Yes - I have a fondness for small boutique inns. Intimate, where you get to know the staff pretty well! The staff has always been friendly and very very helpful because they are locals that work there. The place is hands down cleanest establishment I have ever stayed, and worked at. Yes... I used to work there 3 years ago. I have made long standing friends with the staff and the visitors to the island. Oh yes did I mention - ON Martha's Vineyard. 24 he coffee/tea/snacks/ice cream/microwave. In town location so sometimes it CAN be noisy! Coffee shop next door, islands favorite pizza down one end and on the other end are a few really tasty, busy restaurants and.... Donuts served at night! They have board games, towels, beach chairs and umbrellas and sand toys for the kids!! ALL AROUND GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!!!

Sorry took pic on the way out of the room. #12.

Super clean, front desk host was friendly and it is perfectly located in Oak Bluff for a night out, late walk or whatever you do. We would stay here again for sure. Great day/night on the Vineyard.

This was my first "solo" vacay, and From the moment I walked into The Madison Inn, (after an unreasonably short walk from the harbor), I am greeted with the cheery voice of Heather. Heather is one of those rare people who you feel right at home with from the moment you meet and it only crescendoed from there. And then there was Mary, who was always willing and eager to hear my exploits of the day. We spent so much time talking and laughing right off the bat, that I almost forgot I was in an establishment and not someone's living room! I stayed in room 2, which was small, very clean, neat and tastefully decorated and just perfect for me. The bed was sooooo comfy I slept like a baby, and even with the rooms being so close to each other, I was not disturbed by anyone else's visit. Being off season several of the restaurants and shops were closed, but I was able to visit East Chop Lighthouse, The Gingerbread cottages and tabernacle and get my groove on at The Ritz with the music of the Edbury Allstars. I ate well at Linda Jeans and totally loved the entire experience. Finally, on the day of departure, there was a mixup about where we would need to catch the ferry for the return to the mainland. I need not have worried because the OB harbor master Ms. Bridgette made sure we made it to Vineyard Haven Harbor on time!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Madison Inn. Great location right in the heart of town, one block near the ferry, shops, the cottage village, great restaurants and the scenic ocean walkway. The inn provides breakfast each morning and complimentary coffee, tea and snacks all day (cookies, ice cream and popsicles). The rooms were all newly renovated, very clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating too. I would definitely come back!

Very late review as I stayed here back in 2015... My sister…read moreand I wanted to celebrate our anniversary (July 16 and July 17) and decided to comeback to MV after being away for a number of years. I asked my sister to look for a place for the four of us and she picked the Beachfront Inn. I was a little skeptical because our travel tastes are different. I like luxury and she is more economy. That being said all four of us LOVED our stay. I believe the innkeeper was Stan and he was a delight. My husband and I stayed in the biggest room with the en-suite and we did not need to concern ourselves with the lack of AC because the ocean breeze was amazing. I loved the location, we were on the beach and could walk from the ferry and to Circuit Avenue. The innkeeper makes the difference at any bed&breakfast and Stan made us feel like we were literally at home. We enjoyed our stay so much when we looked to book a place for guests to stay for our 25th anniversary, he was our first call. I saw the negative reviews and couldn't hold back my review so that's why I'm writing after all these years. As a matter of fact I am writing this while sitting on the beach in front of the Beachfront Inn and telling my friends what a nice place it is. So I am not sure about the negative reviews but that was certainly not the experience of four people from NYC. Hopefully, you'll give them a try.

PROS: -Fantastic location. You're literally across the…read morestreet from the beach and a five-seven minute walk from Circuit Avenue. Can't beat that. -Rooms are not overly kitchy. I do not like lots of flowers and lace so this was nice for me. I stayed in the Apricot room, and it was clean, light, and airy, with minimal lace. (It was kind of pinkish, but then again, it was the apricot room.) -Ceilings are high and while the smaller rooms are small, they're not cramped, and the high ceilings kind of make you feel like you're in a treehouse. I loved that feeling. -There is wifi. -The owners and everyone staffing the B&B were very nice, warm, and welcoming. I have stayed at some B&Bs were it was just kind of awkward, and this one was not like that. They were genuinely pleasant. -They make it clear on the website that the rooms don't have AC, but do have fans. Honestly, we barely needed the fans-- the house stays fairly cool, and so did our room, even though we were on the second floor. -My parents were there at the same time we were, and their room had a little balcony overlooking the beach, which was awesome. -The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. Definitely as good as top of the line hotels that I have stayed in. And a ton better than many budget hotels. It also happens to be better than my own bed, although that may just say more about my own place. CONS: -It's an old house. Floors creak, walls are thin, etc. If you're the kind of person who avoids rooms near the elevator in a standard hotel, beware. You will hear people walking around periodically. It didn't bother me, but I thought it was worth mentioning. -I would describe the style of the house (not the rooms) as older. Not kitchy in the way that someone deliberately tried to make things overly floral, but in the way that it's full of older pieces and antiques from someone's life. Not my style, but I made good use of the rocking chairs on the front porch and was quite content that way. -Breakfast is not full style breakfast, but continental (toast, jam, tea, etc). Again, this is something that's clear on the website, but if you're looking for the traditional hot breakfast of many B&Bs, this is not your place.
