Everything about this place is amazing from the room we stayed in, the entire Inn, the location and of course the Inn keeper Pete!

Due to some issues at another place, we had previously booked, we were able to find this Inn online during the 1st week of June and booked it. The Ashley Inn is centrally located; 1/2 mile from the Stop and Shop and close to town. Upon arrival, we were given a choice between two rooms and selected the one on the 2ndfloor near the fire exit which included a fireplace, sofa, and mini fridge. Fred was an excellent host. List was provided with many excellent restaurants. Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast of fruit, coffee/tea, and muffins was available. Free parking is available behind the Inn. There is also a parlor with nice library and calm music that plays. Would definitely recommend this B&B. read more

Delightful B&B steps from downtown Edgartown. And a B&B that actually offers breakfast? Feels like a dying breed... Check in was a snap, and our modest but perfectly comfortable suite was ready for our 3p arrival. A spacious main room featured books, magazines, attraction guides, loads of seating and freshly baked (I mean, still warm) oatmeal raisin cookies. Get in my face. Parking on a peastone lot is situated directly behind the main house. Four lefts from the front driveway and you're there. Mattress slept us beautifully, and having ice cold A/C blowing on our feet (room 6 exclusive? IDK) was a totally welcome bonus during a 98º summer day. And the breakfast! Quintessential B&B setup: gold rimmed china, a coffee station with excellent teas and piping hot local roast, fresh squeezed juices. I had a savory and spiced granola with seasonal berries over yogurt and the wife went Belgian waffle with strawberries. Clean plate clubs, the two of us. (We even saved room for a tiny bite of lemon poppy muffin, blueberry scone and cinnamon coffee cake, also avail.) Location, immaculate management, and ultimate coziness with nary a wisp of stuffiness give Ashley my highest recommendation. read more

Stayed here during the off season and couldn't have been more happy. Rented the house that is part of the in off to the side with girlfriends. I hear that breakfast is served during the busy season. But we missed that. Rooms: rooms are clean, cute, and well maintained, bathrooms were also nice. Did have soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. Also had nice towels and robes available. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it frequently during our visit. Location: Easy walk to the harbor, shops, and restaurants Staff: owner was super nice and very helpful. Gave us tons of information about the island and provided maps. Would definitely stay here again and look forward to coming back soon. read more

Before staying here, I had never been to a bed and breakfast before. They did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. There were four very different choices every morning, plus fresh fruit and pastry. We purchased the "Romance Package". My only complaint with that package is that the champagne they gave us was less than half the size of a regular bottle. It was only enough for one glass each. We were definitely disapointed. The staff was extrememly knowledgable about what to do around town, and were very helpful to us when we were trying to plan our day. They even lent us a beach umbrella that nobody was using that day. I would definitely go back, but not during peak season. I don't think it is worth the mark-up in July. read more

Very relaxing place to stay right outside town. Just a three to five minute walk to most restaurants. Fred is so hospital and helpful.

Had a wonderful stay here recently while in Edgartown for a friend's wedding. The decor is charming, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and the excellent coffee and homemade breakfasts they serve each morning were one of the highlights of the entire trip. Not to mention the delicious fresh-baked cookies and lemonade they put out each afternoon. We'll definitely be staying there again next time we're on MV! read more

We were treated very well and our stay at this gorgeous "home and breakfast" was memorable. We went during the peak season, so it wasn't cheap, but we got more than we paid for. Clean rooms, strong air conditioning, wifi, cable TV, yummy breakfast, and that nice strong coffee. It's a beautiful place to stay, with tasteful furnishings that make for instagramming. There were some minor fixes which might help, but overall, I'm looking forward to returning if possible. read more

