I mainly do my shopping online because I do appreciate the brands and prices. However, I struggle with finding a petite selection. I go to the Bellevue location for petite professional clothing. They have a decent selection of professional dresses. The petite section itself is not what I'd choose. So, I do what I can in the junior section. Sigh. We were thinking of getting a king size fancy bedroom set when we were looking for king size mattresses here. Turns out Macy's has a Hotel bed collection that had gel, copper and a firm option we couldn't refuse with pillows. Then 600 thread count sheets and a douve thing I think all in less than three thousand. While I only sleep four to five hours a night she sleeps 8 to 9 hours a night so the mattress and bedding is more important than the dresser or nightstand. read more

She had her long hair covered up her name tag so no one can name her for her bad service, she acted like all of us owes her money. I went there on 7/20 at 8:30pm. I was told that the cashier has found the size but needs to put the box back, 25 minutes ago. A decent selection of men's clothing. The store is mostly clean and well-organized. There was quite a line for checkout though, and I saw an equally long line for customer service. They seem a bit understaffed. They were having a sale, but it was a bit difficult to tell which specific items were on sale. I gave up on trying to figure out the prices of anything and just took an armful of items to checkout and had them tell me the final price of each one, and I decided at that time whether to buy each one. I ended up purchasing 4 out of the 5 items. Overall a good value but be prepared to have the shopping trip take longer than you expect. read more

I usually don't shop here, but was blown away by their lack of customer service. This is specifically for the perfume booth and Estee Lauder booth. I went in Friday around 1:30pm to see if I could return a gifted fragrance gift set without a receipt. I was told it was bought at Macy's and after researching online the only store that carried this set in this particular combo and packaging was indeed Macys and Estee Lauder's official website. I stood at the fragrance dept for a few minutes to let a group of three ladies finish up their convo to help me, but they continued to chit chat. I finally found a lady further down the counter who was able to help me. However, she said this was an Ester Lauder product so take it there. From my understanding...any employee can do a return right? Anyways, the Estee Lauder employee said she would ask her manager about my circumstance and the manager who looked like she was busy filing her nails said no. I just looked up their policy for gift returns and it states that Macys will give store credit at the lowest selling price during the last 180 days without proof of purchase. Very slow service but eventually got what we wanted. Found a great pair of shoes but the man at the shoe checkout did not give us the proper discounts. I also bought the floor model with some scuffs on it and he said he could not give any discount. I still but the shoes but was a little dissapointed with how he treated me. A pile of coupons, promotions and offers continuously fill up my mailbox weekly from Macy's. Star rewards they call it; I'd say it's clever marketing that brings in $$$. 10%, 15%, an extra $10 off, how does Macy's do it? Well, in most cases you must use your Macy's credit card to use the coupons and surprisingly enough Macy's make more than their money back on 16 to 22% interest from the masses that just do not budget wisely. Take advantage of the enormous savings but be sure to pay off your balances off that month. If you said easier said than done then cut up the card. Take that from me as Suzie Orman would agree.. I came here on a Friday evening, to check out the One Day Sale preview and stock up on some jeans. I was able to find Levis for a good price and some other items that were greatly discounted from the original price, making the One Day Sale at Macy's a very good deal. However, if you can manage to get over how untidy everything is then it's worth the visit. I went to several different departments and there was never any sales staff on the floor, which I would've liked specifically at the Junior's area (which is where the Levis are located) since I had been trying to find my size for several different kind of jeans. Some of the different style of jeans were also misplaced, as they weren't the style that it says it is in the display, so finding a size was especially difficult. Many of the fitting rooms had clothes in the rooms at the two departments I was in, so that was a tad annoying since I wanted to try on several items. Also, when I was checking out I had to make sure the cashier took off the alarm sensors as she'd scan the price then fold the jeans, as if ready to put in the bag. I had to warn her twice about it. It's definitely not the best shopping experience. However, what's nice about the store is that there are price scanners located near each department, which was especially necessary since some of the items were misplaced in different areas, as the sales price wouldn't reflect the rack it's on and so forth. Overall, I would only shop here for the good deals during a One Day Sale on items I need, as the store is disorganized and untidy, making it difficult to shop here on a more frequent basis. read more

This review is specifically about the home store's cookware section and staff (this is located downstairs from the mall itself). I have been a fan of Le Creuset cookware from France for over twenty years now, and since people are discovering that Teflon's toxic (something I've always suspected -- I've never owned any major quantity of it) lots of folks are turning to Le Creuset which is naturally non-stick and easy to clean. The selection at Macy's is pretty good, I have to say, among the best anywhere around here. But the prices are a bit high unless it's on sale. I've actually seen some pieces cheaper at Larry's Market, Williams-Sonoma, and Whole Foods; the stores seem to be happy to set their own prices and they're all over the map. So you have to price-shop pieces carefully. And the color range at any store is sometimes limited. I don't care, as my Le Creuset collection is festive in mixed colors but if you're collecting just one color, especially one of the trendy colors like kiwi, beige, or matte black, expect some hassles. Macy's seems better than most stores that way, because if they have your color at all, they're going to have a pretty deep range of it, with more than one or two pieces to choose from. The staff is helpful and knowledgable about Le Creuset, so if you're just starting out, go talk to them. I would personally recommend a 26 frying pan (10") and a 5 or 7 quart French (Dutch) oven to start with as those are the pieces I use nearly every time I cook. Their silicone-coated balloon whisk is expensive at $20, but I'll tell you what, it is a fantastic tool and I use mine often. So that's a good accessory, as are their super-high temp silicone spoons and spatulas. read more

