We had just finished lunch at a restaurant on Fraser St. and were searching for bubble tea. Our friends suggested this Boba Monster shop so we gave it a try. Our daughter had a Honeydew drink, my husband had a Mango drink and I had the Very Pistachio. 2/3 drinks were good. The one that wasn't so great was the Mango drink. It had absolutely no flavor in it whatsoever. Can't remember exactly what the drink was called but my husband was looking for something dairy free so it was most likely some kind of Mango slush. Disclaimer: I only visit this place once and order one drink. I got one of their most popular drink: Pina Colada with boba. The drink has coconut and pineapple flavoured and from the very first sip, the artificial flavours is so clear that I can't drink more than a third of it. The positive side is the boba is quite soft and nice. And this is one of their most popular options so unfortunately I don't think I will come back. read more

An unseeming place on a street spanning 3-4 other boba competitors Boba Monster stands out! It's a bit small and hard to look out for if you are driving, Boba Monster can be easily missed. Store is definitely family owned and operated and it is small and somewhat messy. I think they had ideas for creating IG vibes for photo oppt. but gave up after awhile. My oolong MT with brown sugar Boba looked really sweet, but when I drank it it was a perfect balance! I don't think there is any customization, but it was great as is! The boba was not overly sweet nor too soft..perfect QQ texture. The drink itself could probably use a bit more tea flavour, but overall it was fantastic! What we got: Boba Monster Milk Tea ($6.95) Strawberry Cheesecake ($7.25) Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea ($6.95) Wild Lychee ($6.25) Oreo ($7.25) All the drinks were good, but the Strawberry Cheesecake was exceptional. I have a feeling that the ice cream scoops on top of some of these drinks melted a bit too quickly. Just my opinion though Bobas had an overall good texture, but some were a bit too hard - could be a bit more chewy for me. The grass jelly jello in the Boba Monster Milk Tea was hard to taste, but the sweet bobas certainly made up for it! Good balance in flavour for all of the drinks. The guy behind the counter was fast at taking our orders, and another person quickly made our drinks. All drinks were served within 5 minutes. Fun fact: loitering IS allowed! I've been to Boba Monster more times than I can count. It's nestled in between two other BBT spots; Green Leaf Bubble Tea and L&G Bubble Tea. Talk about competition. It's bright, white and clean inside. They have board games and two dartboards to keep you entertained. Menu consists of their Monster 8 or else you can customize your own drink by picking the flavour, base, style and toppings. They have a rewards card/program where you collect points to get different deals. The best part is a free drink on your birthday! Trip #1 First visit, we dropped in on a Monday evening (around 8:30pm). - Mango sago ($6.00) - I added mini bobas ($0.50). It came with mango stars, sago, whip cream, mango chunks and mango puree. Pretty good except the sago tasted frozen. - Fresh fruit mango ($5.50) - green tea slush with mango and mini boba. B really liked her mini bobas; they were warm and freshly made. Trip #2 We grabbed BBT takeout on a Friday evening. Called to order and it was ready within 15 minutes. - Milk tea ($6.00) - shaken milk tea with boba, grass jelly, pudding and vanilla ice cream. We got this 50% sweet, which was a good call on our part. Slight roasted milk tea taste to it. - Mango sago ($6.00) - Pina colada ($4.50) - pineapple coconut slush mix with whip cream, coconut flakes and pineapple drizzle. I enjoyed an iced kiwi passionfruit drink. The passionfruit seed bits and and passionfruit jelly were a nice touch, and I customized the ice level as well. I like the variety of drinks they have, from fruity summer specials (iced to slushed) to the typical brown sugar boba tea families. So cute!! I fell in love with the name alone!! There is street parking along the front of the store. I went here around noon, and there was plenty of parking. The guy was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He filled us in on the popular choices and gave his preference, and why he likes it. We were visiting from the US and did not change our money because most places took USD, but they didnt. He was patient as we figured out a resolution to our problem. We scrambled up all the Canadian coins we had, put them together, and ended up being able to get 2 drinks. YAY!! We got the boba monster milk tea and the oreo. The monster milk tea comes topped with boba, pudding, grass jelly, and ICE CREAMMM!!! He had me at ice cream I opted out on the boba because it would've been too busy for me it was really good, but after I left I realized that I forgot to get my drink less sweet. I feel like if it was slightly sweeter it would've been amazing. Don't get me wrong... it was still bomb. The oreo was really good too. I felt like it was just thick enough without being too thick. Boba Monster making me a jealous monster that you're not in Seattle!!!! (T^T) The menu caught my eye immediately with their specials. As much as I wanted to try more regular flavors to compare with Seattle's boba game, I couldn't pass up mango sago! This drink has easily become the best mango sago I've had including places in Seattle's Chinatown. Luckily, I was with a big big group of friends and got to sip on each drink. Not sure what was here before (I think it might've been another bubble tea shop) but this current incarnation is fairly decent. Parking is available on Fraser, as well as the side streets. The inside is brightly lit. Almost a bit too bright. It feels like an office with the white lights. Besides a few tables and the counter, there are also 2 dart machines. Looks like these things are popping up everywhere. The place uses an electronic (phone app) loyalty card that took a while of fiddling to work out. Maybe they were trying to be innovative, but an old school stamp one would've worked just fine. As for the bubble tea, they have quite a few types and toppings available. Their menu lays it out nice and simple, which definitely helps with the selection process. Most of their drinks use syrup, which is better than powder but not as good as real fruit. Can't comment on the bubbles as I didn't order any, but their lychee jelly was decent. Definitely worth checking out in the area, though there are other bubble tea shops in the direct vicinity. read more

