They wanted me to be happy with the work. If we stayed with the original plan of having the workers stay the full 15 hrs, there wouldn't be this issue and I would have $800 back. I didn't want or need a rush job done. I only want to pay $2100. Not $2900. I was willing to pay a few hundred more for additional supplies. Adding more workers was never discussed. I don't think that it's fair or right to throw this fee at me because you added another worker.

When the start day arrived, it was complete radio silence. I texted him at 9:00 AM--no response. I followed up with a phone call at 10:00 AM--no answer. This level of unprofessionalism right out of the gate is a massive red flag. If a contractor cannot even show up or communicate on day one, you cannot trust them with your home or your money. If you are considering using him, make sure you double-check his skillset, look for actual proof of his work, and absolutely never ever leave a deposit upfront. Protect yourself and your wallet. Save yourself the headache and find someone reliable instead.

The business is now a woman and her daughter, Bert Bennett past away several years ago. Clearly Bert was the one who knew how to work. Walls were not prepped. Dust was not removed from the walls before painting and left rough spots like 40 grit sandpaper all over the walls. Nail holes from pictures and other imperfections were not filled and sanded. Paint was applied improperly. It was applied much too thinly and the walls were not rolled out horizontally first and then vertically to even out the paint. Corners and around trim was not cut in evenly at all. The previous paint was visible where ever you chose to look except for where there was paint on the oiled custom made woodwork which I had to clean off. Never finished the job. I was supposed to get two coats on two rooms of one color and my kitchen painted another color. Only three quarts of paint were used on the two rooms. Paint was thin and streaky, uneven roller marks. Never even started the kitchen. In the end, there were several lost outlet and switch covers made of cast brass that I had recently purchased, other covers in plastic just missing, paint spatter to clean up from floors, scratches on the floor from moving furniture, a new CO/smoke detector was missing(?!), smoking on the job when told specifically I have a nonsmoking property, no vacuuming or final clean-up, delayed and delayed again, just terrible, unprofessional all the way through.

They are professional and friendly. They sprayed 2 coats of semi on all the trim, mantle, doors, and stairs and the finish is without brush strokes and looks fantastic. They did routine wall and ceiling repairs plus a few more involved repairs and one tricky one and now you can't tell there was any wall defects. I have a 16 ft. vaulted ceiling and associated high walls which was no problem. Unique started on time and finished on time and were competitively priced. They cleaned up each night and at the end of the job. I used to paint for work and have always painted my own houses. My high ceiling prompted me to hire painters and I'm glad I did.
