Words cannot express how much Mac's Canine has changed my life and Scout's life! I've spent thousands of dollars and almost 1.5 years on several different training locations, programs, companies and trainers, but continued to struggle with Scout's reactivity and fear. Mac's Canine fixed all of that within a couple weeks. Scout used to have high reactivity to other dogs and trouble with any new dog she met. She also has a tendency to be fearful and skittish of anything new in general. But her training with Mac's Canine fixed all of these thing. It also helped with even more things that I didn't even know we needed! Going from a vocal, nervous dog that twists and turns on the leash to a happy, mellow dog that can stay in down command in the middle of a park is life changing. I never thought there would be a day where I could drop her leash and not worry about her bolting off because of some sort of distraction, but here we are. If you are looking for a trainer, look no further and pick Mac's Canine.

Our 7-month-old labradoodle puppy, Winnie, was such a pain to take on walks - she pulled and would not listen at all! She also was a "counter-surfer" and would not leave us alone while we cooked or ate dinner. After taking part in the board and train program with Cynthia and her team, she now walks beautifully at my side and I get compliments all the time! She also will go to her "place" and stay while we cook and eat. It is glorious! The first week Winnie was back home with us, I had both a UPS and FedEx driver come to my door with packages while I worked in the garage. Winnie sat on the lawn, unleashed, and did not move while she watched the drivers drop the packages off at our door. The driver told me, "That is one well-behaved dog!" I could not contain my pride in Winnie's newfound self-control. Cynthia and her team of trainers at Mac's Canine Consultants really know their stuff! And they do the job with kindness, compassion, and love for the dogs (and owners). We're so grateful!

We love Cynthia and all of Mac's canine staff!! I've done a lot of research in the oc and la area trying to find a trustworthy trainer for my pup, from recommendation, Yelp, blogs, making many phone calls. I found out about Cynthia from my friend and other dog owners at the dog park I frequently visited. They all had great things to say and I witnessed the positive improvements that were made. During our consultation, Cynthia took the time to really understand the situation, our goals and did a great job setting expectations for our pup Haku after assessing his behavior. Shiba owners here and the staff are sooo understanding. Haku is 2 years old doesn't like strangers and experienced traumatic encounters with other dogs and people. He is the sweetest pup but he can be aggressive and bite when triggered. Cynthia and her staff helped to build his confidence and his trust with people and other dogs. We saw a distinct improvement with his behavior after 3 weeks and she taught us how to distract him before he gets fixated. Cynthia and Carnessa continued to help us with our questions provided excellent advice even after the bootcamp. We are still learning and being trained. It's worth it because he's been a lot happier, he walks very confidently and absolutely enjoys the group sessions. He doesn't pull during his walks and is able to stay in place during the entire duration of a meal. He still has his triggers and fixation but now we are more equipped to handle and mitigate the situation and he's still improving! I truly can't say enough good things about Cynthia! She is fun to work with, responsive and truly cares about your dog and goes the extra mile for them. 1000% recommend.

