Long time over sue for this review. I had an issue with my oven door not opening properly. I had a home warranty which I placed the call and asked to have it fixed. They sent out some company that spent less than 5 mins and claimed it was broken bc of force of use. To get a second opinion I called Madera appliance. The tech came out took apart the door, looked at the hinges and discovered what the issue was. Wrote up a report for me to give to the home warranty to counter the first report. After review they still denied the claim (another fight another day). So Madera to the rescue. He came prepared with all parts needed, a towel to protect my counters and keep it clean from grease, and overall was very thorough and clean. He took his time, and fixed it perfectly with zero issues. So if you're looking for an appliance repair I highly recommend Madera Appliances. read more

Spoke to soon! Within a month the fridge was back to how it was prior. They were called back to check but then the man told us he wouldn't or couldn't take out our stand alone fridge. It was too "hard." My father in law looked it up and found a YouTube video showing how to do it. Very simple. Not sure why the man made it seem so difficult. Michael, the owner showed up on time. Very nice man. My problem was that my wine refrigerator was freezing up. He reset the control module and said that he thought that the thermostat was set too low and the compressor was running constantly. He raised it to 60 degrees and apparently the problem is solved. He did not try to sell me any expensive repairs. BTW, they repair all kinds of appliances and Air Conditioners as well. read more

Madera was assigned to our work order through fidelity home warranty to look at our washer. The tech told us it was broken (off its bearings) then apparently submitted a report to Fidelity saying it was not broken and just a noise issue supposedly caused by overloading. None of this was said at our appointment because it's untrue, and when I asked for a copy of the report neither fidelity or Madera would provide it. I see many other people have had the exact same problem - I recommend not going through madera and if you see that is who assigned by your home warranty company to immediately cancel and request another provider. read more

Mike to the rescue once again. Our ancient Subzero decided to die on us again and I called my home warranty company and demanded that they assign my ticket to Madera appliance repair. Mike came out and assessed it, he knew it was a bigger repair and that it would require pre approval from my home warranty company. He submitted for the repair and got it working again. I was happy to know that Mike's level of service is consistent visit after visit. Madera appliance repair is one of the most unreliable and irresponsible companies I have dealt with. I am a property manager and I called Madera to schedule an appointment to fix a dishwasher. I was told that someone would call me same day to schedule a service call. After that, I never heard back from them and called back 3 days later and was told that they do not work on high end dishwashers and they never called me or the home warranty company to advise us to find another vendor. I will never consider calling this company and I highly recommend that no one else works with them either. read more

He then left and reported to Fidelity that it was broken from abnormal use. This is completely ridiculous! So now I have to get a second opinion and pay for it for Fidelity to consider my claim. Doesn't this company have company trucks. He had the worst attitude with me. At first he tried to tell me there was nothing wrong with the washing machine until he finally heard the loud noise! Then he tried to say I was overloading it, WTH? Two small throw blankets is not overloading it dumb dumb. The washing machine was even set on extra small, you moron! Mike definitely knows his stuff! The icemaker in my Viking refrigerator hadn't been working for a few months. I had tried everything I could, including replacing the icemaker itself, but no luck. Mike diagnosed the problem, which turned out to be multiple problems; a bad level switch, and a popped thermal fuse. After fixing these issues, the icemaker worked like a charm. Our refrigerator quit working. We called a repairman who came and he was unable to repair it. He basically said that we would have to buy a new one. Instead, we called Madera Appliance Repair (on a Saturday no less). We spoke with Mike and he gave us hope that he could repair our refrigerator. We made an appointment and Mike actually arrived early! He was able to access the internal part of the refrigerator that the other repairman was not able to get in to. Based on the information I gave the woman coordinating the appointments, I was given an estimate of $200. I ended up needing a new ignition unit and it cost $235, so not too far off from the estimate. Thumbs up. The technician, David, was friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. He noticed the handle on my oven was loose, so without prompting, he fixed it (which meant he has to take apart the whole door!).
