Fantastic experience. Was looking for a black and brown belt that was reversible and found one I liked. It was improperly placed on a discount rack. When I asked about the higher price that rung up, the gentleman I was checking out with simply deducted 50% for their error. Now that is customer service! What do you do when you're going to an event where a sports coat is a necessity, yet your fiance hasn't had one since he was 4' tall? Well, I saw an ad for Macy's 4th of July sale, so I decided that today would be a good day to drag him into a store to get an outfit for a fancy schmancy wedding we're going to in less than 2 weeks. I know nothing about formal menswear and how it should fit, etc. So I was very happy when we walked in and a salesman by the name of Patrick offered his assistance! He didn't even need to measure my fiance - he recited his size by looks! He recommended us some colors, sizes, and gave all the advice needed to get together a whole ensemble (sport coat, button down shirt, and pants). He looked at the fit to make sure it was alright and was very friendly. I was extremely grateful for his recommendations! It was a painless experience for my t-shirt wearing fiance and for me as well. I'd definitely go back there to outfit him! The only downfalls? The shoe department doesn't carry or order larger sizes (he needed a 14) so it wasn't a one stop shop for us. Otherwise, it would be a 5 star. The service definitely is! read more

I like to go here for my Clinique. They always seem to have a huge selection of Cardinals wear as well in a variety of sizes and styles.

Worst Macy's ever - there is no selection (no women's Polo Ralph Lauren for example), half the women's floor is for plus sizes, nothing is organized, they dedicate way too much floor space to basic, poorer quality brands like INC, there's never any customer service reps around, and in general it has a trashy vibe. I really enjoy shopping at Macy's and it's definitely one of my favorite department stores. There are really awesome sales going on throughout the year and most of the time, what I find at the clearance racks are not so bad. This location has a lot of women's clothing, it's the whole second floor! I like the options available and I pretty much always find something that I like. The layout is organized but can be overwhelming at the same time. There's a lot of stuff going on and it can be really busy in there during the weekends, especially in the women's shoes area. The staff I've encountered have all been nice and friendly but I have to say that sometimes they can be missing in action and there can be no one there to help you when you actually need it the most. Overall though, I can't deny my love for Macy's and this location hasn't done anything to change that. read more

Once in a while I get a good deal here. But this store has gone downhill in the last year. My biggest complaint is the wait to check out. Should I really have to wait 20 minutes to buy from you Macy's? Good way to save money because I decide to leave about 1/2 of the time rather than wait. Roam the whole store looking for a checkout. In my heart, I know that Macy's is way overpriced.. If it weren't I couldn't routinely get 40-50% off my purchase and still keep them in business. Despite this, I don't care. I LOVE shopping at Macy's. I'm addicted to their sales and clearance rack. Sign up for their credit card and they'll send you coupons and a sale flyer every. single. week. It's hard to resist! Plus you get their Macy's reward program and score a $25 reward check every so often. read more

I have been to Macy's twice within two weeks and both times the service was slow and not even friendly. I hear Macy's has great deals and everyone has a great experience... well I didnt get a great deal or a great experience either time. Macy's just keeps falling further and further downhill. Went in to return some china, which was incredibly heavy. Employee ignores me while I'm behind the customer she was with. Ok, fine. Then after I pick everything back up and ask to return it, gives me a look and says I have to go somewhere else. Why didn't you say that when you saw me waiting for several minutes or before I picked it up? I asked for someone else to carry it and asked back how that would happen. It's your standard Macy's chain, but this Macys has a great selection of items when compared to other chains. I looked around and I really wanted to go and buy a good amount of stuff that I liked but couldn't go on a shopping spree since I only had a little space left in my luggage bag before I headed back to NY. . I visited MAC in Macy's at the Saint Louis Galleria September 2nd, 2018. I am taking the time out of my day to write this letter because I received the worst customer service I've ever received from ANY company rather it was food, retail or makeup. I stopped in and asked if I could be matched for foundation. There was no one in line and she took forever to service me, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I assumed that she was busy with something else. She approached me, and it immediately seemed as she was bothered that I stopped by. I asked to be matched in foundation and I stated that the last time I was matched (last year) I was a MC47 just to help her out a little, but it has been a while, so I would like to be rematched. She went to look for the MC47 and got extremely frustrated when she could not find it...even saying "fuck" when she did not find it. So she said "we don't have a MAC 47 soooooooo".... I said can you match me in anything else? She said no because anything below would be to light, and anything above would be to dark. So, I said so your not going to try? And she stated the same thing before about how nothing else would match? I told her usually the ladies here do everything they can to find something I would like to purchase, and you seem like you want me to just leave. I said could you test me in powder? She said to me that I would not like the powder and usually old people wear it. This is when I began to get frustrated because as a MAC representative your not suppose to tell me what you know I will not like, your suppose to test it on me so I can make the decision for myself. So, I basically had to beg her to test me in the powder and it did not look to bad. I was so frustrated I decided not to get it. So, she referred me to Nordstrom's MAC which I knew nothing about and I am so happy she did because this will be my new go to place in the mall. When I got tested at Nordstrom I told them how I was previously a MC47 and he tested me, and I am actually a MC43 and the MAC representative at MACYS did not even try to test me in anything else to find that out. Nordstrom ran out of their MAC43, but they OFFERED TO SHIP IT TO ME FOR FREE. I had no idea that was even an option, or I would have just bought my foundation from MAC in Macy's. She lost a sell because she did not want to do her job, I could have easily had foundation shipped to me from MACY'S MAC but I had to walk to NORDSTORM to get it shipped from them. I am extremely disappointed, and I hope never to experience such poor service from any company again read more

Generally good service here, although depends on the department. The men's polo dept. always has great service. I usually specifically take my purchases to that area to pay because they are so nice. read more
