Finally got a chance to try Mad Pambazos while we were at Monkish Brewery over in Torrance. I've heard great things about this Mad Max themed truck (their slogan is "Oh what a lovely sandwich"). As we had a smaller appetite, we grabbed a pair of tacos. A big bonus was that they hand make every single corn tortilla. The Ton Ton Tattoo Taco comes with sliced brisket, kimchi diakon, scallions, and a korean chili vinaigrette. It was pretty good, the brisket was pretty tender and had a great marinated flavor to it. It might be a little bit spicy though, so fair warning. They have a great selection of sauces which complimented the tacos as well. Our favorite was the mango habanero but its got some real heat to it so watch out!

Love to support great food projects.... especially when they're backed by great people! Bryan and Max make some amazing dishes PACKED with deep and complex flavors. Their offerings bring together flavors and ingredients from all over the world! Mexican flavors fused together with curries, Caribbean and Asian influences. The Pambazos are bulky and delicious. Grab some napkins and dive into the smoked potato Pambazo, or the Braised Goat! They offer tacos with fresh tortillas. Their salads and small bites are fresh and crunchy! Always look forward to my next meal with these guys !!

Pros: Gourmet tacos were absolutely delicious. Their "homemade" tortillas were were thin and fresh. Creativity resulting in excitement and satisfaction. Cons: $5 per taco is rather expensive. I've had other gourmet tacos at around $3 which I find reasonable. Or even better just go south of the border and pickup a plate of tacos al pastor for less.

Chicken Tiki Masala...AMAZING and a must try!

In a country where authentic customer service is becoming extinct and the bottom dollar is preferred over the customer experience is where Mad Pambazos comes into the picture. I visited a friend in San Pedro and we decided to grab a few brews at the Brouwerij brewery. I was hungry and noticed the Mad Pambazos food truck parked outside in the courtyard. It was later in the night. Bryan and Joe were wrapping things up and closing down for the night. I was starving as I hadn't eaten dinner and expressed my ferocious appetite. Bryan and Joe obliged and prepared a Chicken Tiki Masala sandwich. I was ecstatic for their willingness to feed me and their keen customer service qualities. I was more ecstatic about the unique and mouth watering taste of the sandwich! Bravo! From one fellow New Yorker to another, thank you as I will forever be grateful for your selfless and down to earth gesture.

UPDATE: I wish I could give this truck 10 stars! I make a point to visit whenever they are near my office, not just for the great food but also for the customer service and good conversations had while waiting for my food! I have had the Silvertongue's Chicken Pambazo, the People Eater Pambazo, and the Ton Ton Taco.... not a single thing to say against any of them - all are KILLER. Joe and his team sure do have one excellent truck with some bomb-a** food!

*These burgers are massive and overflowing. I ate the doof warrior with a fork and knife. *The workers here are super friendly and informative. *There are a dozen bottles of salsa on ice. The doof warrior was exploding with cole slaw and flavor. I kept saying " wow this is so tasty" while eating it. Silvertongue's chicken pambazo was just as huge as the doof warrior. Same mouth watering flavor as well. I had two bites of my girlfriends chicken pambazo and I don't think I had a piece of chicken. The flavor of the pambazo as a whole was so delicious I can't even complain. Well done mad pambazos!

Holy MOLY !!!!! You absolutely cannot go wrong with this food truck!! Everything I was about to order, I was afraid to because I didn't know about 'duck heart' or 'pig foot'. Bryan and Macks explained every dish to me so I knew what I was expecting. These guys are FOOD GODS!!! Please do yourself a favor, and put your fate in their hands, and let them order for you!!! Curry sweet potatoes, OMG YUM, hot sauces galore and house made!!! Enjoy!!!!!

Today, food trucks serve gourmet, unique and awesome food. Thank you Get Toasted for making us believe in the power of food trucks!

