Found this place for a quick lunch before heading to the zoo. It was cute- lots of Alice in Wonderland decor and art. The hostess was working hard with a new baby around her shoulders! I got Smoked Salmon & Toast, which was alright. It had bacon on it, even though that wasn't in the description, and the lady behind me also got surprise bacon on her order - she was upset because she is a vegetarian. The egg cloud wasn't as soft as I expected, but the everything bagel seasoning on it was good. The avocado on the toast wasn't fresh though -some kind of spread that had a weird after-taste. We showed up on a Wednesday around 1pm. It was empty so we were seated right away. This place is old but they have it decorated brightly and fun. They close early so the food is oriented towards the breakfast and brunch group. I had the chicken and waffles ,which was very good. The chicken was cooked nice and tender ,not dry at all. These fries have a coating of seasoning that makes you want a lot more than they give you. Im not a big French fry fan but these were good. The hamburger needed salt and pepper. This was a great first stop! The structure is so beautiful both the front and back felt so much like Nola. The vibe was a little heightened at first and then they played more mellow brunch music. At first it felt like we were in a club it was so intense haha. The food was GREAT and we were both absolutely stuffed. I was so grateful that they had so many Gluten Free options and took Celiac seriously. I was a lot more comfortable when the waitress said that she didn't know but would confirm with the Chef for certain items I asked for. Service - they ask for patrons to wait to be seated and although I was standing there for quite sometime, once I was sat service was great! Recently in the area and looking for a nice breakfast spot that had some interestingly tasty sounding food. This was the place !! The decor is great, not over the top, but definitely Alice in Wonderland, right down to the playing cards in the floor. There were three of us, All with our usual breakfast favorites. Avocado Toast, Eggs Benedict, and an omlette / skillet. We all got something we all loved by the end of the meal. Very clean, fresh fasting food. Presentation was nicely done. I ordered the Courts Benedict and everything was fresh and flavorful. Thank you to the kitchen team. Plus, they serve Pepsi products...woohoo. The seating inside is kinda hodge-podge to match the theming. The bar is super uncomfortable because of the step at the base. Forcing you to lean while eating. The price for breakfast was about $25 with tip. Service. Hmmm. I worked in restaurants for 10 years. I get it. We all have off-days. My server had absolutely no energy. To quote Will and Grace: "theyreminded me of a sad clerk at Blockbuster". On the opposite, there's staff who've been in this industry waaay too long but their "f it" attitude and stories fit right in. So service is a wash. Location, signage and parking. I ended up in the Perdue parking lot and had to double back. The entrance is on the corner but the parking isn't obvious. Other notes. Full bar. Good spot to brunch. Caramel pecan roll: after they heated it the caramel hardened so much that we had to break it off. It was too hard to eat if you have a crown. Crab dip: very good Reuben: biggest disappointment. It is not carved corned beef. It's processed thinly sliced deli meat. They stack it but it can't save the sandwich. Should not call it a Reuben. Burger: requested medium rare (which was noted on our receipt) and got well done. It's a thin burger, so getting it cooked to ordered temp would probably be hard to do. Egg in it was not runny so it did not add moisture. Crab cake Benedict: good but not great. The crab dip was much better. Did we complain about the food? No. We enjoyed each other's company and ate the food. If I had read a review like this one at least I would have been prepared. read more

