Additionally, unnecessary tests were not even discussed; whereas, the last vet we went to would automatically need to do cultures and blood panels at the cost of hundreds of dollars. Instead, based on observation via the exam and the symptoms and behavior we described, we were given a prescription to try. This did the trick and the concerns have not only resolved; but it seems our dog is feeling better and is on the mend. The only cause of concern was aseptic techniques were not observed but when questioned the vet was quick to acknowledge and left the room to wash up and resolve the issue. Both my husband and I have medical backgrounds so we tend to be more concerned about blood borne pathogens than the average person so this may have been something most people would not be concerned with or have noticed. Nevertheless, we still highly recommend this practice as affordable, knowledgeable and more importantly as one that does not view the owners as just a way to charge more for tests than is necessary. Being given options with informed information to make decisions from a financial perspective that is in line with our budget without being made to feel uncomfortable was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Many thanks to Flatt Veterinary Clinic for the care and treatment of our fur baby.

Was tested and labs show end stage renal failure. Recommendation was for a medication and appetite stimulant and to see how he did. 1 week later he was outside chasing a squirrel in the back yard. Now 60 days in and he acts like he did 5 years ago, running and eating and happy. I cannot say enough about how they have taken care of my 2 old dogs. Their quality of life has vastly improved and if I loose either one anytime soon I know they were treated as best as possible and given quality time in their remaining days thanks to the staff and veterinarians who have treated them!

I am leaving this review after a deeply distressing experience that other pet owners deserve to be…read moreaware of. Earlier the same morning, White House Animal Clinic examined my cat and charged nearly $700, treating his condition as an upper respiratory infection. That evening, his condition worsened into respiratory distress, and I called the clinic seeking urgent guidance. I explained that we had already been seen that morning and that we did not have the funds for a specialty emergency hospital in Nashville. I was first told to take him there anyway. When I said this was not financially possible and asked what options existed locally, I was advised to bring him in so they could euthanize him. This recommendation was made over the phone, without discussion of stabilization, without referral to a closer clinic with oxygen support, and without exploration of alternatives. When I questioned how euthanasia could be suggested under these circumstances, the recommendation was simply repeated. For context, we sought care elsewhere. My cat received oxygen, IV fluids, and fever management. Further evaluation showed the issue was not simply an upper respiratory infection, but involved a bite wound, FIV, and a dangerously high fever. He survived the night and is now recovering at home. I understand that medicine is complex. What I cannot accept is the way this emergency was handled -- without compassion, without options, and without appropriate referral after significant same-day charges.

Needed to rule out some other issues from when he was kenneled prior to us owning our baby. The staff was not as personable as I've gotten used to here in Lebanon, the doctor seemed competent BUT the price was outrageous. Could I have shopped around for a better price? Sure. But we didn't have time as our pup was in pain. Post surgery my pup came home with a nasty sounding cough - think elephant seal mating call. When i mentioned that at our post of visit - the doctor suggested a full blood/virus panel starting at $350. Hard pass. It took three phone calls to the office abs a reminder email to obtain copies of the X-rays and record of surgeries for my regular vet office. - unacceptable. Went back to our regular vet and asked if he needed that blood panel etc - honestly no, was the answer. Pup is fully vaccinated, kennel cough, bordatella, flu etc. pup still has the cough THREE MONTHS LATER. In summary - the last time I spent they much at a veterinary office I was in Newport Beach, CA at an office on with an ocean view and was offered a glass of Chardonnay as I waited for my pup. Won't be back

They may, or may not, have a vet on call if your pet has an emergency after hours. It depends on if the vet decides he wants to come in or not. They will tell you to keep your pet comfortable until they open the next morning, or take your pet to Nashville. They don't even have the decency to call and see what's going on with your pet, even though it's a patient of theirs. That's how concerned they are about your pet. My pet had to be put to sleep the following day because no vet would show up to see him at midnight on a Sunday night because he had a busy weekend. Oh, and by the way, changing the web site to say 24 hour emergency instead of 24/7 doesn't change a thing. You still don't offer 24 hour emergency service, and are putting people's pets in danger. This will still be reported to the appropriate people!