Today I had some time to kill, and decided to try to catch the Glowfish food truck (which rarely…read moreseems to come downtown) at CNN (Sunset & Cole in Hollywood.) I didn't get there until 1:50, and just as I park and start walking toward the truck, it pulls out and I watch my planned pancake disappear. But hey, when life hands me lemons, most of the time I can make lemonade. Instead of heading back to the car, I decide to see what other food trucks are there (there's still a half dozen left.) I've had too many mediocre food truck meals, so now I usually only hit those that score a 4-5 on the Yelp-o-meter. So nothing catches my eye until I see "Get Toasted." It's got a line bigger than the others, but I'm not pure sheep, so I Yelp it and it scores solidly. I get in line, study the menu, and am pleasantly surprised by the prices. I decide to go for the three salbutes (mini tostada-like things) and drink special, and get the day's special salbute on the side. The staff on the truck were super-friendly and polite. They earned one star for great service before I even got the food. WHAT I HAD: Trio of salbutes (I chose carnitas, short rib and pork belly) Small peach vanilla iced tea Extra salbute (spicy crab, their daily special) MOST FAVORITE TO LEAST FAVORITE: (but to be honest, I'd eat all of them again except maybe the short rib) Carnitas - DE-FREAKIN-LICIOUS. Moist and juicy and lots of flavor. Pickled onions and cilantro were perfect complement. Pork Belly - Crispy and fatty and lots of flavor. Spicy Crab - yummy -- and loads of crab -- but not really spicy. Would have been a clear fav for me if the flavor was punched up just a little more. Either more spice or a citrus kick would've made this my #1 instead of my #3. Short Rib - a tiny bit dry and not quite enough flavor. The only other two notes I'd give: 1) Take some of the stems off the cilantro before chopping it. I love cilantro, but the stems can get bitter when there's a lot of them. I ended up fishing some of them out and enjoyed it a lot more. 2) The peach vanilla iced tea (which was a sweetened black tea, I believe) was really good, but too sweet for my taste. It was in the ballpark of most bottled commercial iced teas (Snapple, Nestea) which is a little sweeter than I like. But that's me. Others no doubt will love it as it is. FINAL VERDICT: I thought it was an excellent (and a very good value) meal for $10 flat. I would definitely go again. A few tweaks and I'd give it 5 stars.

Two very talented and humble chefs run the truck and they are not afraid of suggestions or recommendations! I'll point out my favorites from their menu and some from their catering menu (yes, I ordered catering from them for Christmas) Ceviche- Seriously so good!! When I first tried it at their soft opening it was very spicy, I love spicy but I pointed it out through their DM and they kindly took my suggestion of maybe making less spicy for others that can't really handle the heat Smash Burger - SOLID comes with fries or tots depending. Eggplant Rollantini- OMG! I'm so glad I decided to try this because this is my favorite!!! It comes with spaghetti on the bottom and just all the flavors in this dish is just so satisfying! Borracha tacos - VALUE! 3 tacos smothered in meat and sauce... CCC Churo Chapsal YUM! There's always room for dessert! I had their Lomos but it seems like every review talks about their lomo so I'll skip and move on to some of the catering dishes I had. For Christmas catering we had the Lomo, Mediterranean Chicken, Spaghetti Meatballs and chocolate bread pudding The Mediterranean Chicken is absolutely delicious! The chicken breasts were so soft and tender, I had to read the menu again to make sure it was chicken breasts! I would totally order a whole catering portion for myself next time. Their guava lemonade makes me very happy haha Oh! They have something called the FUEGO SAUCE -- It is not for the weak.. it will set your mouth on fire but it is SSOOO good. Every time I go I ask for a tub .... HAHA I put that S** on errthang!!! One of the best local businesses! They are on Grubhub too so you can get it delivered to you. The burger is a great portion as well and pro tip- add avocado and bacon. SO GOOD!! -borracha tacos: 5/5!!!! This dish I LITERALLY crave every week!!! Its a shredded beef taco but the way that they add the flavoring, juices, and sauces has me coming back!! P.s. ask for the el fuego sauce which is SOO spicy but I LOVE!!! I slather my tacos in it and cannot get enough! - also they offer special catering menus. I was able to try it couple times and I highly recommend for your next event!

Sadly, the looks represented properly the dish. I don't know what was going on, but every element was terrible. The beef brisket was dry, the gravy didn't have flavor and was so thin that the minimal portion all seeped to the bottom of the dish. Literally 5 cheese curds in the poutine and they were not gooey. None of the dish was. It was all so dry and had no flavor. The fries weren't good either, not crispy at all and I'm thinking what the heck!?
