I had a Borla s Type installed on my Chevy Silverado Trail Boss 6.2L by another shop that was closer to me. They struggled to get it right. The exhaust tips were 4 inches below the correct spot and were uneven. They didn't have the experience and shouldn't have taken on the job in the first place. Not happy, I took my truck over to Mad Hatter and they did a perfect job at a fair price. They did have to make a few modifications to the system, but it came out perfect. Worst Company I have ever dealt with. Refuses to do my exhaust because I " hung up" on Steve or something like that and had Bob do my exhaust he apparently doesn't want to work on my car. Approximately 11 months ago I brought my c300 mercedes in for exhaust work and after I asked him to put the exhaust in my trunk. They damage the paint on my bumper and offered to paint it. I accepted it and they sent me to a paint shop and once I got there and asked when I should schedule an appointment I was flat out screamed at by this uncontrollable monkey. She obviously doesn't love her life. Regarding mad hatter, they wouldn't cover the full price of the bumper repair when I got 3 quotes from different body shops. Regarding this week I had my resonator removed and something else. Steve gave me a quote and I told him I'll prob make an appointment for Tuesday. He told me to call . I couldn't make it so I didn't call and made it another day and spoke with Bob. He offered me a cheaper price and bob did all the work. Then the next day I hear a rattle coming from my catalytic converters and I was quoted $160 to remove from Steve. I called and asked if I can get it removed. They both say no, some made up bullshit excuse that they don't want to work on my car. They're running a scam business, and people are still paying. What an unexpected pleasure it was finding a courteous friendly knowledgable staff coupled with highly skilled personable technicians. I called in the morning and I believe it was Chuck who said, call me 30 minutes ahead of when you plan on arriving. I can let you know if we'll have a lift free to check out your problem. Well, upon pulling up front 25 minutes later and not sure where to park I put down my window as Bob the technician (saw his name on his shirt) greated me. I said, "Where do I park?" He said, "Dave give me the keys, I'll put it on the lift over there and we'll see what the issue could be." As I handed Bob the keys I said, "How did you know my name?" Bob smiled saying, "The office told me you were coming and gave me your first name and the make and model of your car." This service only happens in movies I thought! Well, Bob had it on a lift and in a few minutes he offered a solution I liked saying, "It will be about 65.oo and it will be ready soon... You are welcome to wait in the air conditioned office if you like." About 30 to 40 minutes later Bob strolls in saying, "It's ready... it's parked outside and it's 62.50." he waved and back out into the shop he went. While waiting I found out Bob has twenty years of experience and really knows his stuff. Here's the kicker folks, my Honda dealership wanted 1,300.oo to replace most of the exhaust system not including the muffler. 62.50 Madd Hatter Muffler 1,300.oo Honda Yes...it was an easy choice for a great solution and first class work. So, if you need quality muffler work done with home town reliability and old fashion courtesy go to these guys; or head over to Honda for some really expensive free coffee. YES...I'm I going to share this story. YES...I'm going to be back for any A/C, brake or muffler work. A few years ago I had a muffler problem on my 2000 Lexus RX350. Lexus said they don't spott fix their mufflers, they'd have to replace the whole system $1400. The service agent there pulled me aside. He said "listen, it's not that serious that we have to put in a new system for a hole. Take it to Mad Hatter, it won't be more than $100." I did. They saw me right away. Fixed the hole for $40. Even JM LEXUS recommends MAD HATTER! (secretly) LOL. My Highlander is about to go off warranty. Mad Hatter is the only mechanic shop I'll use. 4/17 So I brought my Highlander in today. The same people, the same prompt service, same fair reasonable prices. Tom in the office allowed me to wait. I had my BMW worked on (very reasonable price) and the work was done in good time and the employees and owner are very honest. Came here because my check engine light was on. It's been on for about a year. The tech took me a few minutes before closing, as I called ahead to let them know I was getting there 5 min to 5pm. They checked my car and gave me their honest opinion stating the catalytic converter did not need to be changed unless I notice a performance issue. I appreciate their honesty. My car was being louder than normal. Initially I took it to the Nissan dealer, mostly hoping that whatever the problem was, it would still be under warranty, it wasn't, and they wanted to charge me over $1000 to replace the entire exhaust, but needed to order parts. I was a little annoyed that a Nissan dealer didn't have parts for a newer Sentra...it's a pretty common car, so I decided not to do it mostly out of spite and started doing a little more research. I read great things about Mad Hatter on google reviews, but not knowing a lot about cars I was hesitant, then when I went in for an oil change at Tires Plus, they also mentioned that it was a decent place. I dropped my car off early in the morning. I had called to make an appointment and they were very helpful and friendly on the phone but they said that's not really how they do things and I should just bring it in first thing in the morning. I got a call a few hours later that they had found the problem and wanted to know if it was ok to do the work for $43....$43?! I guess one pipe had become partially detached from another and just needed to be welded. After the dealer wanted to fix the same issue for $1000?! Sold. Once I okayed the repair the car was ready within the hour, I picked it up, paid, and left $950 richer. I would highly recommend Mad Hatter. They were friendly, and professional, and did a great job explaining things to me in a way I could understand so I didn't feel like I was being ripped off. read more

A few hours after dropping of the truck, MHM called me and said they could take care of the problem for about $75, but it may run up to $100. I have been bringing my 2002 ford focus to Mad Hatter for several years. I was satisfied up until my last repair. I had an alternator replaced about a year and a half ago. I drive very little and put about 6500 miles on my car since then. The alternator need to be replaced AGAIN. I was informed that there would be no credit or allowance given for my repair....and that alternators are like that. I find it hard to believe that an alternator would last only for this amount of mileage. They were very apologetic but it still cost me $300. I seriously doubt I will return to Mad Hatter for future auto repairs. read more

Have issues with EGR on vehicle. Since I work I had my wife check with them since they come highly recommended from my neighbor and got tires changed there a couple of times. My wife spoke with the guy at the desk and comfimed I would be there on Thursday my only day off. I get there and he said he told my wife he said to come in Monday because he's short staffed. I decided to shop around and see if I can get it done somewhere else on my only day off. Found a place but they were a little more expensive so i decided to have my wife call back to confirm Monday since he changed up on us once already. My wife says he was very rude this time around changing prices on the part and installation and wont confirm anything anymore. At the end of the call he decided to not work on the car. I will never come here again. I rather go somewhere and pay a little more and get a free car check and estimate compared to their $50 change and get a cut and dry price without the back and forth of this place and most of all CUSTOMER SERVICE. My 2004 dodge was acting up and I was told by a mechanic I needed to replace the control arms, front brakes and some other work, (around $1400-$1600). I just had the control arms replaced about a year and a half ago so I knew they were fine. I came here through a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised at the honesty and fairness I received.
