Magic fix was quick to respond, was on time, professional, kept the area clean and safe (I've got little ones around and he was very patient with them when they were asking him about what he was doing), and explained everything thoroughly. Had a problem with my Dryer so I searched on Yelp for a local Dryer repair service and came across MagicFix Appliance Repair. Spoke to Atour. He was very professional, and asked me to send him my model number of my dryer and asked what the issue was I was experiencing. He then scheduled an appointment. He called 30 minutes prior to my appointment time as promised. Once he arrived, he was able to diagnose the problem. The Thermal Fuse needed to be replaced. He was very professional and efficient and fixed the problem. Short version: Literally, the best! Responsive, punctual, excellent customer service, CLEAN, honest, and affordable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE. Long version: AMAZING!!!! I don't even know where to begin! For a couple of months, my dryer was not heating up--it powered on and there was air, but there was never any hot air. After getting the okay from my landlord, I submitted my inquiry via Yelp late last night and within minutes, Magicfix Appliance Repair reached out to me! They had next day availability to come out to diagnose and repair my dryer issues. Very communicative and responsive and even made sure to find out what model my dryer was. My repairman, Atour, was the absolute best!!! Unlike most other repairmen, he actually up within the 2pm - 4pm window I was scheduled for and EVEN let me know 30 minutes ahead of time that he was on his way. When he walked in and turned on my dryer...OF COURSE it starts heating up... just my luck. However, he made sure to let it run to see what the issue is because he said there has to be a problem if I had to call him to come out...sure enough, there was. Atour took apart my dryer, had the spare parts to fix my sensor and ignitor, put my dryer back together, and even educated me on some preventative measures to prolong my dryer's life and potential issues to look out for. He discussed some long-term homeowners issues such as vent cleaning; he was more concerned with the problems it could cause if I didn't consider those services. "It doesn't have to be me, but you should eventually call someone to take care of it..." After putting my dryer back together, he even cleaned up after himself! Our sub-zero fridge was no longer cooling and we called the home warranty company for repair. They sent their s**ty vendor who was rude, dismissive, and ultimately provided a high repair cost which the home warranty didn't approve. I contacted Magicfix and Atour was professional, provided a reasonable repair estimate, and kept me in the loop until all the parts he ordered were available to schedule the repair. The repair itself took 3 days, mainly because he received a faulty compressor. But he repaired our fridge and cleaned out some of the older parts so we don't run into more issues. A small business owner (Atour) who is friendly, flexible and honest. I'm super picky about companies I call, and try to find small business owners who care about building their good reputation. Too many try to upsell you and think they're being clever about it, but have you leveraged into a vulnerable position. Not the case with Magicfix and Atour! Atour is the owner and service tech who came out and diagnosed our Samsung freezer (which stopped cooling), and got replacement parts shipped in fast. He was fast and easy to communicate with, and went above and beyond to try to help as fast as he could. This is EXACTLY what a great small business owner does. Atour rocks. Unfortunately for me, this process left me without a fridge for a weekend until a part came in -- but here's what I love -- Atour actually discovered my original part (the evaporator coil) was still functional and I did NOT need a new part -- it was actually a coil blockage. So while other repair companies would have charged for a new part anyway (he'd already ordered and pulled out the original one), Atour was very transparent and recommended that I did not need to spend the money, and he successfully cleared and recharged the original coil. It fixed the freezer! Atour also offered a nice gesture on giving a discount for having to come out multiple times to fix it. All in all, he was awesome, and exactly the kind of business I want my money to support. Don't call somebody else -- Atour is honest and transparent and can fix what you need, or will tell you if he can't! (Also just generally a super friendly and good family dude who did not try to upsell me or use sketchy sales tactics!). He also said if I have any issues in the next 30 days he'll come fix it for free. But the good news is everything is now working again! I know this seems like I'm laying it on a little heavy for a repair company, and maybe someone will think he offered me a price break for a good review. But that's not the case -- he has plenty of great reviews, and I'm not getting anything special for sharing this. I just want to support the GREAT small business owners that our area needs more of, and hope this guy continues to have success for excellent service. Can't recommend Atour and Magicfix enough.
