Went to this store yesterday and asked where is the womens plus size dept. was told we don't carry plus sizes any more. I said you don't even mark the sizes on the hangers!!??? she said no you have to look at the tags to find the size! literally a 4 top rack rack full of jeans all styles and sizes mixed together??? what a HOT MESS I don't have time to look through literally 75 jeans to try and find a size or certain style! IDK what has happened to Macys but my goodness this store is a disaster. don't they realize the average woman's size is 16 in America and they 'don't carry plus sizes.'. also as I was walking out I overheard another Customer ask a clerk 'where is the plus size clothes' and I turned around and smiled at the clerk and said ya see!!?? read more

I went online to look for the brand, Good American jeans and it said they sold them at Macy's so I drove all the way to Macy's specifically for that and they said oh we don't carry them. You can order them online G so sorry. It amazes me how easily they just blow off the fact that I made an entire trip just for that, and they don't carry it, but they were willing to order them online for me as if I couldn't do that myself at home! Wow, has Macy's gone downhill. Fast. Terrible service. I used to be a preferred customer with lots of perks when it was Marshall Field's, but this place treats their Macy's cardholders like garbage. No perks at all. No one here cares at all. They literally hide in the back hoping you'll walk to another department for help. Pathetic. read more

Macy's is part of my walking route in the Woodland Mall. It's bright, wide open, and has a second floor. Lots of choices on cloths, bedding, and everything for the home. It is lacking staff, but they cover for each other, when needed. A bit expensive. read more

Wonderful store with a great selection of merchandise! They always have good deals and great brands ! Stuff is also very friendly!

I love Macy's so much! This store has more casual knits and staple pieces while the other GR store has more cocktail style or workwear attire. As a platinum member, I hope both of these stores stay open as they are the only places I shop! Service anywhere is hit or miss, but these ladies continue to be quick with checkout. I believe Macy's has the best value for clothing out there! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Employee name: Heber Degracia I paid for a mattress, several hundred dollars. He shows up to my apartment, moves my porch furniture around, and doesn't wait 10 minutes for me to arrive and sign a document. I even spoke with him 5 minutes earlier and told him I was driving from work. I already paid for the property. He just needs to verify I am who I say I am. He just left with no communication to me. THEN he lied to Macys, stating that he had delivered the mattress. This is terrible. Waste of money and waste of time. MANAGEMENT!? Have a conversation with Heber Degracia. He is working with people like me and probably treating them similarly. This makes me not want to shop with you. He was on the clock the entire time while I took 2 hours from work trying to track him down after he left. read more

Disappointed by this Macy's. Very poor selection, especially in the plus size section. Took a while to find someone to process my return. Store appeared to be clean and organized but there was such low inventory and variety that I decided to skip shopping in-person altogether and just order online. read more

It's not really hard to see why many of these brick-and-mortar stores are not doing so well anymore. Obviously, it's hard to compete with the selection you can get online, but for items such as clothes, fragrance, shoes, etc., you would think having a physical store to try the items first-hand before you buy would be invaluable. It would be a tragic mistake to make an in-person shopping experience noxious, but that's pretty much what's happening here, unfortunately. This particular Macy's has dwindled over the years. The selection isn't what it used to be, but that's not really my issue with it. The sales staff has become significantly more difficult to get service out of or has become downright hostile in recent years. When I went in a few months ago to get after shave, there was nobody at the counter. I had to wander around the store like the last survivor of the apocalypse looking for another human being. I finally just went to a register that had an employee ringing up someone's sale and asked if there was anyone working the fragrance counter (which felt weird for me to say out loud.) She basically ignored me until it was clear I wasn't going to go away and then finally said she would "call the lady from downstairs", which kinda sounded a bit ominous to me. After a while, "the lady from downstairs" ambled up and rang up my order. She wasn't overly friendly, but not being hostile or dismissive, she was actually the nicest employee I've met there. I will continue to shop for clothes in a physical store unless I am totally familiar with the exact item I need and can get it online. I will, however, strive to avoid this particular store whenever possible. read more