Cynthia and the whole Mac's Canine Consultant team are just absolutely incredible. We were recommended to work with Cynthia after my sister very successfully worked with her on her two pups. We started working with Cynthia when we got our first Sheepadoodle puppy this year in February and had our first 1 on 1 lessons when he was 2 months old. Cynthia is extremely knowledgable, fun to work with, and simultaneously gets down to business. She really helped us get our pup trained with love, care, and patience. She helped us navigate some of the most difficult moments of puppy training and made us feel like we would get through it and she was right! She has great recommendations on what training tools to use (collars, leashes, crates, treats, etc) and really thoroughly showed us/explained what do with everything. Cynthia traveled to us and would meet us at locations for our lessons which made it even more convenient. Our lessons were custom, personalized, and never one size fits all, which really made us feel like she really cares about each individual dog. Her teaching style is really helpful and clear. She showed us and explained what she wanted us to work on and she would take over occasionally to assist or demonstrate a concept. This made it so much easier for our dog to listen to us in-between sessions. After every lesson with Cynthia our pup listened to us more and more. She also gave us homework to work on which was helpful to have concrete plans of things to work on in between training sessions. If it wasn't for Cynthia's help, we would have a very naughty puppy! I truly think Cynthia is a magical dog whisperer! In addition to our 1 on 1 training, we've also been lucky to have our pup go to DayCare and Boarding with Cynthia and her team. These two other services are equally just as amazing! At DayCare our pup got to play and socialize with other dogs safely (a big important thing especially during the pandemic) and continue his training. At boarding, we felt so so comfortable leaving him there, knowing that he was in good hands and safe. At boarding, he got to socialize with other dogs, continue his training, went on frequent walks, and came home a very happy (and tired!) puppy. There is no one else I would feel comfortable leaving our pup with. In addition to Cynthia's overall awesome knowledge, what is even more wonderful is that you truly can see that Cynthia and her team deeply and genuinely care. It's not just about making money, but really about the dogs and their future happiness and well-being. I would 150% recommend anyone and everyone work with Mac's Canine Consultants for any dog training needs!

I found Mac's Canine Consultants through a friend who had sent their puppy to the board and train program & had great results. I was glad to have listened to my friend because they were amazing with my puppy! I sent my 7 month old puppy to their 18 day board & train program to primarily focus on loose leash walking and socializing with other pups and after the 18 days, our puppy was a changed dog! We were finally able to take her on walks without her pulling the entire time. I was also glad to see her make new dog friends. One thing I really appreciated was the daily updates that Cynthia and her team would send about my puppy and what she was doing that day. I loved seeing the pictures & videos everyday!! I would recommend this business to anyone that is looking to send their puppy to a board & train program!

We heard about Mac's Canine Consultants and Cynthia through a family member. Our dog, Daisy, is a senior dog (8 years old) who is very anxious. She struggled with issues such as barking, leash pulling, aggression and separation anxiety. You know the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Well it could not be further from the truth with our experience with Cynthia. We did the 2 week board + train for Daisy and she was like a brand new dog when she came back. We were so impressed by the calm and balanced dog we were seeing! After the board + train, we attended group class for Daisy to hone in on the skills she learned. There was minimal to no leash pulling and she was able to maintain a sit even off leash. Normally, she would move and jump at anyone or anything distracting in the environment. There were loud sounds, people, other dogs and children (she hates children lmao) yet no reactivity from Daisy. I can tell Cynthia really loves dogs and is providing services because she is truly passionate about helping dogs rather than doing it for the money. As an owner of an anxious dog, I get really embarrassed and flustered when my dog acts out and I can't regain control. Cynthia knows the struggle and is understanding about this. It's evidenced in the way she teaches her group class! She comes from a place of empathy, patience and love. Even after Daisy's board + train ended, Cynthia made herself available through text, phone and Marco Polo. When I was struggling with crate training Daisy, I contacted Cynthia for tips and emotional support and I really appreciated her being there for me. We are so grateful for everything she's done for Daisy. Daisy's life and ours are better for it!

We love Cynthia! We have two miniature dachshunds. Initially we contacted her because our older doxie was very insecure and reactive. We never thought we'd be able to take him anywhere honestly. Anytime another dog walked down the street even on the other side he would react by barking and pulling. We enrolled him for a 2 week board & train with Cynthia. He came back a whole new dog! We're so happy he's able to be around other dogs now without having anxiety. We were so happy with the results that we also enrolled our new puppy. Now we have two very well behaved and happy doggies. We've also left them with her when we were out of town. There's no one I trust more to take care of my babies with the utmost care! I only wish I met Cynthia sooner.

