Can't go wrong here, right in the heart of town on the main drag in Oak Bluffs! Charming rooms & house, nice owner, very delicious breakfast! Certainly if you want to be right in the middle of the action in a very nice well-kept bed-and-breakfast with delicious food, I don't think you could beat the spot! The owner and the breakfast was really first class, and very delicious! The inside and outside. Seating areas are spectacular and really nice way to spend lazy afternoons. It's on the main drag so people will walk by. A fun place to be. Across the street is the sweet life restaurant, nice place to eat. We stayed in one of the carriage house rooms on the bottom floor, there are two bedrooms, which are very similar. One has a queen bed and the other has two double beds. Our friends stayed next-door. The room was good, I probably was expecting it to be a little bit more polished. The appointments were really nice, everything worked fine. But a few minor things like the bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, one of the sinks wasn't working just right. Not sure exactly how to put a finger on it, but felt a little underwhelmed when entering the room. However, in saying that, I slept like a baby every night in the perfect bed and mattress. The room did the job in terms of comfort, and a nice shower, and Right next to the main house, I would recommend staying here. Definitely recommend it if you're looking to stay in Oak Bluffs, and want to be right in the middle of the action! read more

So our schedule cleared and we got to the island a day ahead of when our house was available. We knew it wasn't high, high season so we ferried over and walked to where we thought we'd stay. It was a no-go because of the vibe and so we were off to scout the second spot. Maybe in a normal day, we wouldn't be in the mood to wander but as it was, it was the space we were in. As we were getting ready to cross the street, I noticed the porch of Oaks Bluff Inn and we thought, hmmmm is this our spot? We came in and called the number and connected with the owner. We are checked in, have walked the town, gotten back in time for cookies & lemonade, and now getting ready for dinner out. We are going to buy a lotto ticket because we feel really happy and lucky to have found Oak Bluffs Inn and Erik. Stayed for 3 nights and this Inn is wonderful! A short easy walk from the ferry dock. Great location for walking all over Oak Bluffs. Eric is a super host and offered amazing custom breakfasts each morning (eggs, pancakes, waffles, any kind of bread, yogurt, coffee, teas, etc.). Snacks were available all day every day. Room was small but comfortable and quiet (there is a sound machine in each room). Huge front porch was nice for relaxing after a day of seeing the sights of Martha's Vineyard. This place is delightful... the true essence of what the bed and breakfast experience should be. Eriq and Rhonda are super nice people and wonderful hosts who's love of the Vineyard is clear. They were very accommodating through our stay, even coming to get us from the ferry at our arrival. Eriq knows a ton about Oak Bluffs and the Vineyard and can offer great advice about places to go and things to see. The inn itself is lovely, well maintained, clean and quaint. It's perfectly located in town. The porch is great for sitting out at night. Breakfast each morning provided a great start to the day. Our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I'm not one that usually likes B&B's, but this place is amazing. My husband and I stayed here two nights last summer---conveniently, when the Obama's were in town. Erik, the owner, greeted us right away and helped us with our bags to our room. Our room was cozy and charming. I especially liked how a white noise machine was provided, too. I probably slept the best than I had all week when we stayed here. Not only is breakfast provided each morning, but there is a Keurig machine complete with a variety of k-cups in the entryway for guests to use at their leisure. There was also wine and a variety of other alcohol that Erik provided for guests. My husband and I liked to sit on the porch with a drink both nights and watch the people go by. I guess the Obama's were having dinner right across the street from the B&B. Although we didn't see President Obama, we did see his two daughters, which was pretty cool. While this place was a little expensive when we went in August last year, it was worth every penny. If we come back to Martha's Vineyard, we will definitely stay here again! read more

We spent two days here and loved it! The location was perfect (close to shops, the beach, and public transportation). Our room was cozy, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Snacks, coffee and water were always available throughout the day. Cookies and lemonade were served at 4:00. Breakfast was served every day between 8:00 am - 10:00 am (the waffles were delicious). We stayed here for two nights in September 2020. Our room (#2) was small and barely functional, certainly not ergonomic. But there was something cute and charming about it, especially the bathroom with a unique corner toilet and doll-house sink sized for an 8-year old. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot with good water pressure, but it could have used a hand-held shower head. There was a small desk for using our laptop and wi-fi, but a big person can barely have room because you can only move the chair back so much with the bed in the way. The room has no tv. I asked Eric, the owner, if any of the rooms have tv and he said no. Eric is a nice guy, courteous and considerate, but I kind of felt like we both looked at each other as if the other guy were crazy. From the late 90's on, my family did a lot of road trips and stayed at many hotels and motels. Only on Martha's Vineyard have we found hotels with no tv and it's not like Martha's Vineyard has a fantastic nightlife. At over $250 with tax, this is one of the more expensive places we've stayed, and I would expect them to have most of the basic comforts of home. A $50 truck stop motel has a tv. The breakfast was also disappointing, apparently due to Covid. There were bagels, yogurt, juice, coffee and hard boiled eggs. Not what you'd expect from a bed and breakfast style hotel. We had a bagel the first morning and then went to Linda Jeans thereafter. If Linda Jeans can still serve a great breakfast, I don't know why the Oak Bluffs Inn can't. On a plus note, the location is great... right at the end of the main strip just a short walk from all the tourist shops, terrific dining, the gingerbread cottages and the beach and waterfront. It was nice to relax on the porch and enjoy a beer or a wine cooler. read more