I don't think their bubble tea are made for my taste buds. I came here and got the Mango Sago Bubble tea. I was told this is their most popular one. So I found it not good. But not yet to the point not drinkable. Reasons why?Well.. - Its a bit too sweet. - The tapioca are still raw. (they should at least cook it) - Weird white giant chunks in them and not sure what they are but not yummy at all - Stars are ok because it came out from a can - Cheap on mango - They did not use Ataulfo sweet mango. So mango was very sour. I do have to say their drinks are like the mango sago is cheaper than its Richmond Competitor. I try to come to this boba joint whenever I'm in Vancouver, only because it is literally the best bubble tea place I've ever tried! If you don't believe me, give this place a chance and order from their Monster 8 menu, you won't be disappointed. I would definitely recommend getting their Boba Monster Milk Tea. It has their shaken milk tea with pudding, grass jelly, tapioca pearls, and vanilla ice team, yum!!!! On our second day visiting Vancouver, my family and I had a huge craving for Boba after our dinner and needed a fix! So after looking at Yelp we thought Boba Monster would be a good place to remedy the cravings. Once we entered it took the cashier a bit to acknowledge us and to take our order. While waiting on the order I liked how they had different card and board games to play. You can really tell this is a place for young locals to get a drinks/snacks and hang out with friends. After having dinner on Fraser, a friend and I walked over to Boba Monster for a post-dinner chit chat around 9:00 PM on a Sunday. No one was inside, so we pretty much had the whole space to ourselves. The store was bright and clean. I was actually quite suprised at how clean the shop was. They had white tables and usually in other bubble tea places, you could see cup stains left behind by previous customers. I did not see any of that on the tables nor were they sticky on the surface. Kudos to Boba Monster! Being very indecisive as I have always been, I inquired about the Wild Lychee since no description was provided. The employee took the time to explain the drink thoroughly to me as a green tea based drink with lychee syrup along with popping boba and basil seeds. I was intrigued so I ordered the drink. He even offered to make it less sweet after expressing that I was worried it would be too sweet. My friend ordered a mango drink with sago? (Sorry I don't quite remember what it was). The drinks were ready relatively quickly. I thought it was very refreshing. However, I couldn't taste too much of the lychee. I enjoyed the drink even though it was still a tad too sweet. I don't even know how to describe the popping boba and basil seeds here, it was just very interesting to me. The popping boba itself were sweet when they popped, and it had a slimy, syrup-like texture. They were very generous regarding the amount of the boba and bail seeds (there were a lot of basil seeds!!) There were two dart machines in the corner of the store. We played a couple games before they informed us they were closing soon. The employee didn't rush us to leave but rather reassured us that it was more than okay to take our time to finish our game. Boba Monster originally caught my eye because of the cute illustrations and I jumped at the first chance to try their bubbletea. I decided to try their "Boba Monster Milk Tea" and my husband opted for the "Mango Sago". Their was also the option to customize your bubbletea from scratch which I will have to try next time. The milk tea really was a monster as it came with pearls, pudding, grass jelly, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. After reading the reviews I got mine half sweet and it's a good thing I did because it was still quite sugary. The milk tea flavour was pretty standard and the drink got progressively sweeter as the ice cream melted. I can't say I was a huge fan of all the fillings because I found the textures overwhelming and they clashed with each other. Individually the pearls were on point, the pudding was slightly gritty, and the grass jelly didn't have it's signature bitterness. Nothing special but good for people who are new to bubbletea. The mango sago on the other hand was fantastic. It came with sago, chunks of fresh mango, mango stars, and whipped cream to top it all off drizzled with a mango syrup. You can NEVER have enough mango. We got this one at the regular sweetness but found it quite pleasant. The flavour was mango-y and all the textures worked well with each other. However, the sago does tend to freeze up so if you're not a fan it might be better to sub it out. I would say that the price is fair for the amount that you are getting with the fixed drinks but I'll need to reevaluate that after trying the DIY menu. Flor, the cashier, was super knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions. I could tell that she was a fellow bubbletea enthusiast and I appreciated her insight. +1 for excellent customer service!! The shop has a darts corner and some boardgames to play and it is definitely a lot brighter than other places. It was perfect for a hot summer day though I don't know how cozy they'll be in the winter. All in all I had a pleasant first visit and I look forward to trying out some new things next time. read more

