Loved this place! I had to come write a review! An adorable, cozy, comfortable welcoming hotel and the woman at check in made me feel at home! The website photos don't give it justice to the look and feel when you arrive there! Love the front porch rocking chairs, I could sit out there for hours!

This pic makes it look SO much better than it was.....

This would not be my first choice of lodgings.... The old cliche rings true- you get what you pay for!!!! My sis and I stayed at the Pequot Hotel over this past Labor Day weekend and chose this hotel due to it's location. Aside from the front porch & it's local, that's ALL this establishment has going for it. Our room sported two little twin beds that barely fit our suitcases or anything else, for that matter. The bathroom (aside from it being a mess) might have been a cell block...not to mention the shower curtain fell down anytime one of use took a shower. The floors/carpets were a mess. One morning we found a cockroach in the bathroom and it remained there for at least a day..... HAD to test whether or not housekeeping would do anything. Our theory proved us right. We disgarded the creepy little thing after we couldn't stand looking at in any longer. Most of the staff were friendly but we did have a couple of people who shouldn't be in the service industry. Regardless of our lodgings, we have a fabulous trip! If you are going to stay at the Pequot, plan wisely and limit your time at the hotel as much as possible. We never took them up on breakfast or afternoon cookies because our mission was to roam the island and escape from our dorm room.

We enjoyed out visit to the Vineyard and found Pequot to be a great spot. It's tucked away on a quiet street one block from the beach and about six blocks from the downtown area. The people at Pequot are amazing. All were friendly and willing to offer many suggestions and directions. If visiting the Vineyard again, I would stay at Pequot. Pros: quiet area, close to beach, walk to town, walk to bus, walk to marina, near Gingerbread houses, cozy, serves decent breakfast spread, refreshments throughout day (coffee, tea, lemonade, cookies), great people, outdoor patios/deck, outdoor shower, TV, mini refrigerator, complimentary bottled water, and full toiletry basket. Cons: Thin walls and small room.

We arrived in Oak Bluffs at the beginning of a wildly wet week, and were so pleased to step into the warm environment of the Pequot Hotel. The hotel is just under a half-mile from the Steamship Authority ferry or bus stop, which is perfectly walkable, but if it's raining AND windy, be smarter than us and get a cab because the walk along Ocean St is brutal with the sea gusts. The hotel/BnB is located in a mostly residential area in the midst of a series of summer homes with wraparound porches. It's mostly quiet, though our first night was on the warm side so we could hear a house across the street party it up on their porch through the early night. We stayed on the top floor of the annex, which is across an open patio from the main building. The room was super quaint and cozy - the size was between small/medium (about 12x15?), but a soaring A-frame ceiling helped it feel bigger. The mattresses felt firm and comfortable, there was an A/C window unit and ceiling fan, a small open clothes rod, and a small bathroom with complete toiletries and a hair dryer (note that the shower - no tub - is pretty small, and tall dudes, watch your head on the shower rod!). As management notes, there are no TVs in the annex, which we had no issue with since we wanted to get out and about. Plus, there was a strong and steady wifi signal so we could always stream shows off our laptops if needed. We could only hear our neighbors a few times, and wore ear plugs at night only to avoid the sound of the whipping flag pole during the windy night. A continental breakfast was included (muffins, scones, quiche, bagels, oatmeal, cereal, granola, yogurt, etc) and served from a small dining room in the main building. The main inside lobby always had friendly guests, and in the afternoon had hot cider, cookies, and gingerbread. Board games were also available, but we didn't make use of that. The porch and outside seating areas also looked great -- perhaps on a drier, sunnier future trip! Staff were always pleasant, proactively attentive, and friendly; and you can tell they took pride in making the Pequot a home away from home for guests! The hotel is also about a 5-10 minute walk to most of the downtown village area restaurants, bars, and shops. For the location, price, service, and extra touches, we were happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Stayed here for a night. Very impressed by the attention to details from the organic and paper packaged toiletry to providing gluten free breakfast option. Located in the residential part of town with short walking distance to the town. The staffs are extremely friendly and they are clearly proud of their job and want to provide the best experience for visitors. When we arrived, the reception area greeted us with coffee, tea and chocolate chip cookies. Two thumps up!

Breakfast nook- the steel cut oats are fantastic

There were so many adorable details, I wish I had taken more photos. Inside, there's tea available all day, and free breakfast in the mornings. The spa is embedded right in the hotel, and when you're a guest using the amenities is seamless. You can easily get into an exercise class, like Zumba or yoga, or use the pool and the saunas- there's one with hot dry heat and another with steam. When you get up to your hotel room it feels more like you're in some kind of time capsule. They have kind of an exhibit of historical objects from the area. Then the room is kind of effortlessly elegant, in that unique New England-y way- just nice furniture, great materials in the bed sheets and whatnot, and some spiffy flair- like a luxurious tub with a huge tabletop for putting bubble bath, salts, spa essentials, maybe a bottle of wine?, and an outdoor terrace for having a light breakfast in the morning (put some fruit in your mini fridge, from the morning or from a market nearby). Five out of five experience.

We appreciated the thoughtful details around the room like the warm towel racks, the homemade oatmeal and coconut cookies, the bottle of wine that was left in the fridge (which we most certainly drank!). The property itself was well manicured and beautiful, and the homemade breakfast was to die for. We were given great suggestions for things to do as well which we took advantage of on our last day and we're so glad we did. On our last morning we let them know we were leaving early for the airport and they dropped off homemade strawberry scones which were the perfect on the go breakfast for our ferry ride back to Woods Hole. If you're looking to experience a clean and inviting place with 5 star hospitality, Charles and Charles is a must!

They were very nice to bend their 3 day reservation rule and allowed us to stay for two days. We paid ~ $250/night including tax. Location is good, about a 5 minute walk from the dock along main street. However, I did see some B+B's with better locations once I arrived to the island. I guess this is why you have to be 'in the know'. We stayed in the Americana Room with a private bathroom. Bathroom door opens to the hall way and the lock did not work making us a bit nervous every time we had to use the bathroom. The room had one queen size bed and a side bed. The side bed was too lumpy and uncomfortable. Breakfast is included but meh.. it's just cereal or stale bread/bagel and a few pieces of fruit. Coffee and yogurt is also on the table but they are both the weak and flavorless kind. The cleaning staff was very nice but kinda pushy with the tip. Deliberately leaving two envelopes for tip in visible areas. All in all, it was ok because I got to experience a 'traditional american B+B' but I wouldn't go here again unless I'm in a pinch.
