A funny thing happened entering MAD RED Books. The pleasant atmosphere did not include anyone who appeared Mad. Nor did I notice any red covered books. Perhaps the name is a double binary. Being that book reading can anger a reader and be therapeutic for the reader. We were greeted by a trio of intriguing writers. None were mad in any way, or red, in any way aside from their colorful personalities. A long table of stacked books prepared for the days signing event. Between the 5 five of us. Stood 3 published authors. A novelist. And one publisher. We were uncertain if they needed a signature form from us. Or whether they were offering a signing. Ironic that people who excelled in writing-reading between the lines. Seemed lost in translation across the author table. In the same sense anyone reading this review, may wonder where the sidewalk ends. A hidden fun pun. Easily noticed by the avid reader of artful writing. And for anyone who loves bookstores. Along with all the lovable little things that you might find within them. read more

I had bookmarked this bookstore a while back and finally had the opportunity to check it out on Friday morning. Standard greeting when I entered the store from staff but no other information was offered about the store, discounts, sales, events etc. They opened in July of 2025 and offer both new and used books. I entered the store and a began to look around. I didn't really see a whole lot that piqued my interest but I will definitely return from time to time to see what I can find. I did see some books wrapped and discounted but I didn't feel like taking a chance. I do love that they feature local artists and show their work so you may purchase. Some of the paintings were so unique. Clean store that smells of books which I love and a nice mixture of new, used and rare books and some books have the authors autograph. Mad Red Books is an incredibly awesome bookstore located in Henderson. You'll find them at Sansone Park Place on Eastern and Richmar, right next to Nielsen's Frozen Custard and Popped. There's ample parking. Inside is bright and inviting with good music playing a mix variety of alternative rock, pop, classic, and new wave. I love how this bookstore is so clean and nicely organized! Grand opening was on July 4, 2025. The owner Josh is welcoming, helpful, and friendly! He had the place on April 1st, it was demolished and transformed into an inviting and cozy space! They sell marvelous collections of books, art, and knitted crochets. The knitted crochets are all handmade and price varies from $20 to $50. You'll see several artwork by various local artists including Cody Z., Caleb W., Alec D., Wally H., Chasity H., Emmy K., Savannah C., and Parker G., and every piece is so colorful, vibrant, and full of life! The bookstore has an amazing wealth of knowledge. You'll discover new releases and local authors to the left side of the store. There are books from J. Lubbers' Classics, and a shelf is specially dedicated to him because he was the first person to donate to Mad Red Books. They have several non-fiction books including poetry, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery & thrillers, horror, romance, as well as for middle-grade and young adult. You'll find non-fiction books to the right of the bookstore. There's books for sports, personal growth, business, cookbooks, gardening, home repair, travel, religion, entertainment, biographies, history, social science, animals and nature, references, and foreign language. I noticed they have tarot cards too. In the back is a comfy lounge seating and a chess board game, and there's various artworks displayed, all aesthetically pleasing. They sell tote bags ($12.50) and t-shirts ($17.50). The name Mad Red is the actual initials of the owner's family members which is so cool! They offer free events like game night on the second Saturday of the month. Next game night is on December 13, 2025, and there'll be a holiday night party starting at 8pm to 10pm. The bookstore can accommodate up 60 to 80 people. Also, book signing is the last Saturday of every month, except on December, and there's usually three local authors. Service from Josh and Joe is outstanding and exceptional! They are so kind and politely answered several questions I had, and I greatly appreciate it! My sister-n-law from San Diego is a BookToker, so we brought her here! MAD RED BOOKS just opened up July 4th and is located in our neighborhood of Silverado Ranch. We were warmly welcomed by the staff at the counter. The collection at this store includes new, used, and rare books. All new books were 15% off. I picked up a used book for $6.00 (retail $16). I also found something new for my 2 year old niece called, "Snuggle Puppy" and she loved it! The bookstore also showcases local artists' work for sale! I love the wooden ornaments hanging around the shelves. At the front counter there are these little panda bees, which I can't stop thinking about, so I shall return once I finish reading my book! read more

