Pros: Gourmet tacos were absolutely delicious. Their "homemade" tortillas were were thin and fresh. Creativity resulting in excitement and satisfaction. Cons: $5 per taco is rather expensive. I've had other gourmet tacos at around $3 which I find reasonable. Or even better just go south of the border and pickup a plate of tacos al pastor for less.

Chicken Tiki Masala...AMAZING and a must try!

In a country where authentic customer service is becoming extinct and the bottom dollar is preferred over the customer experience is where Mad Pambazos comes into the picture. I visited a friend in San Pedro and we decided to grab a few brews at the Brouwerij brewery. I was hungry and noticed the Mad Pambazos food truck parked outside in the courtyard. It was later in the night. Bryan and Joe were wrapping things up and closing down for the night. I was starving as I hadn't eaten dinner and expressed my ferocious appetite. Bryan and Joe obliged and prepared a Chicken Tiki Masala sandwich. I was ecstatic for their willingness to feed me and their keen customer service qualities. I was more ecstatic about the unique and mouth watering taste of the sandwich! Bravo! From one fellow New Yorker to another, thank you as I will forever be grateful for your selfless and down to earth gesture.

Ton Ton Taco and People Eater Pambazo!

UPDATE: I wish I could give this truck 10 stars! I make a point to visit whenever they are near my office, not just for the great food but also for the customer service and good conversations had while waiting for my food! I have had the Silvertongue's Chicken Pambazo, the People Eater Pambazo, and the Ton Ton Taco.... not a single thing to say against any of them - all are KILLER. Joe and his team sure do have one excellent truck with some bomb-a** food!

*These burgers are massive and overflowing. I ate the doof warrior with a fork and knife. *The workers here are super friendly and informative. *There are a dozen bottles of salsa on ice. The doof warrior was exploding with cole slaw and flavor. I kept saying " wow this is so tasty" while eating it. Silvertongue's chicken pambazo was just as huge as the doof warrior. Same mouth watering flavor as well. I had two bites of my girlfriends chicken pambazo and I don't think I had a piece of chicken. The flavor of the pambazo as a whole was so delicious I can't even complain. Well done mad pambazos!

Holy MOLY !!!!! You absolutely cannot go wrong with this food truck!! Everything I was about to order, I was afraid to because I didn't know about 'duck heart' or 'pig foot'. Bryan and Macks explained every dish to me so I knew what I was expecting. These guys are FOOD GODS!!! Please do yourself a favor, and put your fate in their hands, and let them order for you!!! Curry sweet potatoes, OMG YUM, hot sauces galore and house made!!! Enjoy!!!!!

9 dls for a little "sandwich" that had a lot of cabbage and a bit of meet :(

As a reluctant vegetarian, I was simply stunned by the sweet potato tacos! I would eat them all day every day!

