GREAT EXPERIENCE My friends and I decided to go to OOB for my birthday and also decided as a spur of the moment to go get tattoos! We were worried because we have always gone to the same guy for our tats but this place did not disappoint! He was hilarious, laid back and light handed! He made sure we were comfortable and MADE SURE that we were more than satisfied with them before tattooing them. He made me love a tat that I wasn't too sure about, and I may just travel to him for my next one!

I walked in with my cousin on June 20th 2024. They greeted us. We put our name in and had about a 40 minute wait . I was told my artist has been doing this for 30 years and it shows! I love my permanent art! He made me feel comfortable and didn't judge me as I whimpered in pain. He made me feel at ease and did the drawing I had to the exact with adding just the right amount of color. I love it so much! I highly recommend this place! Not only was the woman who did my tattoo rude, she also messed it up. I have to go to a different tattoo shop just to get it touched up and it's going to end up being the same price I paid for the initial tattoo. When I called to tell them about the tattoo issue, I was very nice and truly just wanted them to be aware so she doesn't botch another tattoo. She didn't apologize or even address it, all she said was "thanks for calling." I'm not happy! read more

While staying in Old Orchard Beach I decided to check out the local tattoo shops. After scoping out three, I decided on the Mad Hatter's. It was perfect. Three artists, great atmosphere. Everyone was upbeat , you could tell they enjoy what they do. I sat down with the owner, showed him my idea and he went above and beyond to create my piece of art. I was impressed he actually takes pride in his profession. I highly recommend this studio read more

I have known Tom Dube for about 8 years. He has done 6 tats for me and a ridiculous amount for my husband! Mad Hatter has become a place we can't go without! Great people, great stories. The shop is clean and comfortable and Tom has always answered questions and has GREAT ideas for customizing! I couldn't recommend a place more than I recommend MAD HATTER & TOM DUBE! read more

I went to Mad Hatter's Tattoo over the summer with my boyfriend and we got matching tattoos of our names on our wrists. I had an amazing tattoo artist he did a fantastic job on my tattoo it came out fantastic. My artist had a great personality, was really fun and my tattoo came out great. My boyfriend...ahm, not so much. His tattoo was not as good as mine. The coloring is completely off. It's not all completely filled in and it looks horrible. His tattoo artist was not very nice, personable or pleasant.. Luckily, we know of a fantastic tattoo artist that can fix the mistake right here in MA..and we'll have it fixed this summer..But, it's sad you didn't get what you paid for.. read more

The Best Tattoo Artist i have ever seen! Not only has Tom done 6 of my tattoo's, but I have seen his other work and let me tell you, out of this world!!! The stuff this guy does freehand will blow you away! I wait untill I go to OOB every year to get my tattoo's, I won't let anyone else do it. The experience he has can't be outdone. Clean shop, knowledgeable artists, great atmosphere. No wonder there is a line everytime you go. Well worth the wait. Tom is the artist I always see, and he can do the most amazing work. Absolutely the worst ink I have ever even seen. Artist was an ass and very full of himself. Outline was left incomplete, coloring was mediocre and blending was non-existent. Ended up getting their work covered by an artist in NH. read more

I originally went to Coopa Creations to get a tragus piercing. The girl did an amazing job and it was an awesome time. It's been about a week since then and I have had no complications. Earlier this morning the front ball of the piercing fell off and was nowhere to be found. The girl at Coopa is only there on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I live close to good and evil so I stopped in to see if they had a replacement and could fix it for me. There was only two people there, and one of them was working on a tattoo. The other was not doing anything, and when I said what I needed he seemed like he did not want to do it and asked the other guy to. The guy tattooing said he was busy and he would appreciate it if he could do it. I took a seat and waited ten minutes for him to set up a room. I understand I was a walk in appointment, but he went out to smoke and was talking to people. It almost seemed like he was procrastinating seeing me. He finally came in and reeked of cannabis. He was looking at it and tried on the ball, in which it did not fit. He then did this three more times. He kept trying different piercings in which nothing would fit. He said he knew what he needed but could not find it. He got so frustrated that he was shouting fuck repeatedly. He then yelled for the guy who was tattooing and said he could not find the piece he needed. The other guy stood up from where he was working, grabbed the right piece and gave it to him immediately. The guy still seemed frustrated and angry. He was shaking when trying to put the ball back on. He was pulling at the piercing aggressively trying to maneuver my ear, knowing I told him it was a fresh piercing. I had tears in my eyes when he finally got it. He did not treat me like a person. It was so painful and that thought never crossed his mind. The other guy tattooing apologized for his anger and didn't make me pay for the jewelry ball replacement. I am now writing this a couple hours later, and my piercing that had no complications prior is now swollen, throbbing, and bleeding non-stop. An easy fix was extremely complicated and handled unprofessionally. I wouldn't recommend anything about this place. I just felt so uncomfortable the whole time and now I am suffering the consequences of someone's carelessness. I am sorry again, I know reviews can harm businesses but I think people should know this about the staff of this place before going in for a body modification.

My husband and I have been going to see Tom for 6 years. Each year, we go to see, ONLY, him, to get work done. Either my husband gets one, or I get one, or we both get one! This past December, my 8 year old passed away, so I went in to see Tom yesterday. I told him I didn't know what I wanted but I would leave it up to him. He did a beautiful feather with her 2 favorite colors, purple and blue. As always, I absolutely love it! And as always, I absolutely adore him! As always, I absolutely love it! And as always, I absolutely adore him! He always treats us like family, we go in there and he always knows who we are we don't feel like we're going in to see a stranger out of tattoo shop. The real deal. Most authentic shop and tattooer in the area. The old school sign attracted me right away. The doormen providing reception were informative straight up, and chill. I knew immediately I had gone to the right place. Thanks guys. Didn't get a tattoo so the only reason i'm not giving it a one star is because of this. Guy in there is the very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Only do 18+ even with parent consent and signature.