This place scores a solid A- very clean, nice decor. Air conditioned. Excellent location within walking distance of all things in Oak bluffs. Linens were comfortable and high quality. The vibe is very laid back rather than stuffy in-your-face forced conversation (something I loathe in the B and B option). Eric (owner) is incredibly knowledgable about the island. He put together a last day itinerary that covered beautiful secluded beaches, vista views and incredible inexpensive fresh seafood. Only con is small bathroom but with a Victorian cottage I figure we were lucky to have our own bathroom at all anyway. read more

What a gem. We took a spontaneous trip to OB, figured on staying a night and riding bikes to Edgartown for the next eve. After hanging out at the Inn for a few hours chatting with Erik the proprietor, relaxing in the beautiful common areas, and enjoying being within stumbling distance of our favorite spots and restaurants, we opted to extend our stay. The location can't be more convenient to the Ferry, waterfront and downtown activities. Rooms are quaint and immaculately cleaned, and the common areas well stocked with high quality tea, coffee, snacks, sherry, port and fruit. Continental breakfast is made special with Erik's berry crumble. We'll be coming to the Inn again soon. read more

I don't usually go for B&Bs as they are typically small little places w/chintz and thin walls. However, this is not a typical B&B. I have to say my friend and I enjoyed staying in #7 in the carriage house - that made it feel less like you were living with others and hearing everyone's coming and going. Our room was appointed with everything we needed. iPod docking station, sound machine for any street noise (I have the same one at home that I love), Aveda products, 2 comfortable twin beds, 2 good chests of drawers, lots of hangers and air conditioning - also 2 luggage stands which is brilliant when you know there will be 2 people staying in a room! The bathroom was a good size, clean and great shower head, but we did suggest putting up some hooks in the bathroom. Breakfast was great - I really appreciated the hosts not trying to get by on subpar food and calling it breakfast - breakfast was not a cold Danish and Lipton tea. The selection was good healthy cereals, bagels, fresh fruit, soy milk (my friend loved that!), hard boiled eggs, juice and excellent tea and coffee - in my opinion, Mighty Leaf tea is top of the line tea and so nice that they offered it. Erik, the Innkeeper, also made a daily fruit something - bread pudding or crumble that was always delicious! We also loved the fresh cookies and refreshing mint lemonade in the afternoon. The inn also has beach chairs, beach towels, bikes (bummer we never used them) and guest refrigerator where we could put our wine and cheese. The front porch is a really lovely place to sit any time of day watching the world go by. There is even an iPod jack that you can plug your iPod into to listen to music while rocking on the porch. What really made the stay special were Erik and Rhonda who were excellent hosts! We interacted w/Erik for most everything and he was fantastic! Laid back, but always so helpful to not only us, but friends of ours who were staying somewhere else. He made great suggestions for restaurants, helped us get rental car, has a Google map that shows all the things to see in Oak Bluffs and marked on map of island, the top places to visit. We spent one evening just sitting on the porch talking to Erik and Rhonda and shared some wine and pizza, like old friends. It was a great nite! Oak Bluffs is definitely the place to go, centrally located, well appointed with the guests needs at top of mind - would definitely go back! read more

This place was incredible! This was my first time to the Vineyard and it really was "as good as it gets"... Erik and Rhonda, the Inn owners, were more like family than anything! They were both so friendly and knowledgeable about the Island. It's perfectly located on Circuit Ave, a Main drag through Oak Bluffs. You are right across the street from The Sweet Life restaurant and within walking distance of the beach (and pretty much anything else you could possibly want to do in Oak Bluffs). Each morning we were greeted by a delicious breakfast, each afternoon brought the smell of freshly baked cookies and sweet basil lemonade, and each evening we were welcome to a sip of port or sherry to unwind from the day's activities (even if the day's activities simply included rocking and snoozing on the front porch). The wraparound porch has several wicker rocking chairs, perfect for reading, napping, or people watching (I did all three). Fresh fruit and snacks are available all throughout the day for noshing and clean beach towels and beach chairs are available to take with you to the beach, just a couple of blocks away. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and housekeeping came everyday (which we weren't sure if we should expect so we were pleasantly surprised). The linens were plush, the pillows fluffy and the amenities were wonderful too! I can't say enough nice things about this place. We're already thinking about booking for next year! Room #10 is the best!!! read more

