And when I looked online I would see pictures of the brand's stores...charming, and beautifully designed. The Nashville store is so cute and it's on a really lovely tree lined street with older classic brick houses and just a few choice shops and cafes. When you walk in the store it's cozy but very airy and there's a women's and men's section. The salesman Joel was so nice and offered me a glass of wine or water and just let me basically look at what I wanted and then brought whatever I wanted to the dressing room. They weren't pushy at all and I bought the most beautiful shirt. You'll find pieces here that you won't find in the department stores that normally carry Billy Reid. The store is just a 20 minute walk from the stores at the Gulch. When I walked over I was wearing a jacket because it had been raining but it got quite warm (the humidity). So when I went in the store, which was so nice and cool, I took off my jacket. The salesman took my jacket and nicely hung it up on a hanger.When I purchased my shirt, he beautifully folded up my jacket and put it alongside my new shirt in the bag. So nice! Fantastic service and I will come back here in a heartbeat. Yes the price is a bit high but a lot of the pieces are made in Italy, and the quality is great....you'll find pieces here that you won't find in any of the department stores that carry Billy Reid.

Besides my personal opinion, it should be duly noted that since my last review, Mr. Reid was bestowed the incredible honor of being awarded the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. For those who don't follow the Fashion industry like it's their Fantasy Football league... this is a MASSIVE deal. Some say it's practically the Oscars or ahem, Super Bowl of this very particular industry. I am proud that a Southern designer (he hails from Alabama) conquered! With current collaborations with K-Swiss and J Crew, this brand is certainly on the rise! With that being said, Billy has just 6 retail locations so it is quite fantastic that we have one in the Hill Center. I was seduced my an up to 70% off sign when I was skipping around and couldn't pass up the stellar deals. My eyes were enticed by the Classic Peacoat in a natural shade which was regularly priced at $495 but I was able to snatch it up for $150! What. A. Deal. Consider that this piece will never go out of style so event at the original price tag, there is a ton of value for the amount of wear this classic will get! Billy's collection is one that will only get better with wear and tear. My love affair didn't just stop there. I couldn't help but notice a mighty fine pair of high waisted and wide bottomed black trousers referred to as the Heirloom ($265). Pants are always a tougher purchase for me especially due to my short inseam but with the assistance of a staffer who pinned my new pants and a $12 alteration fee (inexpensive), I am now the owner of a gorgeous pair of trousers that make me feel like a million bucks. Lastly, the staff were just a delight from the moment that I originally came in over the weekend to browse when they offered to put the peacoat on hold until I could make a choice on what color I preferred to the nice lad who was literally on the floor pinning my pants for alteration today. TIP: If you love Levis, Billy Reid will start carrying certain styles of this other classic at this location in just a couple of weeks!

The cashier who checked me out was extra kind by complimenting the shirt I bought. I was in town for a work event and realized I under packed. I needed a shirt for a work dinner and this was right next to my hotel. I was so happy I could walk over. I also love checking out thrift shops in different cities because each city has their own fashion. Their shoe selection here was incredible. That's where they shined for sure. A lot of the items I loved were a bit too big, but so it goes with thrifting. I loved that you're able to try on about 10 items in the fitting room (I pick up a lot when thrifting). And I was able to find a shirt for that evening. Do know that the pricing on a lot of items are closer to "new clothes" pricing like $20-30. I luckily found a shirt on sale for $15. A lot of the options were a bit outdated for my taste, but overall I had a great experience and found what I was looking for.

It feels worn and comfy from the second you wear the brand. Free people is for people that have more money than sense, if we're honestly reviewing here. I didn't find anything that I couldn't live without at the overpriced Free People store. I am fortunate that I have a daughter in retail, and can buy the brand at Dilliard's on clearance. Sorry Free People, your material wasn't so amazing that I'd be willing to pay full price off the rack at Green Hills. I'm sure it won't hurt your business a bit, although, my daughter and I were your only customers at the time we were there.

This location is essentially your standard TJ Maxx location, albeit a bit more condensed in size. Even with the smaller space, they still try to cram as much in as possible, in true TJM style! I usually get lost in a TJM for a while, and this location is no exception. I get sucked in to each aisle, fumbling through the odd items, shiny things and in some cases, must have kitchen goods. Unlike many other TJM, this store seemed a bit more organized and less chaotic. The shelves were packed with goods, but it wasn't messy. The staff is seen wandering the aisles, so I imagine they are constantly moving and organizing as they go. So, good on them and good for us. With that, service was okay. The associates in the aisle were making rounds for the goods, not so much for customer interaction. Overall, solid TJ Maxx location worth stopping by when at Opry Mills.
