Stopped by again during the middle of the morning over the weekend. I've been a regular customer here over the past few years, and usually stop in for long sessions of working. Staff: super friendly. There's a bunch of banking staff standing around that tend to be the more friendly folks, welcoming you in when you walk in. But the folks behind the counter are also helpful too! Food: definitely with hiked up prices even for Rittenhouse. Having a Capital One card brings a 50% discount, which brings it to slightly below average prices, but if you're not a customer, don't expect quality that makes what you're paying. Still decent though! They've got a nice selection of seasonal drinks, serve Verve, and also have fun Capital One branded giveaways every once in a while. There's tons of seating, BUT it tends to all get taken up quite quickly. Sometimes there's some unhoused around the building, including in the bathrooms despite needing a code to get in, but it's not too much of a detraction of it being a good working and gathering space. read more

I've had accounts with nearly a dozen banks over the years, and Capital One stands out as my favorite. Saw that this cafe is open fairly late until 7pm. They do half off drinks if you pay with your capital one card. This place is really busy for a cafe; a lot of the tables are filled up and they is somewhat of a line to either order or receive your drink. My 1st drink was a honey lavender latte, which had a good flavor! You definitely need to mix it bc the honey pools at the bottom but it has that synthetic lavender taste which I don't love but it tries to have a floral taste. My second drink I had recently was the blueberry ube latte which was surprisingly okay but definitely tastes more of blueberry or like a flavored latte. The ube isn't really present and it has that color of a generic latte. I've heard that the blueberry ube and blueberry matcha are really popular though. As for seating, there's an upstairs and a downstairs with various small circle tables or high rectangular tables. I think if you want a seat with an outlet, you should probably get there earlier in the day. read more

Capital One Cafe is SLEPT ON. This large co-working space offers plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs. It's almost always busy, so come early if you are trying to grab a spot for the day. The serve your standard variety of drinks and few food options. I've never tried the food, but have seen others grab it and it looks good! While their drinks are your standard "too expensive but I guess it's okay for center city", if you use your Capital One or Discover card, suddenly you are getting the cheapest coffee you've had since 2007 And most importantly, it's delicious. It feels weird to review a bank but it's also a coffee shop! In fact, you'd be forgiven for not even noticing the bank, because it's so out of your way and muted compared to the coffee shop experience. Capital One Cafe is awkward to review because they do give 50% off for Capital One customers and I'm sure a lot of these reviews take that into account. They should because the coffee drinks can be hit or miss in terms of quality. The tea though (and I'm a tea guy) is fantastic and they use high quality stuff. They also have plenty of seating locations so it's a great place to work from. And the staff has always been at least friendly to me, never curt or arrogant. That said, if you're aiming for the highest quality coffee, no, don't go to Capital One. But if you want a good place to work from, especially if you're a Capital One customer, you can't beat the discount. And now the part no one ever reviews: - Water: They would give free water if you ask and I didn't recall it being too bad given Philly. - Restrooms: There are two Men/Women Restrooms up stairs but it requires a PIN from the baristas - Accessibility: There is an elevator there so it's fully accessible - Seating: There's plenty of seating and workspaces throughout but it being in Center City, everyone knows this, and it gets busy fast anyway. read more

They use the verve coffee beans and offer a variety of different types of coffee drinks ranging from cold brew, drip coffee, pour over, lattes, cappuccinos, americano, espresso, americano, basically anything you could think of. I recommend checking out their menu if you're a coffee enthusiast. Some of their featured coffees even tell you what type of coffee they use! From the baristas to the cashier, all the staff were super friendly and welcoming. A huge shoutout to Alex for making me feel welcomed every time. :) I've tried plain coffees and lattes in which all were of high quality. What I really like about their drinks is that even if you ask for it to be sweetened, they don't sweeten it too much to the point where it's cloying. They're always consistent with the amount of sweetness. Though, I have to say that their iced lattes have a stronger coffee taste than their hot ones. TIP: you get 50% off if you have a capital one card! The interior is well lit with ample amount of seating. The decor and seating areas all have a modern and clean design that make it the perfect coworking/studying space. Most seats easily have an outlet nearby that's accessible. They even have an upstairs section where you would be able to find more seats to sit down to get some work done. Fantastic concept hindered by lackluster execution. This location offers a spacious workspace with plenty of tables and access to charging outlets. The space also features multiple group workspaces which can be reserved in advance. The bank is also present, but not "in your face". The coffee itself is quite mediocre and overpriced, and unfortunately many menu offerings are unavailable when ordering. The baristas appear to be overwhelmed and undertrained. Overall a reliable workspace but would come here with tempered expectations regarding their coffee. read more

I was super excited to try their drinks after realizing they are the only place in Philly that serves Verve coffee. The mocha was a little sweet and less creamy - contrary to what I was expecting. Maybe I'll try their cappuccino next time. Matcha was good and tasted high quality - I believe they use Rishi Tea. +1 because they don't add sugar to it. I am a bit disappointed with this location. Well, space wise it has 2 floors and it seems spacious enough. However, compared to the KOP location it is not welcoming. The woman who was taking my order was not helpful at all. She showed all types of body language that she did not want to be here. When I asked her about certain drinks her answer was said in a blunt manner that she hasn't tasted so she doesn't know. I ordered decaf lavender almond milk latte based on the fact that she said it is not sweet if they put less syrup. When I got the drink it was super sweet. Now I am doubting it is even a decaf (bracing myself for being up all night). Things I love about this location: the coworking atmosphere, rentable community room, great lighting, very accessible via public transit! Things I wish were different: the coffee. I've received: upside down americanos with the shots pulled and poured off, nitro cold brew shot into a glass over ice (without request) so the "nitro"/CO2 activate with the extreme temp difference and it completely deflates the drink... the barista even let it spill over and attempted to smoosh the foam inside the still bubbling cup and serve it to me, and tepid lattes. I've been met with subtle eye rolls from some of the staff when I ask for my drink to be corrected so I've learned to just deal when they hand me something mid. I return to this space because I want to support third spaces and this is one of the locations that has strong enough wifi for me and peers to work together, but I wish their coffee program were much, much stronger. read more

Everyone is welcome wether you bank with capital one or not. But for the Capital One card holder's, it's 50% off any handcrafted beverages. The cafe has two floors -- First floor has a huge space to hang out, chill and recharge. The second Floor has a more quiet vibe perfect for reading, studying, or doing some computer work. They serve handcrafted coffee and Teas from Verve Coffee Roasters. I ordered the Honey Lavander Latte, and it was perfect! They have a few small bites in the menu including pastries, fresh fruit, and parfaits. I gotta say there Customer service here is superb.