Martha's Vineyard is serious business. You've either been coming here for YEEEEARS and have endless family memories, or it's your first time and you're not sure what to expect. My husband and I were the latter. We are avid, discriminating travelers and never really had the Vineyard on the list. Seemed like it would be all tourists, t shirt shops, groups eating ice cream and roads that just went around in circles. On a whim, I found Ashley Inn on a booking site and decided to give it a chance. Boy, am I glad we did. Fred and his bed and breakfast FAR exceeded our expectations. Not only is it in the perfect location -- you can walk to town (and walk off your big dinner) or get out of town easily in your car -- but it is a perfect experience. The rooms and the guest house are beautifully appointed, the rates are reasonable, the proprietor is gracious and friendly, the energy is cozy and relaxed...what more can I say? I think you would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in the most beautiful part of the island. And by the way, make sure you take the ferry to visit Chappaquiddick. It's right around the bend and it's a memorable, short excursion. Don't miss it or The Ashley Inn. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Marths Vineyard and stayed at the Ashley Inn. This was our first B&B so we weren't too sure what to expect. The home has ten bedrooms and is BEAUTIFUL! Our room was a great size with our own bathroom. Everything was very clean. They provide towels, shampoo/condition, and a blow dryer. The standard necessities a hotel has; Even glasses and a ice bucket for drinks. Breakfast is from 8:30-10:00. There is a menu to pick from and the french toast was EXCELLENT. There are small individual tables to eat at instead of one big table which I liked since you aren't sitting at a large table with random people. They offer lemonade and cookies during the afternoon which I thought was a cute touch. Fred was a great host. He is very knowledgeable about the prime places to check out on the island. My boyfriend and I are a young couple and Fred recommended cool bars and restaurants where we could bar hop at night. We loved the Sand Bar and the Loft in Oak Bluffs. Overall, our first time staying at a B&B was amazing and I would absolutely stay here again. It was more than what I anticipated. read more

I stayed at Ashley Inn in March 2019 for a few days. Although, I found the location to be perfect, and the owner extremely delightful, funny and and helpful, I found the Inn to be very disappointing. The outside is extremely deceiving, and not a good or true representation of what the Inn looks like on the inside. The place was not as clean as expected, and is really in need of a paint job, new carpeting, corking, TV's, etc. The carpet was old, worn, buckled and stained. Even the coffee cups were very old, and horribly stained with coffee rings. I could not distinguish whether the coffee cups were just old, OR dirty. The TV's are really outdated, and at least two decades old. The Inn just really needs a facelift, and a new set of coffee mugs won't hurt either. These suggestions could go a long way in making people feel more comfortable. It was not a horrible experience, but I will not be a repeat customer. read more

My husband and I just returned from a DELIGHTFUL stay at the Ashley Inn. Everything about our stay was pitch perfect. We aren't huge "bed and breakfast" people, but loved every minute of our time there. The Inn is ADORABLE---beautifully decorated. The complimentary breakfast every morning is a full breakfast with entree options--everything was just delicious. All of the personal touches you desire, but we were still able to maintain privacy. Fred was just helpful enough without every seeming pushy---he gave us tips on how to get to a good beach and even let us borrow beach towels, chairs and an umbrella. We were in one of the smaller rooms. It was very comfortable. The bathroom was INCREDIBLY small---the one drawback of the stay--but you'll notice it didn't prevent me from giving 5 stars. The Inn was far and away less expensive than almost every other we researched, but no less charming or comfortable. If we are ever able to return to Edgartown, we will stay there again in a heartbeat. read more

Good location and clean room are the only reasons I give our experience more than 1 star due to poor management and unprofessionalism. Had to call because no one was there to check us in on arrival. Charged $40 additional dollars than originally quoted price. Owner (Fred) than took a personal call while checking us in. We paid the other half of our balance on arrival (paid first half at booking). During breakfast we heard Fred training a new employee saying our party was the only one who hadn't paid our balance. Inquired about it on the way out and were told by a woman we were all set and would call if there was any issue. Well we were charged AGAIN. No phone call. read more

Just returned from 3 days at Ashley Inn. It was really terrific! Such a neat little inn to stay at. Our room was clean, the breakfast in the morning was very good, great to wake up to in the morning. Fred the owner was super nice and a very accommodating host. He had great suggestions on where to sightsee, and eat out. I would definitely stay here again. The price is right, not too terribly expensive and you get a lot for what you pay for. I highly recommend staying here! Edgartown is the perfect town to stay in, it's quaint, very nice, and a little more upscale than the other towns. read more

Just returned from Martha's Vineyard. Stayed at the Ashley Inn, owned and operated by Fred Hurley. This was a very nice bed and breakfast located in Edgar Town. Suggest all pilots give him a call as he is respectful of aviators frequency of visit and can often accommodate better room rates for pilots. read more
