I purchased 3 plants in January for pick-up in May. It was an effortless pick-up and the plants are lovely! I will come back.

Unfortunately, this is not the year to go to lavender farms in New Jersey. The lavender was so scarce due to the excessive rains. The owner told us that they're trying to figure how they can overcome this problem in order to have thriving lavender. We did see a beautiful purple flowering plant. Check out my pics. At first, I thought it was lavender. One of the owners told us it wasn't lavender. It was called a Nepeta Plant. I checked out Nepeta. It's AKA is "Catmint" like Catnip (same effect). An Indian teepee stands behind the Nepeta plant. One can sign up for a goat yoga sessions in here. The farm has a small souvenir shop with (of course) everything lavender scented- candles,room mist and a few other items. The dried lavender we purchased barely had any scent. Hopefully, the NJ lavender farm owners can figure out how to make their lavender farms thrive. Mad Lavender Farm is located way way off the beaten path at 452 County Road 579 Milford, NJ. This is such a quaint farm! My friend and I attended goat yoga here and had a blast. The goats are adorable and playful. We all had so much fun playing with them and taking lots(!!) of pictures. We even got to hold them and bottle feed them. It was an all-around great experience and it's impossible to not walk out of there with a huge smile on your face! While the lavender crop isn't doing well this year due to the weather, it's still a great place to visit and check out their different lavender products. We tried the lavender lemonade which was good, as well as the lavender shortbread cookies which were out of this world! Definitely a must try. read more

I've been wanting to try Goat Yoga for over 1 year now. I'm so glad I booked the partner yoga class for my daughter (she's 12 ) and I. It's a little over an hour drive from where we live and it was totally worth it. The farm is so quaint, the class was intimate and the instructor was great! The goats were so cute, you have the opportunity to feed them, and at one point I had 2 goats on my Back! Lol.. It was a wonderful experience to have, especially with my daughter. Afterwards, we went shopping in the the tiny shop on the farm, where you can buy homemade lavender items. What a memorable experience! I will definitely be back to check out future events. So much fun! Forget yoga, this is get comfortable and play with baby goats! The instructor was very sweet and down to earth. She led the class to experiment with participants to make a bridge for baby goats to romp over you, or the group posed to make L O V E (super cute). The farm is large, and is home to chickens too. I loved the out door sink area in a rustic hut and of course lavender soap. There is a small gift shop for snacks and toiletries and tshirts. Beautiful sunflowers. Outdoor portable potty. Our family drove from Brooklyn to hang out with baby goats and it was one of the best and most memorable family trips of our lives. The owners were so welcoming and great to chat with. The baby goats range from 1-2 months old and have such the sweetest and gentlest temperaments and cuddled in our arms (we bought two 20 min time slots). Our 8 year old son was in pure bliss. Adrienne, one of the owners, is a very talented artist and you will see her amazing artwork all throughout the farm. We bought a bunch of lavender goodies like misting spray, tshirt, lavender honey and lip balm. Can't wait to come back next year!!! read more

This was truly an amazing experience!!! I've done yoga with goats before at another farm, but this was so much better. Maximum of 10 people only and we are inside an enclosed area in a circle. So, you will spend an hour surrounded by goats. If you are a hardcore Yogi, this will be more about the animals than the yoga, which is what I expected anyway and why I chose to do this. Our instructor was super nice and everyone in class too. The goats were beyond adorable. They'll hop on your back, nibble on your hair, shirt, but just an amazing time overall. There is also a little shop where you can buy candles, soaps, etc. And of course pick your own lavender. I also love that they are open on Sundays, cuz I work on Saturdays. I'll definitely be returning before the summer ends and worth the 50 minute drive each way. read more

