Evening drink on the patio at Oak Bluffs Inn. Perfect.

I'm not one that usually likes B&B's, but this place is amazing. My husband and I stayed here two nights last summer---conveniently, when the Obama's were in town. Erik, the owner, greeted us right away and helped us with our bags to our room. Our room was cozy and charming. I especially liked how a white noise machine was provided, too. I probably slept the best than I had all week when we stayed here. Not only is breakfast provided each morning, but there is a Keurig machine complete with a variety of k-cups in the entryway for guests to use at their leisure. There was also wine and a variety of other alcohol that Erik provided for guests. My husband and I liked to sit on the porch with a drink both nights and watch the people go by. I guess the Obama's were having dinner right across the street from the B&B. Although we didn't see President Obama, we did see his two daughters, which was pretty cool. While this place was a little expensive when we went in August last year, it was worth every penny. If we come back to Martha's Vineyard, we will definitely stay here again!

Charming inn--though expensive in mid August. But they had two rooms for our spur of the moment visit and we enjoyed. Eric and his wife are extremely helpful. Cool vibe. Inn has been groomed in a lovely way. Nice breakfast. Great porch. Eric goes out of his way from morning to evening to assist you or give tips. Fantastic location...at the quiet end of Circuit but minutes to the action!

This place scores a solid A- very clean, nice decor. Air conditioned. Excellent location within walking distance of all things in Oak bluffs. Linens were comfortable and high quality. The vibe is very laid back rather than stuffy in-your-face forced conversation (something I loathe in the B and B option). Eric (owner) is incredibly knowledgable about the island. He put together a last day itinerary that covered beautiful secluded beaches, vista views and incredible inexpensive fresh seafood. Only con is small bathroom but with a Victorian cottage I figure we were lucky to have our own bathroom at all anyway.

The deck and yard are a great place to relax and enjoy the gardens and birds, or eat a yummy breakfast made right in the kitchen. This was my first time on the Vineyard and I'm so happy I stared here for it, Kathleen and Frank helped us find the best places to eat and see the sights. Our family will return for sure!

They are spot on. We initially booked 3 nights and thankfully our room was open for another so we added a 4th. We stayed in the Millie - on the 2nd floor of the main house - queen bed and an oversized bathroom with twin sinks and lovely tiled bench shower. Kathleen and Frank are amazing hosts - you'll instantly take to them as they are so cordial and easy to get along with. Both know the island so well and can offer many recommendations for recreation and dining. Kathleen has a number of relationships with island businesses and she uses them to your advantage. If you want to rent a car, Kathleen calls and negotiates the best possible rate for you and then arranges for the car to be delivered. Breakfast is always a treat with a daily hot entree such as Portuguese sweetbread french toast, Frittata, or eggs benny. Make sure she makes her ebelskivers - a Danish, filled mini-pancake. Deelish!! The Kottage is small - 3 rooms total - so book early ... and often!

The Inkwell Beach House is a lovely place for a weekend getaway…read more This was my first time to the Island and I knew I wanted to stay at a Black owned property if possible. My expectations were certainly exceeded. Colleen (I think she is the House Manager) was absolutely amazing. She makes you feel at home. She was there to welcome me and offer suggestions on restaurants and activities in the area as well as surrounding towns. The Owner of the Property ( who owns Narragansett House, Dunmere by the Sea, and the artistic boutique Jubilee MV on Circuit Ave) was very welcoming also. She was kind enough to open her private home so we could watch the Knicks win the Championship. Talk about community. The other staff was so sweet and helpful. They prepared a delicious breakfast for us daily. The porch was certainly the highlight for me where guests could gather and interact with one another. The view to the ocean and the location to Circuit is unbeatable. This is a historic 12 room home. If you are looking for modern, updated amenities, this isn't the place for you. If you want feel connected to the cottage life then this is for you. If you are looking for community but still able to have some solo time- this is for you. I highly recommend checking out the African American Heritage tour, the free bus rides around to other towns, and the taking advantage of riding the bikes. The property has beach towels and yoga mats also (Yoga and the Polar Plunge are activities you can inquire about also). I felt safe and cared for and I know this isn't my last time to Martha's Vineyard.

I highly recommend it.
