Avoid Lafayette Custom Automotive…read more I confirmed multiple times that I was ordering a hidden hitch for my Porsche Cayenne. When I picked up my car, they had installed a large, visible hitch (chipped and rusted) and cut my bumper without my knowledge or consent. I later found out the front desk employee changed the order on her own to "save me money"--something I never approved. They eventually installed the correct hitch, but the damage was already done. My bumper now has a large, unnecessary cut that will cost me around $1,000 to repair. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to tell me the bumper would have needed to be cut anyway--which is misleading. It would not have been cut where they made the visible damage; that only happened because they installed the wrong hitch. Despite all of this being their mistake, they still made me pay half of the $200 overnight shipping to fix it. Unacceptable workmanship, poor communication, and zero accountability.

I was contacted when the parts arrived and made an appointment to deliver the car. The estimated time for repairs was 16-18 hours. Surprisingly, a deposit wasn't required. Then it's like my car vanished. You can't see much in the yard from driving by. I also couldn't see my car from the neighboring business. I walked to DSA from work on the second Thursday to check on the progress. I was told my car was completed and sent to have an alignment performed. I was also told the car would be washed before being released. I was expecting to pick it up the next day but the call never came. Days go by before I remembered to checkout the Yelp review for this place. I began kicking myself for not checking sooner. DSA had a low rating with customers complaining of the length of time their cars were there. On Wednesday(third week) I reached out to a reviewer who just delivered their vehicle and complaining about the amount of time DSA has had their car. I received no response from the reviewer, but magically my car was ready the following day right at opening time. DSA claims my car couldn't be aligned without performing another $2K front end repairs. Then I was asked if my car always ran "rough." I arrived to a dirty car with my stabilitrak light on the dash now. It was definitely riding rough now. I scheduled an appointment for an alignment with Tire Choice earlier that morning and drove straight there from DSA. Within an hour my car was aligned. I didn't even mention anything about the stabilitrak or that it just left a collision shop saying it couldn't be aligned but magically the stabilitrak light was off and my car was riding well again(as it did when I delivered the car to DSA.)