Just ran 6 miles in public well-behaved right after Board and Train

I had my rescue (who was highly super sensitive, biting, insecure, aggressive) GSD 7 months before I decided that Cynthia was going to be the last resort for us. Prior to Board and Train we used Cynthia's other services such a Doggie Daycare and Board for the weekend! Our dog got so much structure, training, play time, rest time and love from Cynthia and everyone on her team! It makes going away a lot less stressful when you know your dog is in the right hands. We also used 2 weeks board and train with Cynthia Jan 2021 and when Hazel came back she was unrecognizable! She learned to be calm, to listen, stay in place, had a potty schedule, could walk with tons of distractions in public and give me "eyes" and not react. She did not care so much about other people, dogs, distractions, but wanted to please ME! Cynthia truly was a blessing, she got my GSD in a place where we could have her at home again and ENJOY her. I was able to take Hazel in public with no issues right after we got her back. We continue to train daily to continue what she learned from Cynthia but now I am able to live and enjoy Hazel. Cynthia and Keith are phenomenal people with huge hearts for all dogs and we are so grateful for them! If you are searching for help with your dog Cynthia will come out and assess your dog initially and explain to you in detail what to expect from her training. She also trains you too because you have to know how to train your dog, she gives you the ins and outs and lots of helpful pointers, provides you with video of your dog while your dog is at Board and Train which is super helpful. I had tons of questions for Cynthia and she was always so patient answering them and even when Hazel was back at home with us. The follow-up is amazing! Check out Macs Canine Consultant if your dog needs training!

    Happy dog!

Cynthia and Keith at Mac's Canine Consultants are absolutely amazing! We had our dog go through a two week board and train with them and she came back a different dog (in the best way!). Before, she was leash aggressive and difficult to walk. Now, she is attentive, happy and listens to commands on and off leash. She has gained a confidence that she has never had before and we are now able to take her to restaurants, walking around parks, beaches or even busy shopping centers without so much as a worry. I have recommended Mac's Canine Consultants to family and friends and continue to use them for weekly walks and boarding! Highly recommended!

    Good sit.

Cynthia and team have been amazing for both our dogs!! We loved the private sessions and especially love weekly group classes. Can't wait to try new boarding facility!!

I had to find a last minute dog boarding for my little guy around Newport Beach when I was visiting overnight. I found Cynthia through yelp and she was awesome. My dog is very calm but get a little trapped when around big dogs. I told Cynthia and she just sent a nice picture of Snoopy hanging with a German Shepherd. Cynthia really understand the dogs and their behavior. Thank you very much for accepting us at last minute, for taking care of Snoopy and teaching him how to behave around big dogs. I wish we lived closer to have your training sections with him. Price is reasonable and I'm glad he was back with no fleas ( he always get some on big dog hotels/ boarding)

Cynthia and Keith are great dog trainers. We sent our boy to them for a one-week training program, and they took great care of him, sent us pictures very often, and always replied fast. By the time we came back, our boy looked very happy and enjoyed his time there. The second we dropped off our boy, he was really excited when he realized we are on the way to Cynthia's place. Also, he became even more gentle than before. So, yea. We will always come back again.

Cynthia and Keith are fantastic. My rescue Pittie had picked up some bad habits and hadn't been trained for the first 3 years of her life. Cynthia's training program did wonders for us, and my pittie loves their daycare as well. They genuinely care about the dogs and it's obvious. Please do yourself a favor and use them!

First trip to target for training with Cynthia!

I'd worked with two trainers, including a 3 week board-and-train program ($5,000 investment), followed every instruction, and practiced daily, yet I didn't see changes. I was managing the behavior without ever understanding what was causing it. That changed within the first two hours with Brad. He didn't start with commands or tools. Instead, he focused on the psychology behind Sunny's reactions: what was driving them, what was reinforcing them, and what I was unknowingly communicating. No one had ever explained it that clearly. That was the turning point. For the first time, I wasn't guessing or correcting blindly. I could see what Sunny was experiencing in real time and understand how my timing, energy, and responses were shaping his behavior. That clarity changed everything. Walks feel completely different now. Sunny is no longer pulls since my training with Brad, the reactive outbursts are gone, and the experience itself is calm. I'm no longer bracing for problems because I know how to prevent them. I am SO appreciative!