Me and my sister came in to try on dresses. We went in a room and an employee knocked and barged in even though we said multiple times that it was occupied then proceeded to tell us that we had to get out because it was handicapped even though she let us in there. Me and my sister were both not clothed and she kept looking in as she kept talking to us. I feel that it is a violation against our privacy and very unprofessional of the woman read more

Not a bad store at all. Anyone that really knows me knows that all I wear pretty much is Polo Ralph Lauren polo shirts, t shirts and jeans so I want to see if this Grand Rapids location had anything that I couldn't get back home in Pittsburgh. They did have a few jackets that weren't carried back home yet but, we did get them a few weeks later. I saw a few really nice shirts but, I couldn't bring myself to buy them as Michigan pays tax on clothes and in PA we don't. This location inside Woodland Mall was pretty crowed everywhere we went as a "One Day Sale" was going on but, the salespeople seem to be handling it pretty well. I called in to macys dept store today to make sure they had the purse I saw on line. I talked to the lady and she said they had two. So I drove out today to buy the purse. When I got to the dept store I was greeted with a lack of warmth that I would think should comes with a high end dept store. The experience I had at macys department store was bad. I ended up buying my purse online because they were out of stock. The workers in this department are argumentative and lack class. The manger is full of excuses and no solutions. I would not recommend this store. I felt like they are overpriced and have the service quality of a wholesaler. read more

I returned to Macy's to purchase a pair of shoes that I liked. I walked upstairs to the shoe department, and was greeted by a section full of customers. I looked around and noticed that this was the ONLY section of the store so crowded. Getting on line, I discovered why. A customer was negotiating multiple items between coupons; "Is this less with the 20% one or with this one? How about this one? Is this one still valid? I can't use a coupon on that? Then I don't want it." The harried clerk tried to be as nice as possible, ringing items, removing them, and ringing them again. He kept glancing nervously at the line of people waiting for shoes. It should be noted that none of the coupon queen's items were shoes. I timed it, 25 minutes. At the end of this customers transaction, she purchased less than half of the items, and left the others in a pile on the return counter. At no point did another clerk come to assist. 2nd on line, the clerk got me my shoes, which I tried on. When I looked up, there were seven customers at his cash register most of whom were not buying shoes. I took my item to another counter, paid, and left. (I will admit to using a coupon.) I have many questions; While I don't like to hold a store responsible for a really horrible customer; (and she was a horrible person) is there no method whereby a clerk can call for assistance in his station to avoid enraging other customers by an asinine delay? Speaking of asinine, what's with the coupon policy? They work for some stuff, and not for others, and there's no way for a customer to know? And you can or cannot use them for multiple deals on the same check? And you allow customers to inconvenience others by bartering at the cash register? How about you put prices on stuff? Is it unreasonable for the shoe clerk to focus on ... shoes? I didn't ask the bedding clerk to pick out my loafers. If I wanted to barter with salespeople, I'd shop in Agrabah. How about we just pay for stuff and leave? I'm leaving you with an extra star, as I really like my new shoes, but my shopping experience today was horrible. read more

I buy a lot of purfume and make up here and usually have a nice experience, but the other day I had a much different experience. The sales woman Yvonne was very pushy and when I would not buy everything she was hard core bulling me to buy, she got even more rude to me! She was even mumbling things under her breath, I think in German and made things very uncomfortable! I won't say what brand I was buying because I don't want to give that company a bad reputation because it was her being a bad employee. I will never give Yvonne any of my sales again for being so horrible to me, a paying customer! Too bad Macy's employees such a pushy, rude salesperson. read more

This is a terrible terrible store. Macy's as a whole are a pretty awful lot, but the service at this location is particularly atrocious. I made the poor choice to rent a tux from here for my brother's wedding, and upon the day to get it, I tried on the jacket and it absolutely reeked of body odor. It smelled as if someone has played basketball in it for a couple hours. The Macy's employee was of no help, and Im now in a mad scramble to find a jacket to wear. Honestly, the world will be a better place when this store finally dies the miserable death it deserves. read more
