Luis wasn't just professional, he was patient. The kind of patience we used to get before the pandemic, when customer service meant something and people actually looked up when you walked in the store. He treated me like my time mattered, like my questions weren't a burden, and like helping me was part of his job -- imagine that. And even though they didn't have what I was looking for, he still made the experience pleasant. I left feeling hopeful... like maybe, just maybe, good customer service is making a comeback. I have shop Vans many, many times especially this location in Culver City since is close to home. My daughter had just visit the Grove and said they had great Memorial Day sales. I decided to stop by around 6:12pm and boy was I ever DISAPPOINTED! No one greeted me, no one approached me to offer any assistance or talk about any sale. At first I thought it was me two others came in n no one was welcome. Three employees were busy at the register talking down on the company and how "we the customer " change our minds all the time. One had put her two weeks, may be that's why they were worried about selling anything. What a stellar experience! I came in yesterday to pick up a "ship to store" order and was greeted at the front by Drea. I had my three year old with me and he enthusiastically told her about the haircut he just got. Drea was SO attentive and did not dismiss him. She conversed with him and it was the sweetest interaction, truly! I waited in line until it was my turn and we browsed the skateboard decks while we waited. Drea brought out my order and offered to open the box and place the shoes in a bag so I didn't have to walk around the mall with a box. My child chatted with her some more and we said our goodbyes. As we were heading out, she ran up to us and gave my son a cup as a gift. I thought this was such a sweet touch and I truly felt appreciated as a customer. She didn't have to do that but it made my kid's entire day to make a friend at the "skateboard store" as he calls it. I was returning a Christmas gift from my husband. The associates were extremely unhelpful, rude, and acting like they were too dum to figure out what to do.. The reason was probably because they r doing returns and not using the gift receipt..not adding discounts at the regiater.. wont help order online ... From out of town, have wide feet and my left foot is a tiny bit bigger. My knock off vans I brought with me to work this week were too big and I didn't want to take a chance again so I came to Vans to get the real deal. The associate who helped me grab sizes was sooo nice and helpful. I didn't get her name but she was an absolute gem- she ended up getting me so many sizes to try on and with a smile on her face. I felt bad but she gave me so many help tips and kept it honest with me. The cashier associate was helpful and made sure I was good before and after checking out. Stay away. Support another location. I love vans. I have tons of shoes and a wardrobe full of vans merchandise. I do not come here anymore. I would rather fight for parking at the Venice location or even go to the promenade than to promote this location. Management sucks. Always leaving team members on the floor with no support. I gave this store a to be klies the gentleman that help me to get the shoes was incredibly nice and helpful. They hired a sign in their store that clearly States if you spend $65 you get a $25 off your next purchase card. When I bought the shoes the girl told me know it's $66 I went outside it says 65I told her she gave me massive attitude and then gave me the card as if I was some kind of jerk or something. Lesly & Alex were nice and helpful. But the retarded girl with a yellow beanie on the register tonight is the reason for this review. First off she didn't smile nor was she in any way personable despite our jolly demeanor and how much we praised Alex. Secondly she could not figure out how to do an even exchange for the same item in a different size. I'm pretty sure you're not doing quantum mechanics. You're pressing buttons and scanning. We're not stealing, there's a receipt. And lastly, once she finally figured out how do the exchange, she couldn't even do simple math. 60 + 60 = 120. 120 - 40 does NOT equal 100 even with tax!!!!! Jesus lord in heaven. I understand you don't have basic skills to contribute to society and you must really hate your job. But please, since you're such a moron.. Smile. I love Vans shoes... but this location is a little too crazy for me. They are way under staffed for the amount of traffic they get and I hate that I have to wait forever just to be helped. Came into the store to exchange two pairs of pants that I had got for a birthday present. Did not have the receipt but have been going to vans for years and have exchanged with no receipt for a different size plenty of time. Young girl explained that I could exchange it for the same style different size had to be the same color. Store was a mess and they didn't have the style When I asked about the policy change girl said it was always like that and there lp manager was on top of them. This probably means that the store is high shrink and can't get it under control. Super upsetting from a company that I buy from very often. Couldn't help me with store credit or just exchanging for a different color in a different size which is what I wanted. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! A week ago I bought a pair of Vans which I love, the sales person convinced me to buy socks to go with my purchase. Once at home I removed apart the paper adhesive wrapper and found ripples (almost torn) on the bottom of 2 of the three pair of socks. I returned to the store to get a refund. The first cashier that tried to help me wasn't sure how so she asked the Manager. ELVA (the manager) quickly says NO REFUNDS to the other cashier WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT OR KNOWING THE SITUATION. She said "Tell'em exchange only". I waited for her to finish with the other customer she was helping so I could have her undivided attention, I showed her the damaged socks and said I would like a refund. She snapped at me and said "NO REFUNDS, EXCHANGE ONLY". I showed her my purchase receipt and explained to her that I did not want to exchange because I did not like the quality of the socks and I rather get my money back. The whole time there were 3 or 4 other customers listening to our conversation. She said "NO REFUNDS", so I asked her to explain the store return policy and she said you open the item so no refunds only exchange. Holding my composure, I explained that the socks do not come in a sealed package and are only held together by a cardboard wrap and the only way to see the defect on the socks was to remove the wrap. Anyway... to wrap this up, she did not budge, did not offer other solutions, did not address or acknowledge my quality concerns. I asked to speak with the manager and she quickly (and cocky about it) blurted "I'm the manager" as if to show off for the other teenage employee (who was probably new). Even though the past few times I've gone to this location the inventory has always seemed to be low on the shoes I'm looking for, the customer service provided to me by the sales associate my last visit will keep me coming back. It's a busy mall, so there's lots of foot traffic in and out of here and the attention for customer service is demanding, but the young man Robert who I was helped by was very accommodating. After several trips to the back for me he helped me find the right shoe with a positive attitude despite the fact I was there right before closing time. I bought a pair of shoes a few months ago & since they're one of my favorite pairs I HARDLY wore them, but when I did I noticed one shoe always felt tighter. I honestly don't know why i never thought to check until today but one shoe was a half size off. I went in expecting to pay for a new pair or hoping they had the other mismatched pair but Rosario was totally awesome & said she would just give me a pair in the correct size. I usually have great customer service but today the African-American manager had a serious attitude problem. She wouldn't issue a store credit, even though their policy states that you can if you have the receipt, even if it's over 60 days. I looked for shoes to exchange but either they didnt have our size or we already had them. She then said I couldn't get store credit it because I had said it was a gift for my daughters birthday. She then demanded I show her the debit card used for the original transaction. Nowhere on their return policy does it state that you need the original debit card for store credit. When I mentioned that, she damn near bubble headed me!!!! Mind you I was not giving her attitude. I may have gotten one once I felt she was not trying to help me at all. Anyways, I called later in the day and the manager on duty Rosario was beyond helpful and she righted the other manager's wrong! Rosario's excellent customer service kept me as a customer, but I will walk out if I see the other manager! read more