Great experience! We have an 8-year-old rescue Golden…read moreRetriever who developed some habits we wanted to correct and weren't able to do on our own with traditional training. A couple of these weren't terribly serious, but we felt we weren't "in charge" anymore, that our dog wasn't getting the message from whatever we were doing, and that if we didn't do something different, it could really get out of control. Brad really helped us with this, where traditional "training" wasn't working. We have two or three things we're working on with our girl, but here is the most dramatic change we had with one issue. She is very food motivated, and would beg from us at the table whenever we sat down to eat, and would be underfoot in the kitchen during prep. She got overly excited and would not settle and lie down. Brad explained we weren't communicating well with her on a dog level, so to get that communication kicked in to gear, he actually started our session not with this problem, but with making sure she would not dash out the front door when it was opened. This was to establish that we were in charge and what was expected of her. What he showed us how to do worked like you wouldn't believe. It was like a light bulb went off for our girl. What we did affected everything after that. It wasn't about dashing out the door, it wasn't about begging for food, it was about knowing what was acceptable in our pack and to look to us for direction. That night, at dinner, she went to her "spot" with a simple direction and was relaxed during our entire meal. She can now be directed to her spot and will stay quietly any time we need her to. Best of all, she seems truly relieved that she doesn't have to be in charge and that WE are. She is much more relaxed around so many other things. It gave us so much more confidence! I didn't think that what Brad taught us would work. It's quite counterintuitive. But trust me, it worked like magic. This is not dog training - it's communication with your dog. Brad answers all your questions, doesn't waste your time, shows you clearly and directly what will work. We're so thankful we found him!

She would bark at everyone and everything, and was just SO anxious and nervous (understandably) in public. Other trainers we looked into wanted to use shock collars and other more aggressive forms of discipline on her, but I knew Patty didn't need more trauma to help her calm down. Bryndon, on the other hand, was patient, kind, and used treats and other strategies to help Patty gradually feel comfortable on walks. When he got her to go into a dog park - WITH NO LEASH - I was literally speechless (in a good way!). I never thought that would be an option for Patty, but here she was going up to other dogs and walking around without growling, barking, or lunging at them. After 4-5 weeks of training, I'm now able to take Patty to a dog park on my own, off leash, and she actually PLAYS with other dogs all on her own! I literally teared up the first time I saw her running and playing with other dogs; this was something I never thought would happen because so many other people and trainers told me that Patty would probably always be aggressive and scared. Now, she loves dog parks and I'm planning on enrolling her in agility classes in the future - just like Bryndon said would be a possibility one day. I cannot praise him enough. Trust him with your dog because he will take help them through patience, kind words, and care, and not through fear, pain, or aggression, which our dogs don't deserve.

I adopted Maya, a young Belgian Malinois mix, a few months ago. She came from an extremely abusive…read moresituation and had pretty severe behavioral and reactivity issues that needed to be addressed. I searched around extensively and contacted a few different trainers and specialists, but remained skeptical (worried about finding someone good enough to handle Maya). However, I finally managed to come across Bryndon who seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Within minutes of the first introductory session, I could tell Bryndon knew exactly what he was doing and gave me the confidence that I had made the right choice. He experienced first-hand what Maya's reactivity was like, and yet by the end of the first introductory session, he already managed to showcase how we could help her improve. I knew that her issues were bad enough that it would take a very long time for her to get better, but to my surprise she showed massive improvements literally within the first few sessions. Most importantly, he showed and taught me what I needed to do to help guide her along, which was my biggest worry. We've both learned a lot (and got to learn a lot of tricks along the way lol). I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have chosen him as Maya's trainer. He listens to your needs and concerns and actually addresses them, is extremely well informed, and gives you and your dog the confidence they need to be better. He has a good mentality towards training dogs and utilizes positive reinforcement to help correct the source of issues rather than training that only serves to suppress and hide the bad behaviors/triggers. I don't say this lightly, but I cannot recommend Bryndon enough! If you are someone like me who was both highly skeptical and unsure, try meeting him for an intro, he is very approachable and friendly, and is genuinely honest enough to tell you if he's the right fit or not. Thank you Bryndon!!!

