I came here for the first time To pick up in a store order. The lines were long but they had an employee scanning people in and getting orders ready as people waited in line. The store was a little messy but it is the holiday season. I was very overwhelmed that day and the cashier was so nice to me and told me to take a deep breath and put my things away before walking off. Very compassionate of her because I legit felt like I was going to lose it that day. Went here on a whim traveling from the Bronx to the island. You see I'm from Nebraska and have recently traveled to Italy so you could say I'm well cultured. After being in Vatican City I was inspired by the modesty and culture and vibrations of the smallest country ever! Shocker! Anyway, came to MBS for some prices that would impress Edith, my new lover! The selection was okay and there was no gift shop. But the service man Gelbard and Gerald were quite kind. Macy's Backstage Queens Place is one of many locations that are considered "backstage' this basically just means the prices are a little lower and this is where a lot of the items that are unsold at their regular stores turn up at a discounted price. You can find many different things here such as Women's clothing, men's clothing, kids' clothing and even some Trendy fashion, which is a loose term with this place. I only stopped here for a few moments but from the little time I was in here I did end up buying a few things because the prices were pretty nice and the clothing I saw, I had seen in the past but did not want to spend the price on it when it was at full price so I was happy I found it here at a discounted price! A lot of the racks and shelving was disheveled so it was a little difficult to find some stuff as I was looking but it didn't stop me. The staff was decently friendly but not enough that I would approach one willingly. Cashier was unprofessional and dishonest. My friend and I after paid she tend to forget an item that was already charged. The item was behind the glass screen at the counter, so we weren't supposed to reach it because it was a cash register area. I asked her to give the item to us and she acted like she gave all to us but didn't. I had to point out and told her that item was belong to us. I have no idea what wrong with her. The reason why I didn't give lower star was because another staff help out and the stuff, they sell was interesting and the price point was good. read more

Have not been to Macy's Backstage for quite some time. It was relatively busy for the lines to check out was long. It's a very appealing store from the outside. The window displays entice you to come in for you see kids toys on the right as well and on the left see clothing on the racks. As you walk in, it's like a mini department store. Kind of like a TJ Maxx feel. See household items, perfume, clothing, toys, shoes, and other items thrown into the mix. Prices on some clothing items were $4.99 and up. Prices have definitely gone down. When it first opened there were mostly clothes and prices more expensive because they were designers. Tried taking pictures after leaving the store. Security at the mall was speaking a different language and said not to take photos and to stop. read more

Pretty good finds at this store that I haven't seen anywhere else. There was an issue where something I purchased wasn't in my bag when I got home. I called the store the next day to get help and Carlos and Oprah found my item and had it waiting for me when I arrived. I'm so grateful. What a wonderful addition to Queens Place. Macy's Backstage took over the old Daffy's location. Although the have the same concept I actually prefer Macy's Backstage over Daffy's any day. The prices here are significantly cheaper. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the cleanliness and the bags displayed oh so neatly in the left hand corner. I'm a sucker for cleanliness. Throw a bag or two in the mix and I'm all yours! I was pleasantly surprised with the aesthetically pleasing presentation of products. So pleased that I went downstairs to compare their prices to DSW and came back up to MB to purchase a makeup bag for $6 cheaper. One thing I'll have to say is that there's no sales associates walking the floor to help you should you need it. You're left alone and not harassed until you check out. read more

Ordered a mattress & box set on 11/10/18, and the next available day was two weeks away. Okay that's not that bad right? I accept and wait the two weeks. Today, 11/24/18, the mattress and box set NEVER ARRIVED. Yesterday, I received a text message confirmation saying it would arrive today early morning. I look up the order number and it was CANCELLED. Received 0 emails about that. Called off my morning shift to be home, ready to accept the shipment. Turns out their vendor never shipped it to them Wasted my morning & now I'm 1 hour on hold, trying to set up a new delivery date. My new delivery date is on December 8th, another 2 weeks from now. Now l'll have to continue sleeping on the floor for another 2 weeks, that's a month in total. Thank you so much Macys, I know I can rely on you guys ! Never again. I love Macys and just started getting into the backstage stores. My first visit here was during the holidays getting some last minute secret Santa gifts for coworkers and they had a nice selection of gifts to choose from. I like that they have a small section for clothes, shoes and houseware. The store wasn't the cleanest and most organized but they will definitely get a pass since it was pretty crowded and just a few days from Christmas. I browsed and saw lots of cool and fun items that I could've got for myself at affordable prices. Staff seemed busy and pleasant. I will definitely return here to check out some other items for me, myself and I especially since its close to home and just a block or two from Queens Center Mall and the bus/subway. read more

