It truly is the best way to experience the museum and learn about these incredible creatures. Naftali was amazing! She kept my children, my husband, and me completely engaged while explaining so many fascinating facts and clearing up myths about jellyfish. We learned how jellyfish function without a brain, heart, or lungs, and how scientists are studying them for their potential role in understanding regeneration and developing future medical treatments. It was educational, interactive, and genuinely interesting for our entire family. We walked away looking at jellyfish in a completely different way. Definitely take the tour!

A friend of ours had tickets to see The Odyssey but couldn't make it so we bought his tickets. We…read morehad heard that the movie was specifically made for IMAX viewing and were excited to see it. We only had General Admission tickets which required us to be here at least 90 minutes before showtime. Priority Seating allows you to arrive 45 minutes before showing and gets you in before the general ticket holders. They only sell 100 of the Priority Seating tickets per show and the theater seats 243 people. We had gotten there about 2 hours before showtime and there were already people in line. The best seats to see this are up high and in the center. We didn't get those seats since they were all taken. I've never been here for a movie and thought the screen would extend out to the sides. The movies are projected floor to ceiling so that you see more of the picture. There were some part of the movie where my husband said that he felt a little dizzy. I wish that they had assigned seating so that you didn't have to get there so early to get the best seats. I would suggest that if you're seeing a movie here, that you pay a little extra and get Priority Seating tickets.

The exhibit is whole was really interesting. We spent a lot of time there. One aspect I didn't like was that you have to scan your finger print with your name to make an "avatar" to activate some of the activities. I don't like giving my finger prints or my sons when we don't know what will be done with that information after the exhibit ends so some of the activities we couldn't do. And for the ones we could do some of them were broken. Still had a lot of fun in this exhibit. Highly interactive. Ends September 7 2026 A lot of the permanent exhibits were the same at 2020 which was cool to see my son interact and compare it to how he was as a babe. Again some of the exhibits were under maintenance but it didn't stop us from having a good time. My son loved observing the baby gators and learning more about them and some of the other Florida wildlife. The outdoor exhibit was interesting but some of the instruments/activities were metal and were HOT from the sun. Still nice to get a little sun and lots of shade. There was a good crowd but not too crowded Only critique is that there were two lines for tickets but nothing that designated what line was for what so a lot of people were in the member services line when we just wanted general admission. Other than that it was a great experience. There's parking right across the street in the garage and there's a bunch of restaurants to walk to nearby including a really cute restaurant next door called Emily's garden to get lunch and gelato. Highly suggest bringing refillable water bottles. You'll be in there for about 2-3 hrs if you take your time in each exhibit. We opted out of the holographic theater and the center kids play area but those would be fun to try when we go back

There were 10 rooms of lighting, sculpture, sound and visual illusions. It was fun, just some photo opps though nothing especially thought provoking. We went during the last week of the exhibit so there were very few people there and we breezed through This was very similar to the Happy exhibit I went to in Chicago. Tickets for this were $29 each for adults and there was ample parking since it was located in a mall. It was worth it to take some fun pictures in some cool setups. The staff was really good at taking pictures to highlight the exhibit.

Flamingo Gardens is one of our favorite places in South Florida. Honestly, I'd even call it a…read morepeacock garden because there are so many of them wandering freely throughout the property. I especially love visiting during the winter months when the weather is cooler. It's the perfect time to slow down, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and have a little picnic with the kids. There are plenty of peaceful spots to sit, relax, and watch the peacocks walking around. The grounds are always clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. When you buy your tickets, you can also purchase bird food. We fed both the flamingos and the peacocks, and while it was a fun experience, here's my little tip--don't feed the peacocks from your hand unless you're ready for a pretty strong peck! I learned that one the hard way. There is also a small café, guided tram tours, and on weekends they often have live music, especially in the evenings or during holiday events. Around Christmas, the gardens are beautifully decorated with lights, making the whole place feel even more magical. If you're looking for a relaxing day surrounded by nature, Flamingo Gardens is definitely worth a visit.

Crossing fingers…read more Flamingo Gardens is such a beautiful hidden gem The gardens are gorgeous, the animals are amazing, and there's so much to see beyond just the flamingos. I especially loved seeing the peacocks roaming around, the wildlife, and taking the tram through the gardens. It's a peaceful, family-friendly experience and also a great place to visit if you just want to spend a few hours surrounded by nature. I really appreciated the educational aspect and learning more about the animals and the sanctuary.

A bridge and waterfall are integrated into the property to make this place as whimsy and as tropical as a fantasy island. I was able to take my time, relax, and actually enjoy being out in nature without feeling rushed. I explored the lakeside, mud flats, and part of the South Trail, and the views from the tower were excellent. I also saw a few different bird species and some butterflies along the way. There's also an exhibit showing a model for a new aquarium that's supposed to open in 2028, which was interesting to see. As a longtime Hollywood resident, I can't believe this was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

There is amazing student art work on display from the K-12 Art Search winners, a wonderful scholarship raffle booth with a plethora of prizes to support college scholarships, even Macy's and the Bloodmobile! This is the 52nd annual Art in the Park! That's quite a streak. Held in Liberty Park in Plantation…read morethis annual two day festival features a wide variety of arts and crafts, food, live performances, and children's activities. A highlight of the event is the Art Search which is an art competition for students. This years theme is "Splash into the Arts." I saw a wide variety of items for sale during my visit at all different price points. Some of my favorites were the colorful sun catchers, glass animals, and a wide variety of jewelry. You can definitely knock off some of your holiday shopping list here. My favorite items were by Aranji who makes handcrafted jewelry. I got a chance to talk to Ruth the creator who was so friendly. She was a science teacher who used her knowledge of chemistry to adhere glass to paper in order to make wonderful pendants, rings, and key chains. She had a large selection of already made pedants at an affordable price of 2 for $20 which even included the chain. Rings were $5. I am going to send her some pictures I took and art work my daughter created in order to make custom pendants for the holidays. There is so much food, shopping and fun. Parking is free but limited. You have to find parking around the outside of the park on the swale. They do ask that you leave your pets at home. After visiting this hometown folksy festival it is easy to see why it has lasted so long. I plan on adding it to my annual events calendar.

I finally was able to come by and tour the interior of the house. Tours given by volunteers of the…read moreHollywood Historical Society are offered between and 1 and 4 on the first Sunday of the month through May. I love how the city of Hollywood has embraced their history. There are many historical signs on buildings throughout the city. This house not only tells the story of Vera and Clarence Hammerstein but also the history of Hollywood, Florida. If you have any history questions pertaining to the city, you can ask the knowledgeable volunteers. In addition I was also able to meet with the city historian who was working in a back building during the tour. The 1935 house is a tropical modern design. Features include a variegated tile roof, Cuban and Spanish floor tiles, white stucco walls, and fireplaces with detailed heatolators along the sides. While I love the house my favorite items on the tour were the personal touches of its previous occupants. Vera and Clarence were world travelers and in the Florida room you can see the souvenirs of their travels. Also on display is Clarence's World War I memorabilia. The house has all of the period furniture including a gorgeous Tiffany cabinet. You feel like the homes owners could step back at any moment. Tours are absolutely free and parking is available on the street in front of the house. A big thank you to the volunteers who give their time to make these tours possible. After you finish at the home there are a number of great cafes and coffee shops a short distance away on Young Circle.