So, customer service sucks, lines are loooooong at the register, mainly because you can't find one or anyone at them. BUT if you are patient and don't compare their service to Nordstrom the prices are insane. I mostly find things and wait for a sale. Then they have a sale-, 20,30 or 40%off plus a coupon and you've just made it worthwhile. I stopped shopping at Nordstrom even though it's usually a really nice experience , it's because of the cost savings. read more

Overall, I would say that I like shopping at Macy's. It offers a great selection of products at reasonable prices and there always seems to be good sales. Judging the location at Bellevue separately, that rating is significantly lower. It is probably the location I least prefer. Service is inconsistent. There are times when I get great customer service there, but others where the staff there is pretentious and snooty. Don't know if it is the vibe at Bellevue Square or what. If the service was improved, I would probably visit this location more often. For now, it is one of those places that I shop only once in a while. read more

Macy's has great prices in all departments. Over the years I've shopped quite a bit in the men's clothing department as well as the jewelry department. The service throughout the store is poor, but the prices can't be beat. A lot of the same jewelry pieces you find at JCPenney or online are nearly double the price. You can get a deal on anything in the store, the price tags mean nothing. There is always an additional savings/discount you can inquire at the registers of each department. read more

What happened to Macy´s? We went there today and were in shock of how the women´s department has declined in appearance. It was a pure mess to shop there. Only sales racks everywhere with no more order. Racks were loaded with clothes from all different sizes, and it was really hard to find something. This reminded me of the last days of Sears, or before JC Penney closed at Bellevue Square some years ago. How can management permitting these circumstances in a store like that? I could not believe the downward spiral this store has taken. Still, the cosmetic, shoe and bag department looked fine, and you can still find things. Also I like shopping online at Macy´s and had no problems. Therefore I will still give 3 star rating. I hope this chaos gets removed eventually sometime soon. I never thought I would write a review for an as-a-matter-of-fact kind of store like Macy's. I took Macy's for granted while I was living in the Bay Area. Looking back, it was the first place we went to look for everyday business attire, necessity clothing, and other household items. After moving to Vancouver and suffering from not having access to department stores with a decent variety of merchandise and good customer service, it literally felt like heaven upon stepping into Macy's at Bellevue Square. The choices of suits, ties, shoes, and shirts make The Bay and Sears look like the scanty stores in the Eastern Bloc countries I saw on TV when I was growing up. During my visit, at no time did I have to hunt for customer service. Every customer service rep I dealt with was extremely friendly and helpful. My expectation for retail shopping experience has probably gone down to gutter since moving back to Vancouver but it actually felt nice walking up to a cash register and there was a cashier behind the register. read more

I'm not sure if I missed something, but this store is a great example why I might as well just shop online and do the returns there also. I went in to return a pair of jeans, first lady said, oh that's ladies, you have to go upstairs to the ladies department, interesting, but okay... I went upstairs to the next register, the lady tells me that she works in a Macy's, but can't accept returns, she only does BCBG work and I need to go over to the register around the corner... This lady tells me in a condescending tone, that she isn't Levi's, but she'll do me a favor and book the return in. Wait what?! I never heard that a return has to be brought back to the exact register that sells the stuff. Am I in a Macy's or not? It took me 20min fighting crowds up and down the store to get a rude scolding that I'm not returning stuff to the right corner of the store! Zero customer service! I also turned on my heels, walked out and won't be doing additional shopping in the store anymore. Worst customer service experience. Obviously it's COVID-19 right now. Store has been closed for months. For some reason my Macy's credit card will not let me pay online. I have paid by phone during this thing but it was a hassel. Finally they open back up and I go to pay off my remaining balance. Apparently they came up with a new policy during covid that having your social and account number isn't enough information they need the a driver's license as well? To pay a bill, I don't know why they would need driver's license information. I share this card with my significant the card is under his name. I don't need his ID to charge the card why would I need it to pay off the card? Lady was less then helpful and very demeaning. So after that poor experience I really rather close my account then have to deal with such poor customer service. Been a card holder since 2004. read more

