Different Cheesesteak #1212. Spoiler alert: I liked it. The cheesesteak by itself probably isn't winning any cheesesteak contests but as a whole I liked The Union Tap House. The cheesesteak had a very good 'we have been using the same grill for 30 years' flavor. Onions added good flavor. $14 and 2 pickles, you know I liked that. Lively, friendly, and eating crowd. Old heavy wood decor. Cool old tile floor in dining area. Lots of chicken wing trophies. Young woman to my right helped me with the WiFi. (sidebar - I am happy that I have reached the age where young people know to just take my phone and do whatever task I am trying to accomplish) I had a lovely chat with the young man to my left.

This neighborhood bar is a gem...IFYKYK! Been here many times, couldn't believe I haven't reviewed yet! Always a solid draft beer list...the food choices from the Nachos to the wings...the food is consistently good! The service is good and bartenders are easy going! Gotta keep Union Tap House in the rotation...because I enjoy the laidback patrons and that is a win when you just want to have a cool night out!

Fun little dive bar near where two of our daughters live! We met them for some beers and grub one night recently. We tried the Kelce brothers beer while we were there and it was really good. We had sandwiches, wings, fries, etc. and it was all good. Oh and the bartender Shae was very attentive and sweet. It was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to hanging out with my girls there again soon.

Cute and quaint neighborhood bar. Great menu with even better specials. The beer selection is pretty good and the drafts do change but don't worry there are always great new beers and good standbys. The burger was huge, fresh and delicious. They get their buns from a bakery in Conshohocken and they are fresh and amazing. Back to the burger every morsel was delicious and big enough to share. The wings are crisp and delicious. Wing are half-priced on Tuesday nights! Sometimes the staff is a little stretched but the service is always on point. Totally love this place!!

Quality service, good wings, good crowd. Out of the way of Manayunk Main St but a good time. Wish they still served food as I wanted to try their burger but it was getting too late for real food when my friends and I arrived. Their hard lemonade was nice but not knocking me out of the park. I suspect their beer was probably superb but I tend toward sweeter beers and I never know what to order. Most US options seem more toward the bitterish or sourish side. Almost every time I've asked staff anywhere (not particularly here) for suggestions, they are always good but not what I am looking for. Feels like a bar that avoids the typical college kids that seem to get overly drunk as it isn't as easy to walk to or notice if you aren't already in that particular vicinity.

Found this little hole in the wall in manayunk and I'm already obsessed with it. This is the PERFECT spot for any locals as it isn't very crowded, but the food and service is great. Tons of pub food to choose from (the wings are incredible) and they have televisions everywhere if you want to watch any of the games like me! I will be going back often.

I feel as though my first review after my first time going does not do this place justice. I have honestly never eaten in, I only do pickups. but, I am now months later very passionate about this place. I get the same things as my first review, buff chick cheesesteak, fried pickles, mozz sticks. it's all under$40, this feeds two people, great portions and great quality. they are fast at making the food and it's honestly my favorite little comfort place in the area. if you haven't tried the union tap house please do. will not regret.

Beers on tap, tavern/pub food, great selection of bourbon/rye and pretty good wings. 4/5 on the wings. Prepared to my request (extra crispy and sauce on the side). The sauce options were plentiful and flavorful as well. The fried pickles were bland and not worth the $. Inside the establishment - dimly lit, multiple TVs and a bustling bar area. Will be back!

My favorite local dive bar. The hoagie cheesesteak is truly one of my favorite. The wings are pretty top notch too.

    Cheesesteak

Great cheesesteak! Service was slower, but there was only one waiter and we were outside. Not going to give 4 stars, but maybe don't go if you're in a rush.

My partner had been to both Murray's Deli and Hymie's Deli in Ardmore. We wanted to have lunch…read moreafter an appointment, so I took a quick look on Yelp, and decided to go to Hymie's. It was packed - only a few tables were available at 12:30 on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately seated and looked over the menu. We decided to share a 1/2 Pastrami sandwich ( you can order 1/2 a sandwich ), 1/2 a Corned Beef sandwich, an order of Potato Latkes and we each had a small bowl of Chicken Matzo Ball soup. The soup was delicious - it was a little bowl with tiny shreds of carrots and chicken. The broth tasted very good, however, the matzo ball was a 'little' different. They were light and fluffy - but there was no texture or flavor at all....none. I would have thought the matzo balls would have absorbed some of the flavor from the soup, but it didn't. I finished the soup, but left the matzo ball. My partner likes pastrami over corned beef - she says it's a more 'peppery' flavor. While I probably prefer corned beef over pastrami because it's a leaner cut, my 'baseline' for pastrami is Katz's (NYC). I'm sure Katz's has great corned beef, but I've only had pastrami there - it's the best I've had. I thought my Corned Beef sandwich was excellent - it was lean, tender and very tasty. I squeeze out a little mound of mustard on my plate and dip. My partner thought her Pastrami sandwich was very good - it was also quite lean. I took a few bites of the pastrami, I thought my corned beef was tastier and had more texture. It almost seemed like they sliced the pastrami too thin. She liked her pastrami more than my corned beef - I suppose it's all a matter of individual taste. The Potato Latkes were delicious - especially with the applesauce! They were a little thicker than I might have preferred, possibly from either potato starch or matzo meal. However, there was a very nice potato taste and the thicker texture was fine. Of course, on the way out I saw a large selection of pasties and had to try a few! I got a few of the Rugelach and a Poppy Hamantash. The Rugelach were a disappointment - the interiors of all were very thick and doughy. I ate some of the exterior layers.....and left the rest. The Poppy Hamantash, on the other hand was one of the best I've had. It was by far the largest one I've ever had! As a result, there wasn't enough Mohn (poppy filling) for such a large pastry! The filling was very good as was the cookie (it was like 1/2 scone and 1/2 cookie)! Overall, Hymie's exceeded my expectations and I'll look forward to returning.