The Oak Bluffs Inn (OBI) was a wonderful place to stay during my first visit to Martha's Vineyard. With a clean, cozy room and a private bath, and homemade banana bread each morning I felt at home. Sitting on the porch for breakfast or an evening cocktail and simply watching people along Circuit Avenue was a treat in itself. Within walking distance of so many things that were Oak Bluffs, including Flying Horses, OBI made me want to bring my Mom here. Eric (the owner), clearly knows the Vineyard and did a great job making me and my boyfriend feel welcome, occasionally offering tips on how to make the most of our 4th of July weekend. as yelp says "Yay! Im a fan!" This is a great little place! My two rules for places are they have to be clean and they have to be close to the attractions. The room was clean and roomy (no TV though, be prepared...we kind of cheated cause we had slingbox..hahah!) So rule one clean! and Rule 2 close to things, super close to the ferry, the gingerbread houses and the bus stop for going elsewhere in MV. As the other review states, Erik is laid back, but that was great for us, cause we already had everything planned, he was very nice and welcoming! Very helpful at getting us a cab to the airport at 6AM! The place has the WONDERFUL wrap around porch, the perfect place to drink a bottle of wine (glasses and opener provided by the Inn), and just watch all the traffic and people go by, as well as watch all of the people take pics of the inn...hahah...cause its just sooo cute, and so perfectly MV! The inn had tons of beach stuff to use, unfortunately we were kind of there in the off season, so we didnt use it, but it was nice to know it was there. reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 star would be nice to have a book of the near by restaurant menus for those people that dont plan super in advance, or didnt realize that some of the things that they have planned are close for the season! Maybe also could have a little more info on the things to do in the area. given these two little things I would totally stay here again! We booked this Inn as a last minute extra night in Oak Bluffs - so glad we did! I can not say enough how lovely and cozy it was there. The Inn was nicely decorated without being formal. The lovely little garden area that they had was a little oasis away from the main street, coffee was just lovely sitting in the setting. The Innkeeper Erik and Rhonda were lovely; helpful and friendly. All the guests were invited to join them for a beach front fire at sunset which we did and was so worth it. What a lovely location they brought us to, simply amazing. My husband and I only wished we spent our entire long weekend at this Inn. read more

This place will work for you if you like the atmosphere created by Erik the owner. He is a surfer, skate-board type dude and if you like hanging out with such you will ove this place. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful and welcoming Inn. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Oak Bluffs Inn for a week this summer and loved every minute of it. The location is excellent - right in the middle of town -- with nearby restaurants, bars, shops and other entertainment. Every night, we would stroll down the main street and then take a long walk along the beach. What really made our visit was the excellent hospitality by the Inn's owners: Erik and Rhona. They are organized, kind, energetic and professional. They keep Oak Bluffs Inn clean and welcoming for all of their guests. The Inn has so much to offer! The living room is filled with books and magazines of all sorts that you can borrow. The porch is the perfect place to read a book or people-watch and enjoy the lemonade that Erik makes fresh every day. The sun room offers snacks such as popcorn and nuts and cold, filtered water. Every morning, Erik makes a delicious breakfast -- fresh pastries, fruit salad, coffee cake. There is also cereal and fruit plus coffee and tea available all day. In the afternoon, he bakes mouthwatering chocolate chip or white chocolate chip cookies and makes fresh lemonade. I found myself planning my day around when he was going to make the afternoon snack. They also provide guests with clean beach towels. If you're lucky, Erik might even join you for a drink out on the porch and tell you about Martha's Vineyards history. Erik and Rhonda also gave us excellent recommendations for things to do around town and restaurants to eat at. He recommended places to ride bikes, sail, and a place to have a romantic dinner. All were excellent. We were sad when the time came to leave, as it felt like we were leaving home. We're looking forward to the next time we return and can stay at Oak Bluffs Inn. Unexpectedly had a chance to stop over for one night in Oak Bluffs, MV - and "discovered" this remarkable place. The eponymous Oak Bluffs Inn is everything you want in a local B&B in a charming village: eclectically & beautifully decorated, full of personal touches (cookies & tea in the afternoon, coffee & water available at all times, perfect New England bedrooms w/poster beds and crannies for reading a book), large yet homey public rooms: a cozy den, a spacious living room and a charming dining room... and the ever-present, welcoming, super-competent host in Eric (who has owned the place for decades. Very reasonable rates for the 9 standard and if you want to splurge a bit, we can particularly recommend the 1 or 2-bedroom suite on the top floor --- a home away from home (Room 10).
