Literally took me an hour to be rung up. A dress did not have a tag. We spent over 30 minutes skimming through dresses on the website until I had to dismiss myself. I went to a second cash register, where they could not find a manager. The solution, begin sifting again. After asking multiple times if there was anyone else to help me, I was told to just hang on. I in today to buy my mother a watch for Mother's Day and first of all, I want to give a shout-out to Jeff from the watch department who was very polite, respectful, and provided great customer service and was extremely friendly. I purchased the watch and he said to wait for another associate called Alicia because she has more knowledge on specific brand on adjusting it. He wanted to make sure the watch was well adjusted and didn't want to mess it up, which I thought was such a caring act of him. So I waited patiently and when Alicia had gotten back from lunch, he went to ask for her help/assistant and I was there and heard how she responded to him very rude and non-caring and turned away.He came back to me and adjusted the watch for me and explain to me everything. I left and was satisfied with Jeff's customer service I give him 5/5 stars, but I give this post 1 star because of the other associate, she could have been more nice about it and helped out. read more

I've had my share of good experiences at Macy's, which kept me going back for my clothes. Somewhere down the line, things changes and I was soured on Macy's. Maybe it's because I would have a hard time finiding someone to assist me when needed...am I at Best Buy or Macy's? For a good while, I stopped shopping at Macy's for their poor worker attitudes. Nordstrom's Rack is where I was heading to. This weekend, though, as I cut through Macy's to get inside the mall, I noticed some good looking shirts...@ 75% off...AND an additional 20% off with a coupon! Whoa! After all was said and done, I walked out with 10 items for $75 dollars. That's a steal! The gentleman who assisted me was an older mature chap, who was very knowledgeable and professional, more than I can say about the previous employees. It may not be the biggest selection, but they actually have much better customer service than the AWFUL Century City location. Jamie at the purse counter was lovely, and extremely helpful with a difficult return I had. I really liked that she went the extra mile to save me some time. I was really only there for one thing, and that was a pair of boots that didn't look like a pair I already had. Thanks to an absolutely lovely sales associate, I found a grey, knee-high wedge that I love. It's a really small shoe department overall, though. Aside from my wedge, I looked at probably eight other pair that only had small sizes left. Came here on 5/30 around 2:45pm... the women in the bottom floor were so rude because one girl at the jewelry stand told me to check out at "at your service" near the entrance door, then that lady got totally pissed at me and told me that I wasn't supposed to be there. She also proceeded to yell at incoming customers lining up behind me - I guess we were all getting redirected to pay at the "At Your Service" desk since no one else was working. After ringing up my purchase, the cashier half-threw my bag across the counter. Sorry you guys. Your customer service sucks. It also seems that Macy's barley had anyone working the bottom floor in the handbag / jewelry area. If you're working holidays in the world of retail, you don't short staff. That's common sense, and sad on behalf of whomever handled managing/scheduling for the employees at this location. I'm searching for gym clothes and the employees aren't helpful. They must get a lot of of shoplifters here because all the employees do is stare at you. When you ask for help no one knows anything. He is the Only person who has called me and introduced themselves before asking questions! Customer service is alive at Macy's! The phone survey robot caller wasn't nearly as polite. It barely understands English. I purchased the item in store and while I don't care for this mall, it was worth the trip . The woman in the furniture/bedding department was a dream to work with- as she was knowledgeable and efficient. In September when they expand the furniture department I plan to do more shopping here. I also purchased some perfum at the Chanel counter- I was disappointed they had run out of bags buy the women at the counter was very polite and helpful as I had many questions and tried many fragrances before the sale was made. Now all I needed to do was switch out a Suit Jacket that I was told was available. Had the UPC Slip from another store.. I immediately went to Men's suits and Rafael was there hanging around didn't even ask if I needed help. Not until I had to inquire about the jacket I was looking for and he immediately said.. "We don't carry it" and preceded to speak to his friend and said, Check INC. So I did, I know things can get mixed and looked at Last ACT Since it was a Designer Suit @84%... Jose, with his Beautiful Hair, my Son has long hair too assisted me first saying that his section comes in S,M,L etc.. vs Number sizes and went back to Men's where Elizabeth assisted me . She checked around and BOTH even offered to check their respective places to see ..,because it is a return, that it might be in an area that holds them. They did point Rafael to me, who is the one that didn't assist me in the first place ! But he was in Men's Shoes trying to make his CommisSION. I grew up shopping in this mall since they opened in the 70's. It was such an exciting and amazing place, to have an indoor mall in Culver City. I hate giving this Macy's this review, but I still get infuriated every time I think about how my mother and I were treated on this particular night. My mother's favorite store is Macy's therefore, all of my family members give her a gift card for Christmas and her Birthday. While at the register at Macy's Woman, she provided the card to the cashier. Who, after redeeming the $50, told her "this looks old, I need to call a manager to see if still good". well you just ran it so yes it's still good. instead of a manager 2 of her co-worker friends come over to interrogate us about where we got this card. It came from my cousin on my Mother's Birthday, asked and answered...."but where did you get it". again, it was a gift. asked for a manager, they called another friend, not a manager, who told us "sorry there is nothing i can do for you" then walked away. what? call another manager, please? no other managers on staff tonight!, what? one of the first girls returns with a 300 pound security guard who told me and my 72 year old mother to leave the store? what? why? i asked original cashier, to put back what she already redeemed from the card and we would just go to another Macy's, NOPE, You're not getting the $50 back! what? why? because that card looked old and we can't accept it! But she ran the card took the $50, then refused to cancel purchase and tried to have us leave without gift card and merchandise, what are these con-artists up to, including the shady security and fake manager Gladys, who was the only manager on staff in the entire macy's that night (such B.S.), after One and a half hours of constant harassment (which they seemed to enjoy very much), i walked over to the other side of the store to request a manager, (not sure why it took me so long to do that) who just happened to be there, she was very professional and kind, i explained the situation, she walked back with me, she asked to see the card we attempted to use, asked the first cashier if it went through, she said yes, then asked what was the problem, why did she not complete the transaction, she was dumbfounded and could not answer, the other shady pieces of shit disappeared and left her alone, she asked her why they called security, as horrible as they were to us, we remained calm the entire time, there was no reason to intimidate us with security. she said the others requested security, then the manager completed our transaction with our very legitimate gift card and we were off. I called at 6 so I don't understand how no one answered the phone. I called another location and they picked up right away. It honestly makes no sense. Came here to buy something off a friend's wedding registry and the ladies in the home dept couldn't have been more helpful. They helped with finding the registry to finding the item and having everything settled and paid for right away. I didn't even have to lift a finger (except to pay, lol). Wow Macy's you really let me down this time! I have a bridal registry at Macy's and I was offered an additional 20% off on all remaining products on my registry IN-STORE and online. I went there last week, with the coupon in hand and went to the kitchen and home department upstairs. Began looking for an associate to help me out... no one in sight for at least a good 8 minutes. I started walking around the store in hunt for an associate... finally... I found him! (Wish I didnt!) Told him about my coupon and that I would like to make purchases. His reaction (or lack of)... told me he didnt know what I was talking about and that coupon only applied to online purchases... even though it clearly indicated that it was for IN STORE as well. As we were "talking" another customer approached us, and told the sales dude that he had been waiting at the register for 15 minutes for someone to ring his purchase in. He was ANGRY! This place is completely understaffed! The very few sales staff that do work there, have no clue whats going on and do not go out of their way to help and make you seem like the idiot not them! Avoid going there! Which is really such a shame since the mall is relatively new. read more

