There are many large sculptures throughout the gardens, they are all labeled with the name of the work, the artist and the material. There is a large market with sculptures of all sizes for sale. The exhibit is so large it is only displayed in one location per year. While we were there, there were two sculptors working on new pieces, both took the time to speak with us. Love is in the air at the Bonnet House, while we were there they were setting up for a wedding and we saw a proposal. A beautiful setting for both. They have special events throughout the year, including an orchid show and Christmas holiday wonderland. Guided and self guided house tours are available,$30-40, we opted for the grounds tour only, $15. The gardens are well shaded so even on a warm day our visit was comfortable.

I visited Anne Kolb Nature Center on a weekday morning and was surprised by how easy parking was…read moreand how uncrowded it felt. That alone made the visit really enjoyable. I was able to take my time, relax, and actually enjoy being out in nature without feeling rushed. I explored the lakeside, mud flats, and part of the South Trail, and the views from the tower were excellent. I also saw a few different bird species and some butterflies along the way. There's also an exhibit showing a model for a new aquarium that's supposed to open in 2028, which was interesting to see. As a longtime Hollywood resident, I can't believe this was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

Until now. Located in a preserved, historic building which was built in the 1920s, you might miss it if you weren't looking for it. It's on the edge of a residential area, and just east of Young Circle, so it gets a little lost in it's surroundings, but it's definitely worth exploring. The parking lot is free, and there's also street parking available. Entrance is $10 for adults, discounted for kids and seniors, and free with membership. The Center holds three exhibition spaces downstairs and one upstairs. The main exhibit space is rather large, which you can tell by looking at the current exhibition (ANIMALS), which showcased various media depictions and representations of animals. Behind the main space, there are also desks and drawings from patrons or the students at the school. There is also an artistic garden which may be a lot more enjoyable when the temperatures cool down. I met Joanna who did an amazing job of providing me with updates about events, history, and meet the artist days, which I believe are also free. I will definitely be back to check out other exhibitions and hopefully be able to attend an exhibition opening or two in the near future. The best word for this museum is eclectic…read more While in Florida for a few weeks, the honey and I treated my MIL to a guest pass with our reciprocal NARM membership benefits. Check in wasn't smooth, but the space is definitely much larger than it appears from the outside. The honey enjoyed Environmental Futures III on the first floor and I enjoyed the 'Somewhere I Belong' installation and the community art upstairs, which was fantastic. They also had a piece by a local glass blower Brenna who participated in the Netflix show Blown Away. The piece had an inverted color scheme, but was otherwise a duplicate to the piece she created when she was eliminated. I would have loved to have seen an entire section dedicated to her pieces because beyond the glass and the art upstairs, the general curation wasn't really to my taste. All in all, the service was upbeat and helpful, but with general admission at $7, ($4 for students) I would call the experience slightly overpriced unless you're here under NARM.

What a great deal!…read more The museum features a variety of art styles and formats, and has exhibits that switch out often so there's always something new to see. They also had a free craft area for kids, and I saw kids doing some sort of art scavenger hunt. There's a café that has specials on the free days as well. I believe it was 2-for-1. The whole first floor was shut down (I assume for building a new exhibit), so I was only able to see about half of the museum. This didn't bother me since my admission was free, but I would've been pretty annoyed if I had paid for a full-price ticket. Even on a normal day, admission is relatively cheap. It's a fun, unique activity and a great way to beat the heat!

Especiallu the scupture tutled "when words become objects"... featuring large scale interactive sculptures , light installations, projection mapping and more.. its a great event to take in art in an alternative form. Highy recommend and best part its free of charge. I only wish it as up for more than 5 days each year. the other half of it is in Dania at the madarts center. i will be going this evening for that half. But based on vids and photos I've seen it looks even better.

There were 10 rooms of lighting, sculpture, sound and visual illusions. It was fun, just some photo opps though nothing especially thought provoking. We went during the last week of the exhibit so there were very few people there and we breezed through This was very similar to the Happy exhibit I went to in Chicago. Tickets for this were $29 each for adults and there was ample parking since it was located in a mall. It was worth it to take some fun pictures in some cool setups. The staff was really good at taking pictures to highlight the exhibit.

My nephew loved the iMAX movie Wild Asia (It was really well done.), the wind simulator and the airplane section. Unfortunately, a lot of the simulators didn't work so he was a bit disappointed. He still liked climbing in the planes. He also liked seeing the big thing at the front with the balls going through the thing that looked like a Ferris wheel. I loved the hockey exhibit. It was really well done and was neat to learn the history of hockey especially the Stanley Cup. Being from Pittsburgh, I loved seeing Sydney Crosby represented in the players area. It was also neat to see the skates, puck and sticks evolve over time. If you have kids (especially if they love science and now sports while the hockey exhibit) definitely come visit.

Although staff were nice, there was absolutely nothing worth the ridiculous fee for entrance (plus another 10-15 for parking). The Broward County libraries are a much better choice.

They offer free entry, free parking, and free tours! Gary was our tour guide and he is amazing! So much history & his stories! He was great! We spent about 3 hours with him and left with so much appreciation for what they did. This is an all volunteer museum so make sure to donate! Former President George H. W. Bush Sr was stationed here during his military service, graduated in 1943. There is a room dedicated to him and his time there! Lots of details! He even stopped by and signed a part of the wall! We can see pics of a young Barbara too! There is so much history here! There is a flight simulator training, vintage models/artifacts, uniforms, etc. Flight 19 that disappeared in Bermuda was from here. It is packed to the brim with memoribilia. Gary told us they have so many items, but can't display it all. The museum building is the only original building left of over 200 buildings of the base complex when it was used from 1942 to 1946. This base made a big impact on the growth of Southern Florida and is now the Ft Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport. They have a private parking lot adjacent to the museum. Definitely recommended!
