Our ancient Subzero decided to die on us again and I called US Standard Appliance repair. Mike came out and assessed it and fixed it on the first try. Julia and her team were lifesavers! Or fridgesavers, to be specific. Our freezer stopped freezing one day and we were frantically calling around to different appliance repair companies to see who was available to help on short notice. I called a few other companies first but no one was able to come out the same day. Fortunately, one of the other companies I had called referred me to US Standard. (You know a company is legit if their competitors refer them to customers.) When I talked to Julia on the phone, she was friendly, helpful, and super knowledgeable. She was basically able to diagnose the issue over the phone. She sent a tech out right away and our freezer was back up and running in a matter of hours -- not days. She was always available by phone to answer questions and I didn't have to wade through a complicated phone tree to talk to a human or wait precious hours for someone to call me back. Everyone I've interacted with at US Standard was knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. And better yet, their prices are fair! A flat MINIMUM rate of $120. Really? If they're here 5 minutes and tighten a screw, they want $120?? When you call a repair company and they tell you it's $35 for the service call (even if they don't do the repair), you expect that it's going to go up from $35 certainly, but to $120?? AND, the washer was repaired but he pointed out to me that my timer dial is now loose, but still works. I asked him if he could tighten it and he said no! Really? I don't like this company and I recommend you call around before settling. I won't use these guys again. read more

I bought a condo right before the start of summer and the air conditioning was on its last breath and hadn't been used in years. The day after I closed, they sent someone to examine the old unit. The guy did everything within 3 days: examine the old unit, buy the new one, install it, and set up the whole system so all I had to do was turn on the thermostat. I called US Standard Appliance at 8a Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend. I spoke to a receptionist and she said she would call us back. I received a call back within 15 minutes and she told me a repair man was in the area and could be here in 10 minutes. We thought the problem was with the thermostat. Mike showed up and he was able to quickly determine that the problem was with the computer board. He had the parts on his truck and was able to repair the problem within 30 minutes, at a very reasonable price. He could have easily charged us a Saturday/Holiday fee, but didn't.