I've passed Macy's Backstage quite a few times. It looked interesting and I wondered what it was all about. Yesterday at Macy's in Queens Center they were giving out five dollar gift cards to Macy's Backstage so I figured that would be a good excuse for me to finally go there and see what it offered. Macy's Backstage is in the spot in the Target mall where Daffy's used to be. When Daffy's occupied the spot, it was kind of dingy and dank. I still get the same feeling at Macy's Backstage, but at least the items they have here are much nicer than anything Daffy's ever had. Macy's Backstage is Macy's answer to let's say T.J. Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory. Basically, it's an outlet store. Items of last season at bargain prices. Yeah, the styles of the clothing are last season, but unless you are Kate Moss, do you really care?? I got a pair of Rampage jeans here for twelve bucks!! Can't go wrong there. They have cosmetics, perfume, accessories, a shoe section, clothing, housewares, snacks, etc. They had a Comptoir Sud Pacifique perfume for only twenty dollars. Boots for twenty dollars. If you have some patience to look through everything, you'll walk away with some fantastic deals! Dressing rooms are nice and clean. They have those wooden slatted doors which are see through so I'm not a huge fan of them. Friendly associates. If you have a Macy's gift card, you can use it here. You can also use your Plenti card. There are also some benches on the inside of the store by the exit, which is nice. I'm very glad that I gave Macy's Backstage a chance. Although, it's not going to be good for my wallet. Do all discounters of major retailers have to distinguish themselves from the original by using lighting that makes you look a vampire, and even worse, a hollow eyed one who hasn't had a bite for days? If you can handle grey lighting that seems to suck the vitality from you, then this can definitely be a place for bargains. You can get the rosy flush back later, when you realize how much you've saved. I don't have much patience to do discount shopping, so I usually run in to a discounter that has atrocious lighting with the intent to look for a particular item, and dash back out if I don't find it. Here, the inventory display, along with the lighting, would give me a migraine within a hour. The racks seem to be placed in an unorganized manner. Many racks have so many clothes jammed on them that makes it difficult to look through for sizes. I picked up an exercise top only because it was hanging on the end of the rack and it happened to be my size and looked cute. My strength had already waned and I didn't even bother to look for another color. I was in here looking for sneakers and after a few minutes checking out the racks, gave up! On another occasion I came in to look for a coat and once again, only tried the one hanging on the end of the rack. If you are sturdy guerrilla shopper, go for it, because one lady on line told me they have splendid bargains here. She even told me they have Coach bags and other expensive handbags for cheap. Queens bargain hunters are friendly and like to share their money saving tips! You can find much of the stuff here you find at the regular Macy's a few block's down--active wear, shoes, jewelry, housewares, except these are past seasons and I guess stuff that didn't go even at clearance. Staff here, as one Yelper stated, seem to be slow handling transactions. They are however, quite friendly and pleasant. The store itself doesn't seem big but is jammed with merchandise. If you like deals and don't mind plowing through tight racks, prepare yourself by getting caffeinated and dive right in! read more

It's new, clean and has a decent selection of clothing & merchandise, particularly health and beauty products. Pricing isn't too bad here either. The only con I see is the lack of things for really skinny girls. The XS & 0/2 items are in small supply here, which kind of sucks. Highly discounted B rated designer items. I have been here only once, but was able to score some great deals ranging from bed sheet sets, blouses for work, active gear and candle sticks. Although I couldn't find my size....there was a gorgeous pair of Michael Kors bootie boots for $50. Other footwear included Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson, Guess. I had to wait on line for a long time to pay, which is always frustrating but the cashier hooked me upppppp with a points card. I asked the price because i wanted to make sure is it the right price on the tag or on the sign coz they were different price and she answered me very rude, she just told me to look on the tag and she said that's the price! with mad look and she left. So at the end i put it back the item and left the store. Since then i never coming back. Also the store kinda messy and confusing, so many stuff. But if you just go there buying some stuff without asking questions or help with employees then probably you'll be fine read more

Alright it's a good store if you are on a budget but please give your employees some common sense! I had a bad experience with the cashier I don't know if she was new or not. So I go to get these dress shoes I need for work and I find a pair but the box was a different brand from the shoes but it had a yellow tag in the box that said the brand of the shoes in it and a price. So when I go to the cashier to buy them she noticed he box was different and no price tag underneath the shoe, so she goes out to the shoe section and gets another pair of the same brand different style. She comes back and I tell her there's a tag in the box that corresponds to the shoe. She tells her manager and unprofessionally she pays no mind to her and just tells her to grab another pair of shoes from the same brand and scan it. The shoe she got cost more so I was like why are you charging me that if it's a different style, if I'm paying that much I rather buy those which are nicer looking but unfortunately they don't got my size in those. She's responded to me "my manager said to grab another pair with a tag and scan it" i was like why if there's different styles with different prices why those, and there was a tag already in the box I found in them. She tells me to get the shoes with the different prices , first of all how she makes me go get them , but she followed me and takes the shoes I wanted with her and I showed her and she's just basically said I have to charge these cause they have the tag (the one that cost more). I was over it I wanted to leave and I said okay whatever I'll get them with that price. She scans the other tag AND IT ENDED UP BEING THE PRICE OF THE YELLOW TAG THAT WAS ORIGINALLY ON THE BOX , i stayed quite and annoyed, frustrated and just left. I get home to try it on and they ended up being big but I tried it on the store and it fit me perfect and how come I get home and it's big. I find out after a picture I took at the store of the shoes i wanted to send to my friend ..... SHE CONFUSED THE BOXES AND THE SHOES WHEN WE WENT BACK TO THE SHOE SECTION FOR ME TO SHOW HER THERE WAS DIFFERENT PRICES. So I'm super annoyed, I have to move out of my way and plans to go back and exchange them and in hopes they are still there. Bad experience, poor customer service from the cashier and manager. I know I should have check them out before she was scanning it. It I was already annoyed, I thought she got the right shoe. If she scanned the yellow tag that was in the box and said the name brand of the show this would have not happen. read more