Came here since my friends wanted to try it out, and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior decor is really cute and fun, it's a great place to go to if you want to take food photos. The staff there were also really kind, one of my friends was running behind on schedule and we asked if we could just sit inside and wait for her as to just standing outside since we wanted to wait for her before ordering. They also had some board games available to play to kill time. As for the drinks they all tasted fine, nothing too special in my opinion. Though I would say that some of the menu items are very creative. For example, the Mango Cheesecake flavoured bubble tea, which by the way tastes really good! Came across this place with a craving for boba one night. Lots of patrons were there, service was friendly, cute decor/logos, they have a handful of small tables with some old school board games (yes for nostalgia!), a couple electronic dart machines, and I felt the drinks were pretty good. I got a passion fruit slush with lychee jelly which had just the right amount of sweetness - and my friend got a boba milk tea, which he thought was good but was a little overpriced. I also liked that they utilized a neat frequent eater/drinker's card that one can download on their phone, as well as find other establishments that do the same so you don't have to remember to carry all those punch cards with you. I love this place for their generous portions of pearls! They have a cute interior with a few seating and a TV. It is located on Fraser street which has many different restaurants. I ordered the mango fruit juice slush here. I think you can adjust the sweetness and ice level but not for the fruit juice/slush so it was on the sweeter side. The pearls were really good (QQ) and I can finish the drink without finishing my pearls first which is a plus because I love boba. read more

Told my badminton players aged 12-13 years old to order bub teas through Skip the Dishes. I was only paying if they did it all. I just had to log into my account and they were underway. I helped with the payment entry but that was it. 45 minutes later we were drinking some awesome teas. Yeah, it's so easy that a 7th grader can do it. We ordered all off the Monster 8 Menu. My Pina Colada was real tasty. The kids were in heaven. A few got the Oreo and Strawberry Shortcakes. They looked real good. The high school teams do this lots so it was nice for the younger kids to get a crack at it. Next time they'll be pitching $$$ in for their drinks. Of course we're doing it again and again. Just your average bubble tea place. I got a peach slush and the pearls were a bit warm which ruined the drink for me. I wanted a cool refreshing drink but I got something else.... The menu is a bit confusing and so is the app they have which gets you your 10th drink for free. I don't know why they don't just have those normal reward cards. Jenga and darts are fun though! So I finally got to try this place out during my break at work. I heard that it's quite busy. First thing you gotta know? It opens at 2 PM! I almost headed over there at 1pm. Lucky I went online to check out the drink offerings. When I got there it was a little busy and it took quite a bit of time to get my order in but they made my drink quite quickley. There seem to be alot of different offerings but I went for my regular black tea peach with boba. It was great and I took it down pretty fast. Their mango sago is, well, monster! Really don't need any boba when you order the mango sago, because the texture of the jelly and sago are really perfect. The sweetness is perfect to my liking, but the flavor of the mango isn't in any way dominated by the sugar. You still feel the tanginess (or sourness if you prefer to call it that) of a fresh mango. In addition, this place rocks for the fact that they have DARTSLIVE! I don't see a lot of DARTSLIVE machines in Seattle, let alone a boba place. Here you can enjoy some delicious non-alcoholic drinks while playing darts. read more

The person taking the orders has been helpful but efficient, and orders get turned around in a reasonable amount of time.