Add reservations for 11:45 I had to wait front for a good 5 minutes before anybody came up. After I ordered and I finally received my coffee which took about 5 minutes to even get coffee, I got up to go to the bathroom when I came back in less than a couple of minutes My table the coffee was all gone they had cleaned my table. The people the table beside me were complaining very loudly about not receiving their meal that they had ordered and they were there before me. My meal didn't even come out until 12:38 mind you I got there at 11:45. My coffee cup was refilled one time. I even had to ask two different people to get silverware . Next time, we sat at the bar, ordered a mimosa, asked for menus and were told "If I were you I would find another place. Thank you so much to EJ for going the extra mile for me during Easter brunch. The cafe had an Easter buffet planned that I was unaware of when I made my reservation for Easter Sunday. I eat a vegan diet, so I was excited to order something vegan from their regular menu. I was disappointed when there were no vegan options at the buffet except for a sausage. My mother and I were going to leave after our drinks to find somewhere else to eat. EJ came out after going to the chef and said the chef would prepare me something off of the regular menu. I was so relieved and grateful! The veggie skillet was delicious. I am removing one star unfortunately due to the lack of communication about the buffet only set up. An unfortunate miss! My husband ordered a Veggie skillet. The skillet is 6" in diameter. It's similar to a cookie skillet. It was $12. I ordered the Hatter's favorite Platter for $13. This rating is tough, because somethings they do right, and other things, they get very wrong... Service was friendly, but distracted and confused. When we sat down, there were 8 tables filled, nobody waiting, and 10+ people working. I would have expected better service given those numbers. It took awhile for food to come out, and when it did, ingredients were missing. It took almost 15 minutes to get the missing pieces, which amounted to bacon and toast... one would think that would be a quicker turnaround. Food WAS tasty and good though - so the ingredients and quality is certainly achievable, just execution was lacking this morning. Bloody Mary, which they advertise as "award winning", WAS in fact, excellent - though it would have been nicer if the shrimp were peeled instead of shell on - which made it somewhat messy and inconvenient for brunch. We'll likely return again, and give them another shot - they may have just had an off day. read more

The space was classic. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed brunch in this location and had at the pancakes and hummus plate. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. I couldn't finish them all. One issue I had was that the hummus was super salty in the hummus platter... making it really difficult to eat. but overall I enjoyed the dish. I also had the mimosa flight and was a little surprised that they were all room temperature. The flavors also didn't taste natural such as the "mango". Stopped at. ~9:30 am on a Monday. There was a sign saying something about Monday's, so they might not normally be open on Mondays. We had the Mad Platter (2 eggs, toast, potatoes, and meat) and the Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (biscuits and gravy). I didn't see a list of 'meets" so when I ordered I asked for the veggie sausage which I saw below pork sausage on the list of side dishes. It turned out to be a $2 upcharge which they waived after I spoke up to say there was no notice of that on the menu. The biscuit with the Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum seemed like a bisquick/pioneer type biscuit, not one that had the butter cut in to form layers. Both plates were good and reasonably priced ($12 and $14). The coffee was good too. The decor is in keeping with the Lewis Carroll story and was a fun part of the visit. When I arrived there was only one server, but he was very quick on his feet and we were more than satisfied with the service. I only mention this because I saw some reviews while searching for a place to stop that raised service as an issue. It wasn't an issue for us that day. read more

I loved the decor and the very apparent individualist streak of this small business. The music on this particular occasion seemed to prominently feature Limp Bizkit and MCR. Eventually our server came and it was the one I had may eye contact with. So she knew she had customers at her table, from the beginning. She took our drink order and when we said we were ready to order food as well, she made a smart comment like "oh, already?" We'd been staring at the menu for 15 minutes... She forgot one our drinks, when she brought the drinks, and didn't bring it until probably 7 minutes later. After the food came, she did not check on us very often. I had to get things myself from a neighboring table. I ordered a skillet plate and it was very mediocre, with an odd flavor, potentially from the mushrooms. I do love all kinds of mushrooms but this flavor was odd. My wife ordered the smoked salmon toast and it was very good, although somewhat small portions. The coffee was not good, like cheap diner coffee, and as coffee lovers we were extremely disappointed. But when it took so long to get a server we almost left and we should have. And we watched other servers working easily 10 times harder than ours. If the food had been better, we might have overlooked the server and tried the restaurant again. Had a newer server, which is fine but on a weekend she didn't seem to have anyone helping her since service was slow, drinks were wrong, food wasn't great, specials weren't read to us....i mean there was a lot. Four of us went for dinner after arriving in Salisbury. Two adults, two kids, and all of us hungry. Three of the items that we ordered were on the menu, but no longer available. They are changing over to a new menu. Our second choices were very good. Ahi tuna mango salad and crab cake sandwich were very good. Child's cheese quesadilla was a hit, and chicken tenders were very tender with a light breading. And they have a great HH for wine that ends at 6 pm - $5 for a 9 oz. pour! Sweet! The staff were very nice and gave the kids special treats with their juice that usually comes with chocolate milk. The decor is very Alice in Wonderland- very cute.