I hosted a bachelorette party here this past weekend where we had a goat yoga session followed by a picnic. Even though the weather forecast wasn't good, they set up a tent for our group so that the rain wouldn't impact our time. The farm was beautiful and the staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Some friends and I were tired of always meeting up over brunch and wanted to try another activity in the summertime, so we booked a lavender picking session in June and had a great time! It's such a serene and peaceful place and smells delicious when the lavender is in bloom. We had about half an hour to peruse the field and pick lavender (both the English and French varieties) at our leisure with baby goats roaming about! Adrienne was great; she taught us the correct way to harvest and dry lavender and was really attentive, plus the sessions were capped at 6-8 people so it was definitely a little slice of serenity and not too crowded. They also wrapped up our buds and provided some instructions when we left, highly recommend visiting if you want to do something with a small group of friends/family! read more

My friend and I did the goat yoga and sound bath. It was a ton of fun. The yoga is done under a tree so it was very cool and the goats were super friendly. Do not bring a yoga mat you love because the goats will eat it, but they have spare mats you can use. They will also nibble on your clothes so be prepared for that. Mad Lavender Farm is a magical spot hidden away in beautiful Hunterdon County. You can tell that this farm was loved into being by Adrienne and Don. I attended the recent loom workshop. It was terrific. The rain didn't even put a damper (pun intended) on the class. Excellent instruction by Kelly, good company, we were encouraged to work/learn at our own pace, and we got to take the loom and materials home - a wonderful surprise. On top of all that - the baby goats were born the night before! I'll be coming back for more events and to browse and shop in The Tiny Shop. read more

This hidden gem is the perfect getaway from the city. I discovered it through Instagram and booked the goat yoga class for my friend's birthday. We had such a blast! You start out with sound therapy which grounds you, then as you begin the yoga practice the goats are brought in and they love to play! WOW! Going to a lavender field has always been a dream of mine so maybe I'm biased but I just love the experience Adrienne and her partner are creating at Mad Lavender Farm. You will go because you can pick your own lavender and raspberries, and that will be amazing, but you will soon find out that these purple and red goodies aren't the stars of Mad Lavender... That title belongs to the baby goats (kids?)- Charlie and Lewis Carroll. They give you a basket, scissors and tips on how best to cut your lavender then let you loose in the field! If you're lucky you'll have a cute little white goat at your heels. They also have big plans and a lot of potential- I'm looking forward to going at least a couple more times this summer and to continuing the tradition in the years to come! read more

Doing yoga with goats was a blast -- but social distancing was not taken seriously enough. Mad Lavender advertises its goat yoga classes as adhering to the social distancing standards -- 6ft of distance between participants, masks worn, etc. However, we found that these practices were very loosely enforced. At the beginning of the class, the instructor stated that if we arranged our mats far enough apart, we wouldn't have to wear masks. She also offered to wear a mask if it would make us feel comfortable. We didn't ask her to, since we assumed that she would stay 6ft away, as promised. So far so good. However, once the class began, there were many times when the instructor approached us to facilitate certain aspects of goat yoga (e.g., bringing the goats to us) before we had the chance to ask her to stay away or put on a mask. Since the class was advertised as a safe event, masks should not have been optional if the instructor was planning to approach her students so many times. The instructor was a fantastic yoga instructor, but it was concerning how freely she approached us, especially considering how many other students she interacts with each day. I am now concerned I'll come down with the coronavirus in the next two weeks. On the grounds of the farm, too, mask wearing was not enforced. Around the farm shop, it was difficult to avoid coming into close quarters with other students who weren't wearing masks or maintaining 6ft of distance. The bottom line: The class, while fun, was not what I signed up for. It was advertised as a safe event where everybody would be wearing a mask. Please start enforcing this policy to ensure everybody can enjoy the goats without putting their health at risk. read more

We just got home from our first Baby Goat Yoga class and all I can say is OMG! Such a worthwhile experience. Owner Adrienne is so sweet and welcoming and the farm is beautiful. I went with my parents and our friend and we were laughing and smiling the entire time. The goats are adorable and very calm. The whole experience was relaxing and unique! I do recommend bringing an older yoga mat since the goats are known to pee! Would do again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Adrienne!!! read more