Staff has become very rude especially the elder women working there though I guess they are frustrated due to too much load on them. My wife was looking for someone to get some help around a dress. Since no one was around she stood in queue of a billing desk. The old lady working on the desk commented on her that she looks like a person who has no patience as she is looking around. The old lady then told her that she doesn't think my wife has patience to wait in the queue. All this was entirely unprovoked. Though I don't fully blame this on the staff but on macy as the staff seems to be really less and I can understand they would be frustrated. This was in Bellevue square mall 3rd floor. Even earlier my wife had gone with her friends and one of the lady had been very rude with her friend. Though we regularly shop at Macy's I don't think I would be doing it again. Last several Trips to Macy's have been concerning. I was unable to locate a sales clerk in the Eileen Fisher dept. (where someone is usually always available). Had to track down a vendor who said they would try and find someone. Finally another vendor showed up in tears. Was completely shaken but tried to find her way thru it. I chose a men's fragrance sampler to possibly order more but they decided to send me the women's fragrances. I wrote them and they said I got what I ordered. When I said you sent me women's, they basically said they were sorry they were all out of men's and that I should go to a Macy's store and ask them directly. I really like this Macy's. If you're willing to hunt a little bit, you can find some really screaming deals. It seems they're always advertising some sort of special when you can get an extra 15 or 20% off whatever you're going to buy. Also, if you've got a big purchase in mind, consider signing up for a Macy's card. I know most store credit cards are a pain in the butt, but you can often add an extra 20% plus rebate money on whatever large transaction you might have. On the downside, this store is always crowded, but on the plus side they do have lots of parking structures around the store. I've often found while the store is busy, it doesn't impact the parking situation (which is free ) read more

Drove to Bellevue from the Snoqualmie Valley for the turkey roaster they have in stock. When I arrived they told me they never heard of it. Another customer purchasing one at the moment showed me where to get it. The customer knew more than the salesperson!!! I then dragged my new Turkey Roaster through the mall while in a dress and heals to get it to my car... Will Call... What Will Call!? After waiting two hours for my package to show up...or someone to actually answer the phone and going back into the mall 3 times, I find out my purchse never left the cash register where I purchased it. I get it - you're not striving to be customer focused like Nordstrom. But can you please hire competent sales associates? I walked up to a register with my purchase. Sales associate was talking with her coworker, she turned and looked at me and then turned back and kept talking to her coworker about her days off. I decide to wait, figuring it would be a quick conversation and she's wrapping up. Nope. Her coworker finally nudged her and said, "someone is waiting." That should've been my first clue to leave. I went out, decided to unstuff my dress and fold it nicely, and discovered that she left the theft tag on. Don't know why alarms didn't go off and don't care. I went to another associate who started to direct me to someone else and I finally had enough. Let her know firmly that the previous associate was rude and incompetent and SHE was going to take off the tag. She offered half-hearted apologies. This is not my first unpleasant experience at Macy's (several locations) but it's the first that pissed me off enough to write this review. REFUSED SERVICE TO MANY! Shopping here was a stressful and angering experience and I will not be taking my mom back here. I was out with my mom shopping at this department store and the service was terrible. I have noticed that the last few times they have not been attentive and very slow at the register. This time 15 minutes before the store was closing we were standing at a register with a couple others behind us.There were two older ladies working at the checkout stand and they snapped at us to go to a different register. They told everyone in the line to leave even though only one of them was attending a customer. We went to a different register and even those people showed everyone away. Worst customer service experience ever at Bellevue Square Macy's (Junior Department). Here's the full story: My daughter and I were in a dressing room trying on dresses, in the Junior department, when a sales associate knocked on our dressing room door to announce "No men are allowed in the dressing rooms." We promptly told her no men were in our room. She then said "I'm going to call security " and left returning again to knock on our dressing room door. My daughter then answered the door and said, "it's only me and my mom." The sales associate then looked passed my daughter looked directly at me and asked, "Do you identify as a woman?" I was absolutely taken back. My daughter then said "No, this is my mom." After being completely embarrassed and mistreated, we shut the door, picked up our things, left the items we were going to buy, and went to find the sales associate. I informed the sales associate that she was rude, disrespectful, discriminating towards us. Not only did she harass us in public and threaten to get security, she also stripped me of my dignity. As a result, I asked her for her first and last name and then went to the management on duty. The sales associate made a lousy attempt to apologize by saying she was doing us a favor by trying to keep out creepy men. Which only hurt more. When we spoke to management, the manager excused the associates behavior by explaining that she was new. This manager on duty did not take my name or phone number, thus making no attempt to apologize for the lack of customer service provided and eliminated all chances of follow up. Therefore, I called the next day to see what efforts had been made to resolve the problem. The Macy's store manager again mentioned that she knew about the sales associate and has done nothing to compensate for my embarrassment. With that all being said, I will never set foot in a Macy's store again after the way I was treated and how the situation was handled. I was a platinum card holder for over 35 years. This store has no business being a retail giant when they discriminate against people. I am a patron that should be valued and I was not that particular day. I should have all the rights of being in a dressing room regardless of my gender, sex, race, or creed. I can't tell you how disappointed I am about this particular store. Macys of Bellevue Square likes to take pride in their customer service, however it seems to me that is a thing of the past and they need to start taking notes from Nordstrom. read more