Vladae has an incredible ability to understand dogs. Watching him read a dog's behavior, body language, and mindset is genuinely fascinating. He knows exactly how to communicate with each dog in a way they understand, and it's clear this comes from years of experience and a deep understanding of canine psychology. He's also one of the most invested professionals we've ever worked with. Throughout the week, he encourages us to send videos, provides thoughtful feedback almost immediately, and is always available to answer questions or jump on a call if we need guidance. You never feel like you're figuring things out on your own. He truly cares about both the dogs and the people raising them, and he always follows through. Every recommendation Vladae has made, whether it's training tools, techniques, or daily routines, has become an essential part of Coach's development. We trusted the process from day one, and the results truly speak for themselves. (See the videos! Coach is only 6.5 months old in them.) Our puppy is happy, confident, well-mannered, and genuinely loves learning. We receive compliments on his behavior everywhere we go, and we owe so much of that to the foundation Vladae helped us build. We also had the opportunity to work with Erica, who trains alongside Vladae, and she was absolutely wonderful. One session with Erica is included in the program, and it was incredibly helpful. It's clear she shares the same passion, knowledge, and dedication that make this training program so special. Vladae brings unmatched energy, professionalism, and passion to every session. He genuinely wants every dog and every owner to succeed, and that level of commitment is incredibly rare to find. If you're looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs and is committed to setting both you and your dog up for long-term success, I can't recommend Vladae highly enough. Coach has become an incredible puppy, and we're excited to continue into adult school because of the foundation he's helped us build. We're so grateful we found him!

While it's understandable to feel upset when receiving negative feedback, it's important to reflect on the reasons behind my review. I noticed that during our initial interaction, you made a comment about my background that many found to be a stereotypical and racist remark. In fact, I saw that you previously posted video footage of our encounter on your Instagram, but you removed it after receiving backlash for those comments. This indicates that others found your remarks concerning as well. I want to emphasize that my intention was never to harm your business; rather, it was to share my experience. Thankfully, I have since found another trainer who practices positive reinforcement, which aligns much better with my values and my dog's needs.

We brought him in at 13 weeks to the EveryPup Program, where he is in a clean and disinfected facility with other safe and healthy pups and he gets training every day by Dave. Almost from day 1 we started noticing huge changes, and he matured so rapidly it's like we have a different dog! He is very calm, polite and attentive, and has been able to self-regulate so well. Dave is always available for our questions and follow ups, and he sends over progress notes and photos every day from training sessions. We also would ask him about problem behavior such as counter surfing or jumping up on people to greet, and Dave would target those specific behaviors as well. We also appreciated how fast and quickly they acted on our puppy swallowing something he shouldn't have, and immediately gave him some hydrogen peroxide to get him to throw it up, which saved us from extremely expensive and likely traumatic vet visits and possible surgery. Very grateful! Every day we pick up our puppy he is so happy from a day of playing and getting love from all the staff, and is tired and ready for some cuddles and naps when he gets home. The staff here are so caring and really love each dog, I trust them to take care of our puppy. Highly recommend!

On May 21, I received an email that their location had closed THE DAY BEFORE and that Long Beach and Lakewood would honor up to 5 class credits. Wtf. I went back to all my previous emails from Zoom Room HB and there was not a single announcement that they will be closing down. We immediately emailed the business requesting a refund for the unused credits and it has been over a week and we kept being told by Vince to be patient. My partner asked for a timeline, and in which Vince had requested another 5 days. I had filed a dispute for a portion of refund with my credit card company before they completely disappear. As someone in property management, the business owner would have at least known 60 days in advance (maybe even earlier depending on their lease contract) that they will not be renewing. They decided to wait until the day after closure to announce they are permanently closed to not deal with in person questions from their customers.

We never felt rushed to finish a lesson when he came to the house, he just dealt with our issues and reminded us to keep practicing with our dog until next time. We even decided to enroll in his weekly puppy class so that our puppy would learn to behave around other dogs.
