absolutely delicious if not a little simple I got strawberry soft serve with Oreo dip. So creamy and such a fresh flavor, not artificial at all, and the dip had such a nice little crunch. I also tasted the banana pudding hard scoop flavor which was delicious! One thing I will say is this melted soooo fast which isn't their fault but does make it tough to savor and enjoy haha. Line was long but moved fast. Inside was verrry small but it gives it a cute neighborhood feel. read more
Long lines are never fun to wait in unless you have a rewarding treat at the end of it. For a place that sounds like a crisis hot line for ice cream addicts, I had to do a double-take every time I passed the serpentine line that wraps around the block outside of the shop. Center city isn't short of ice cream parlors, so it was a bit of a phenomenon to see such hype for a place that's tucked away in a corner of the rittenhouse square neighborhood. Last weekend, I jumped on the chance to check them out when a friend had an ice cream hang out there for her birthday. Our group waited in line for about 20 minutes before we finally strode into the shop and got the scoops of our desire. Kudos to the girl who manned the counter that day, because she was so patient and nice to offer me multiple tastings without a complaint. Of all the flavors I sampled, I loved the lemon law and coffee treat the best. The combo may not sound like a good mix, but I'm a fan. Now I get the hype. I'll be frequenting this place whenever I find the courage to brave the line again. read more
I always check on their instagram stories for new flavors to make sure I get it before it becomes out of stock Now you can buy the scoops in a pint. Today I got Trifecta: salted caramel, chocolate and peanut butter ice cream with nutter butter and chocolate. I had a sample and without hesitation I asked for a pint. It tasted like snickers. I always look for special soft serve. I got the Ferrero Rocher: it really tasted like Ferrero Rocher candy. The dipping had hazelnut crunch so good. I also tried their lemon curd with blueberry: very refreshing and not too sour or tart. All of the sherbets are awesome because it's made fresh from the fruit. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to sample the scoop. The line can be long if m summer and it starts from the bottom of the ramp. You're not allowed to stand on the ramp anymore. Only five people are permitted inside the store. read more

Yes I love this place. I will always love this place. I was one of the customers who was buying ice cream out of an apartment. The food is always amazing. I have some thoughts recently but it doesn't out weigh the quality of this shop. Do wish the customers were nicer. The staff works really hard and I see that. read more

1-900 Ice Cream is a small shop serving up scoops of ice cream with toppings mixed in. It's best known for its dipped soft serve cones. --- I stopped by on a beautiful spring weekend day and the line was snaking around the full block. I find that almost no matter what time or day I go, unless it's the middle of the coldest day of winter, there's always a line. Today the line took around 30 minutes to get my ice cream. Their ice cream flavors rotate and I found that their scoops are very sweet (though less sweet than other nearby options). Their soft serve flavors also rotate along with their dip flavors. My most recent trip I got a vanilla cone with a cookie butter dip. Although I can say that the ice cream was good, it almost immediately had a "leak" and melted all over my hand. I've been here ~ 5 times and every time I question my life choices as I leave with sticky hands, stained shoes, and am disappointed I only managed to eat half an ice cream after waiting almost 30 minutes to get it. I think part of the issue is that since there's always a line, the inside of the shop is pretty warm from the door opening and closing so much (even though the AC is going). The inside of the shop accommodates ~ 10 people for taking orders and you basically have to take your ice cream to go. They allow sampling of the scoop flavors. There is a bathroom and two very small window ledges some people choose to sit at, but since the shop is always packed it's a bit unpleasant to sit at butt-level with those on line. The service is fast, considering they never stop moving. Overall, I'd recommend everyone to at least try 1-900-Ice Cream since it's so convenient to Rittenhouse Square. Personally, the ice cream is pretty good with the dip but always disappointing with how fast it melts and gets messy. If there's a line longer than half a block, I'd recommend coming back another time. read more
Long line, average ice-cream, high prices, and crowded indoor space. The strawberry soft-serve tasted super salty. I was expecting a higher quality flavor but left disappointed. In the end I wished I had just stopped by McDonald's for a vanilla cone. But at least it looked pretty with the sprinkles! i have to admit that there're quite some interesting choices for their hard ice cream. however, i doubt we're gonna comeback there anytime soon. - staff's attitude is just BAD. we don't feel welcomed here at all, the way they stared at us is just so uncomfortable. - cannot give you changes back. either you pay by card or exact the same cash amount. - OVERPRICED. i know there's inflation going on but not $21-for-two-ice-cream-order inflation. way too expensive for such not so extraordinary flavor or quality. read more
Went tonight for the first time, and probably would not go again on the first warm day of the year... at 7:30... on a Saturday... and wait 50 minutes to get said ice cream... but I had no where to be, and in good company, and ultimately it was SO worth it. Just the most beautiful, tasty, picturesque soft serve I've ever had. They rotate their soft serve flavors so I opted for their current flavor twist of strawberry & sweet cream. SO good and need another cone ASAP! read more
The service here was very kind and friendly. I went on a Sunday afternoon so there was no line but I've heard sometimes there's a long line so I'm not sure if I'd wait if there was! The ice cream was good and I really liked the dipped chocolate. read more