Christmas shopping craze brings mayhem to all stores but when you speak of a reputable name like Macy's, Century City, Santa Monica, Beverly Center, downtown do not have a problem...hmmmm..they seriously make this store look like a K-mart. NO, wait, That was an insult, KMart is actually a bit more organized and clean than this particular Macy's store. Anyways, what the hell happened? I mean, the majority of people at that mall are black, then Hispanic, and then everyone else, but "Seriously, not all of us are dirty. So a hoodlum came in and messed up the place, but Isn't it your job to tidy up, and continue to make the best of the store? But I guess we are not that important even after we spend millions each year and have the right to complain. Dirty looks, and eyes are rolled as their response. The sad part about it is that everyone continues profiling showing off and walking around like there is nothing wrong. A store like that needs some serious staff training in the arts of customer service. And some heavy Janitorial skills. Wax on, Wax off. Why am I not surprised this store gets one star? They certainly treated me that way. I had no beef with this chain until I tried to return a jacket I was given as a Christmas gift. The item had a gift receipt attached. After I waited patiently, the lady at returns told me she couldn't accept the jacket, even with the receipt. She told me to call the person who gave it to me and get the order number. I didn't have my cell phone, nor did the person who gave it to me order it online as she insisted. I'm a public librarian so I know how to keep my cool, but the lady escalated rapidly, nearly yelling at me when I took the jacket and walked out. Just in case her supervisors read this, you just lost a customer (not that you really ever had one); instead of using the value of the return to buy some bedding I really needed, I walked down to JC Penney's, my usual store at Westfield (along with Nordstrom Rack) where I've never had any problems. Oh, and I also packed up every single other gift from Macy's, two good shirts and a vest, you figure out how much money you just lost. Every single item is going back, no exchanges. I will never accept so much as a pair of socks from this department store, until they go bankrupt, and then I'll be back, cleaning up with a big smile. Good luck. read more

This location is a mixed bag. Some days the staff is unbearable, other times they're so sweet and attentive. In truth, the older workers there are the kind ones but those that work there for after school, the holiday season, or are usually in their 20s can have the worst attitudes and are rather careless. I usually never have any issues with Macy's, but there is a first time for everything, right? Where to begin? As I was browsing the men's wear section I had multiple employees walk by me without asking if I needed any assistance, which I did. I proceeded to ask an associate if she could help measure my neck and sleeve size, with a tape measure around her neck she said no and that I would need to go to the suit section. I did as she said and, no surprise, no one was there. I asked the ladies at the return counter and they directed me to a fitting room where finally someone was able to get my measurements. I went back to the men's dress shirts, grabbed a few, and tried them on. Wow, these are some of the most disgusting fitting rooms I have ever been in. Also, while trying on a shirt I heard one associate (I believe a supervisor) yell at another associate for failing to put some clothes back or something, so professional. Terrible experience! I went in yesterday hoping to spend some $ ! I picked out a bunch of clothes and tried to find a cash register...not a single cash register on the second floor had anyone to help me ring up my merchandise! Smh ‍! I've been going to this Macy's since I was a kid and I love it. It has everything from designer clothes, shoes to the Mac counter. I haven't had much use for Macy's in recent years but if your looking for cute shoes or a cute dress or even a makeup consultation, I say heres the place to visit. It's supposedly opens at 9. I arrived at 9:30 and the doors were still locked. I can't imagine what excuse there is for that. Busy people don't have time to go out of their way for no reason. My guess is if they don't have their shop in order enough to open on time, then there are probably other problems as well. Edit: my suspicion was confirmed. I went back on my lunch break and I've never had a more frustrating experience shopping for jeans.