They still welcomed us, not like other places that are visibly upset. I had to use the restroom and it was super clean, kinda TMI but I loved that they even had tampons, pads and baby wipes in there. I thought that was super sweet and thoughtful and most places don't offer. They even worked it out so we could still have breakfast even though it was super late. We had the spinach and egg sandwich and strawberry banana with peanut butter. The bread is a perfect combination of crunchy/toasted but also soft and flavorful. Everything is super fresh, from the greens, no wilting and the fruit. You can tell everything is of the highest quality. The cheese was melty and stringy! They also made a lavender latte with just a splash of coffee since it was for my daughter. The homemade syrup was so delicious! Next time I'll make sure to come earlier so we could enjoy the cute patio area and I can try the coffee, which I'm sure is amazing!! I must tell you this is no ordinary coffee shop, they have authentic cacao from Venezuela and other countries. They brew their coffee fresh and it's one of a kind. Now, let's not forget their famous churros. I tried the small nugget box Churros. These are so tasty and crunchy. All their churros are made fresh every single day. Nothing in this place is frozen. No cheap frozen churros or dark looking Churros, they change the oil every two days. Veronica was the one who attended to my service today and she told me the story about Hector's passion for quality and service. They have perfected their approach to making quality churros and coffee. They also have world famous Churro ice cream, so rich and delicious The location is clean and has plenty of parking in the back. So it's quite the coup that I finally made it on over to the Heights DABS! A slice of that 18 inch pie is on the brain today as I skip up the mini-staircase into the joint. Having just come from another not-to-be-named Pizza spot in the DTLA to NELA corridor, my hangdog face belies my energetic hoppin-pep-in-the-step into Heights, shaking off a droopy and disappointingly dry slice amidst the brain-bleeding profanity laced hate-punk screaming over that joint's speakers as I sized up the Margherita I always use as an avatar to benchmark how we dooooin' in the pizza quality and taste department no matter where I go. I confess I've been captured and SPOILED by love affairs with Greek Pizza in Boston, Deep Dish in Chicago, NYC greezy gooey goodness at 3am, and of course the ultimate seduction of sublime simplicity of the Neapolitan Pizzas of Napoli. Yes, I am a sucker for the traditional brick oven Margheritas and Bufalinas of Italia, just that simple barometer of OG greatness, minimalistic bliss. Less than 5 bucks and 10 min later, I'm ambling down said teeny stairs with a large warm white cardboard box that seems far too large for a mere SLICE. Have they made a packaging error? I was expecting a small thin wilty Dixie plate! These days, we don't wanna waste cardboard, do we? Driving off, I contemplate a spot to pull over along the Arroyo Seco to enjoy my dining behind the wheel. I just can't hold in my wondering, patience is definitely NOT a virtue when curiosity is just killing this Jazz Cat. A quick stop at a red light later, I can't hold it in any longer. FLIP. UP. THAT. LID! Daaaaaaammmnnnn! That is one MONSTROUS slice, as I slyly smile in astonishment! But my sly smile slowly segues to sadness, then semi-panicked confusion, disorientation, even! For THIS is not the Margherita one familiarly recognizes as the artistic minimalistic masterpiece a proper Neapolitan Margherita MUST BE! I am starting to get anxious, angsty, and now a bit ANGRY! what a fool I was! Instead I am misled into chow down mode to consume a Godzilla-sized molten mess of mossy dry basil haphazardly strewn about to and fro across the pie, resembling katsuo bonito flakes dancing around in the disarray of their differential dehydration! Inexplicably, jagged rows of somewhat square Roma tomatoes are lined up in lazy formations like a disorganized military company. What's more, the gooey globs of mozzarella are NOT expertly anchored down to the bed of cheese below, supposed to cling to the pie while providing just enough protruding relief like an old globe map with a mountain range rising above the horizon. Nope, they are instead here and there and almost everywhere, seemingly untethered to the matrix of cheese below, chaotically floating around like slightly rectangular glops of pale possible goodness?!!? JT, hold it together, you must attack this mess while it's still hot. Beep Beep! THE LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN MANY SECONDS AGO! Get thee to the Arroyo! Minutes later, I'm at my perch. I bite into the unruly beast. I am pleasantly greeted by a most satisfying CRUNCH! Then a chewy tug-tremendous! Then the mass of basil flakiness flying through my mouth and down the hatch, chased by those deeeelish misshapen untethered white cubes o' cheesiness charging down my throat aside tons of tumbling tomatoes! It's an absolute avalanche of WOW! It's like there's a party in my mouth, and the most unlikely heroes showed up and showed out! Let's add the Unconventional Neapolitanical Pizzas of Lincoln Heights to the Lovefest List! Heights DABS, you've made my day. On to meet up with long lost friends converging in HP from nearby points dearly loved, I'm feelin' GRRRREEEEAT! DONE.

Word to the wise, if you somehow end up going to this Jersey Mike's and ask for ANY extra meat please KNOW THIS, although the sandwich tech will say "there is an extra charge for extra meat" just know they do not openly tell you what the extra fee will be. MAKE SURE TO ASK; I did not. I assumed it was like other sandwiches places $2-$3 extra. I was absolutely wrong; $5.59 is the extra fee. That is pretty much another sandwich. The last photo is what they are considering extra meat. Please look at the photo's I posted to see exactly what you will receive for $41.09 from this Jersey Mike's Subs (sandwiches; NOT steak or lobster. A SANDWICH. A $41 sandwich kids. a S A N D W I C H). 1 sandwich 1 small bag of lays chips 1 brownie 1 small Gatorade Total= $41.09 and I gave a $3 because I absolutely did not realize I was being charged $41.09 for basically a sack lunch. So $44.09 in total. Jersey Mike's, I should have stuck to my guns and kept the promise I made to myself a few years ago when I said, I would never go back to Jersey Mike's. I guess I can say this is my fault. I'm actually kind of glad that I went there tonight because I have a Production on Monday and I was going to have the Production Cordinator order a few platters of sandwiches, chips, and drinks for the crews first meal from this Jersey Mike's. Talk about a close one! We have a nice budget for crafty, first and second meal (if we roll into second meal) but with this stores non-upfront disclosure on pricing for certain things, they may take too much of the production budget and we'll be forced to film on phones or use flipbooks!