Went with a friend during October and enjoyed checking it out. The staff was nice and the book selection was all organized. They had some mystery books wrapped up that you could take a chance on if you wanted. Lots of good deals! They have plenty of parking since it's in a strip mall parking lot. So glad we have another local bookshop! This place kept popping up on Threads and Instagram before their opening, so I made a mental note to check it out once open. Since it was no longer opening weekend, I decided to go! First, it's between my favorite ice cream spot and my favorite popcorn spot, so it just feels right. Second, it definitely isn't huge, but it is a pretty good size. Many of the shelves aren't filled yet, but to me, that felt nice because I didn't have to scan through as many books, I love bookshops but things like that kind of overwhelm me and make it hard to choose. They have a lot of nice art in there that is also for sale which is pretty cool. It looks like they support other small artists by selling their stickers (of course I got one), crochet, and drawings. We popped in around 10:45 on a Saturday morning and there were quite a few people in there! As we wandered around there was 1 book that kept drawing me back in, so of course I had to get it. At first, I wasn't sure about pricing, but it's written inside the first page or 2. Some books were signed first editions, some were rare printings, and others were just normal books. Their genres also ranged from poetry, fantasy, thriller, historical, and YA. Service was absolutely wonderful, from the people at the register to those walking around. Lovely experience. I loved it, thought it was really cute, and I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood! I look forward to supporting this little bookstore in the future! read more

Congrats on your grand opening! Made it ahead of the ribbon cutting and the turnout was amazing. People were lining up and excited to support the latest bookstore opening. It's so encouraging to see the sheer amount of people - at one point, you could hardly move inside as everyone filled the aisles and nooks and crannies. It's a family-run store with art from various family members throughout as well as the logo custom designed by a close friend. Found some goodies and can't wait to see the shelves all decked out - a solid mix of rare books, used, and new. read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood! This new bookstore has only been open for about a month, but it already feels like a cozy community spot. The sections are clearly labeled, making it easy to browse, and there's a chill lounge area in the back with couches. This area is perfect for flipping through a few pages before you buy. So excited to have a new book store locally! Checked out Mad Red Books and I must say, it's very cute and well set up. It was a lot smaller than I originally thought but you can tell the owners put a lot of love into the layout and store overall. Staff was friendly and although I didn't find anything when I visited, I will definitely check them out again in the future. Only wish is that they had a bit wider selection but I totally understand space constraints. Overall I think they're a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. First time at "Red Mad Books". Nice little book store to look for that rare book you've been trying to find. There is also some art work & a couple couches to relax while finding that right book to read. The employees were kind, welcoming & available for any questions. Since someone got my previous yelp review removed... Happened to stop by this book store with my wife before making our way to brew tea. Cute little store, but one of the employees was very rude. First off, one of the workers, I believe his name was Joe, was using foul language with children present. Under no circumstance is that okay, and it appears that he is a repeat offender based off of previous reviews. We didn't happen to purchase anything on our way out and that foul mouthed worked said "okay, bye whatever" as we were walking out the door. It looks like this employee was complained about 4 weeks ago and he's still employed here. I love supporting small businesses, but this one desn't seem like the store cares, so I wouldn't recommend coming here. It's also extremely unprofessional for a business to make light of a review and comment on it by accusing its customers of lieing. See the screenshot. Joe, I recommend you work on your customer service because it is appalling as it is lacking. read more

You can really feel the care, hard work, and love for books that went into creating this store. The opening day turnout was wild--in the best way! At one point, it seriously felt like a Black Friday crowd at Best Buy. Which was amazing to see for an independent bookstore. Despite how busy it was, the staff stayed friendly, helpful, and super open to customer feedback, suggestions, and requests. They mentioned having a large warehouse of additional inventory and were more than willing to look up specific titles or authors if something wasn't on the shelves. I'm excited to watch the inventory evolve and the shelves fill out as the store settles in. It's already a great spot, and I have no doubt it'll only get better from here. read more

Bookstores are in short supply in Las Vegas, so any new independent bookstore in Vegas is a good thing. The staff are helpful, and the place was definitely bustling with people when I was in there. It is quite small, the book selection will hopefully improve over time, and some of the shelves seemed to be organized in a non-intuitive way (ie not alphabetically), but the bookstore is off to a good start and looking forward to visiting again. read more

I was so excited to go support a local small biz in my neighborhood. Sadly, there wasn't much to see. Definitely not ready for a grand opening with most of the shelves empty and what selection they did have out was old paperbacks. Their website leads you to believe that it was going to be full of amazing books, hard to find and collectibles. Nothing even close to that. The biggest turn off was the family taking up the searing areas, using horrible foul language right next to the small section of childrens books. No one was greeting people or asking if they needed help finding any titles. Not even engaging while checking out with the one book I picked up for $7. I hated to leave without purchasing something but I doubt that I will be back. Savers has a better selection and atmosphere for book shopping. read more
