I think we have found a new Sunday brunch diner. New and fresh looking inside. Breakfast was great. I had the Monte Cristo which I really enjoyed. Very diverse breakfast menu. A few of the ladies had the half orders which was plenty. My wife likes her bacon well done and the cook made it perfect. We will be back read more

We stopped in Gladwin as a midway point to Traverse City. We were pleasantly surprised by Mack's on main! The food was great, the staff was awesome, and the wait for our food was short even though they were super busy. Even our 3 1/2 year-old enjoyed his pancakes. It was so good that we are heading back there again today for breakfast! If you're ever in Gladwin, this is a must stop! read more

What can I say, that hasn't already been said? It's true, the jam is really good, so good that I took the half that I didn't use and put it in my to go box with the rest of my leftovers. I ordered the 2 Eggs w/ hashbrowns and 4 oz Ribeye Steak and everything was cooked perfectly. It was refreshing to have Ribeye as a meat option along with the usual bacon and sausage and I appreciated the seasoned salt they put on top of the steak. Good Coffee. This was a great breakfast. I went on a Sunday morning. It was very busy, but the tables turned over quickly. Definitely a hidden gem in Gladwin. My son had the kid pancakes which came in the shape of Mickey Mouse and 2 huge strips of bacon. He ate the whole plate and said this was his most favorite restaurant in the world. I had a meat lovers omelette which was loaded with toppings. The portions were huge. My coffee cup was constantly filled. Toast came served with their homemade jam which was excellent. My husband and I LOVE Mac's on Main! We live downstate and have a cabin in Gladwin, and we make a point to go to Mac's every time we are up north, usually for breakfast. They have the best omelets I have ever had! I usually get the meat lovers omelet flat top style, and my husband gets the farmers omelet, which are both awesome! Also, their jam is amazing! read more

I would really love this place to be good, but it is absolutely horrible. To start with, the staff is too lazy to seat you. From there is a waitress that would rather fill containers than come wait on you. After almost 10 minutes she finally brought over a menu and took a drink order. My entree came with salad bar and it looked good, but they need to replace the lettuce tongs as the ones that are there are so bent up that they are barely useable. My salad was long gone so I watched interactions between staff (more had arrived) and customers. My waitress was complaining quite loudly that she didn't usually work Friday nights and it was not her responsibility to learn what the fish specials were. She walked up to a table and told the customers there that she was sorry about it and it wasn't her fault that she didn't know what the specials were. I couldn't believe the unprofessional behavior. My entree finally came, it was the 3 Piece Fish. It comes with choice of potato, fries for me, and some canned green beans. It was perhaps one of the worst fish dinners I have ever had.
