This store looks quite small from the outside, but inside, it's a surprisingly generous space. At first glance, it's packed to the rafters with all things pink and black. Cue me walking in with a riotous multi-colored skirt, looking for a bright yellow leotard for an afro-Caribbean fusion number. I think I came in holding more color in my hands than was in the whole shop! I ultimately couldn't find a yellow leotard, but I found a pretty green that went well with the skirt. Their leotard selection is very ballet-centric, so an XL is a size 12, and they just don't have as many XL's as they do smaller sizes. This is not a discount shop, everything goes for suggested retail. While I was there, I got sucked in by their shoe section, and picked up a pair of half-soles that I had been looking at online. I was glad to have the chance to see them in person and decide on the right size. The sales staff were very helpful, if a bit bewildered. It is clear their primary clientele are your traditional ballet/tap/jazz students, so they really have very little experience with ethnic dance of any stripe. Madison's Dancewear is AMAZING! They are always SO helpful to make sure my daughters have everything they need for their competitive dance team and classes. At first glance from outside, I got the impression is more of a dance store for children. However, I walked in hopes that they might have something I might like enough to get for my daughter. Upon walking in, you see the little girl's section...very pink and black. They did not have much of a selection in plain or not so ballet like leg warmers. I am assuming that they were coming low in merchandise for certain items because I could not find my size (SMALL) in mostly anything that I thought I might consider buying. It's clean. The ladies were very nice and inquisitive. I might go there again but only if I have my daughter as they did not have much selection in urban dance wear. read more

Excellent service, very attentive, I went in for tap shoes for myself and I was afraid they wouldn't have my size in stock, but they had two different brands in my size to choose from! I could have found shoes cheaper online, but these are the kind of shoes you just have to try on in person. read more

We stopped by here while shopping in the area. This is not the closest store to me by any means but thought I'd save time by shopping here since I was nearby. Never again. We bought a pair of ballet slippers for my daughter among other things. 5 minutes into her first class, the strap broke on the shoes. We pinned it and finished class. My husband drove 45 minutes one way to have them replaced. He arrived home with mismatched shoes. I then had to drive 45 minutes one way to get yet another pair. The lady told me if it happened again to just sew it up myself! 3 hours of drive time wasted. read more

I went in for a pointe shoe fitting. The fitting process was fantastic-the lady must have had me try on 15 pairs of shoes (compared to just a few my at the other store I went to) trying to get me to find the perfect one. I found a pair I liked but she was worried they might be a little small and the next size up had been ordered that morning. She wrote my name and number down and said she would call when they came in. That itself was five stars. Two weeks after my fitting I hadn't heard anything so I called. No one answered at noon on a Monday, so I left a message with my name and number again asking if someone could contact me with when they would be in. I waited another two weeks and called again, again leaving my name and number. It's been almost 5 weeks now and no one has called me back. I'm giving up and going somewhere else since I really need new shoes. Editing to update: They called me after 7 weeks saying my shoes had come in. They had problems getting the size needed so it took longer than expected. I only wish they had called me to let me know why it was taking so long to get the shoes in. read more

If you're looking for anything dance or gymnastics related, this is the store to go to. They offer a wide variety of dance attire; leotards, tops, shorts, tights, skirts, etc. All of the staff are friendly and willing to help. They are great with shoe fittings and understand that it is ultimately up to the dancer and parents who are purchasing the shoes to make a final decision. I am not very familiar with dance apparel; however I was told by my daughter's dance studio to try this location. Although the sale rep was very pleasant, I felt rush and was not satisfied with my purchase. I was not given the right size or style leotard. I suggest others to go get their children's feet measured at this location, because they do an awesome job. Overall, the clothing is very overpriced and the service is not was welcoming. read more
