I was looking for some new birkenstocks and they didn't have the color I wanted in the size I asked for but turned out it was too big for me anyway (I guess my feet shrunk haha) and luckily had the ones I wanted still. I purchased a pair and had to order a pair. I really wanted the fuchsia Mayaris. They ordered them for me and had them shipped to my house for free. My mother and I were interested in some Birkenstocks and Vionics for European trips we were taking separately. We decided to stop by Birkenstocks & More and were ignored from the start. We walked around the small shop and were headed out the door when one of their employees hesitantly asked if we needed help. I turned around and explained that we had trips to Europe coming up and that we were looking for something a bit more fashionable than sneakers and that they needed to be comfortable. He rolled his eyes and directed me to their sales rack of cheap flip flops and threw me a pair to try. Never mind that I had been eyeing some of the Vionics in the front of the store... His demeanor was rude and my questions didn't help. It was clear that we weren't appreciated/wanted there, so cut him off, thanked him, and left. I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't normally write reviews, especially about shoes, but my recent experience at this store was very inspiring and not at all what I was expecting. I can't thank the staff enough for their help. My wife and daughter have worn Birkenstock shoes for many years. I never considered the brand as I thought they were just for women, and most likely a marketing thing. They told me that wasn't the case and informed me that they had shoes for men. At their prompting, I went to the store to get a pair of comfortable walking shoes that I could easily slip off and on to take casual walks of 1-3 miles. The staff asked me several questions about my needs and matched me with the correct shoe. It's been 2 months and I could not be happier with my choice. Performed exactly as they predicted they would. Fast forward to two days ago, when I called the store to ask about an insert that would help prevent hot-foot during my long bike rides. This problem presents its self at about a distance of 25-30 miles and is very painful. My research showed that this is a relatively common issue with older cyclists. The main cause is poor circulation in the foot due to inadequate support at the ball of the foot. I could not find inserts at my local bike shop that were designed for this particular area of the foot, so I called this store. The folks at the shop knew exactly what I was talking about and showed me two different options. I selected one and tried it out yesterday. Started out wanting to do 30 miles but wound up doing 40 because my feet were not nearly as sore or burning. I will continue to monitor this performance but so far I am elated with the results. I'm in residential sales and know there is a fine line of acting like a pushy salesperson and letting people look casually before approaching them which has always been my experience when I shop at this store. My mom was in need of a new pair of Brooks but was not able to come into the store. The store manager, Colleen, went out of her way to send us pictures of what was available as well as provide thorough information about each shoe. My mom was able to pick out the perfect pair and Colleen had them shipped in a jiffy. It was so nice to be treated so well and be given such wonderful personal customer service - a rarity these days. Called to inquire about a particular shoe and Don was rude from the moment he answered the phone. Instead of placing me on hold to assist a customer already in the store he just picks up the phone and continues to talk to that customer. After he finally got to me on the other end of the line I ask my question but before I could finish he cuts me off and tells me they do not make that shoe anymore. His response was so rude and nasty I had to let him know I didn't appreciate how rude he was. His response was " I get this question a hundred times a day! they don't make that shoe anymore". I then follow up with well I'm sorry you feel that way but I haven't called you a hundred times a day I called you once and you are rude. My daughter wanted a pair and we were going to buy online and we decided to come in and look. I'm so glad we did because we would have bought the wrong size. I also got a pair. If you need to find you initial correct size for Birkenstocks...this is a convenient place to go. Once you find your size, then I suggest you just order online. The service is the definition of "when I get around to you" or "look, someone else came in and you can wait till I finish talking to them", right in the middle of waiting on you. Very poor customer service! I bought A pair of Birkenstock shoes at a Birkenstock store while on vacation. After only two weeks the sole started coming apart. I was told at the time I purchased the there was a one year warranty. So I thought that I could bring them to a Birkenstock store for repair or replacement. The guy working on 8/14 told me "there is no warranty" and if I wanted them sealed it would be $15! He accused me of getting them wet which I hadn't Disappointed I went to my local Lauries shoes on Manchester. I showed him my shoes and before I could finish my story he said 'no problem these are defective ' and gave me a replacement pair. AWESOME SERVICE at Lauries! Despite being a previous customer who spent several hundred dollars in the store today I went into the store and felt as though my experience was so terrible that I will never go to the store again. I was greeted upon arrival. I had a few questions answered. However after searching for shoes I finally found a pair of brooks running shoes when I picked up the shoe and I asked the person working there if the new Brooks addiction issue was out the conversation that followed was very condescending and dismissive. I was told that they only carry the top shoe in that brand and that they didn't have my type at that store telling me to go to their other store then made me feel like I had no idea what I was talking about when it came to the version of the release. I've been buying brooks running shoes for years and was waiting for the new release to come out because I need to buy a new pair of those shoes. On 9/1/18 Very Mean Store Manager, Don; I went into Birkenstock & More on 12350 Olive. I wanted to buy some Birkenstock sandles locally, but wanted to make sure I wasn't paying more than what was advertised online. I walked in the store holding my phone looking for comparison prices. I asked the store manager Don McAd...for help with prices and models. He didn't offer much help at all. He was short and rude. When I asked what a number meant, he said "I don't know". I asked "what is the difference between all these?" He bluntly said "leather" from across the room. I tried to ask some more questions which he refused to answer stating he didn't want to help someone who obviously wants to buy online. After enduring very mean words from him, I told him because of his rudeness he was losing a sale. He smugly said no I'm not; I sell plenty of shoes and implied I wasn't going to buy anyway. This manager lost his temper and was yelling at me as I was walking out the door. I try to shop local as much as I can. I went out of my way to do so at this shop and was extremely disappointed and hurt at how I was treated. I hope the owner finds a better salesperson/manager. I immediately drove to Laurie's at the Galleria where I received exceptional assistance from a sales person named Dorita Wil.... She took the time to explain the difference between leather and synthetic microfiber. She answered all my questions. I immediately purchased the shoes for my daughter's birthday. I had a wonderful experience here. I'm 31 and healing from plantar fasciitis, so I thought I'd better get some supportive (grownup) shoes! I was nervous about going because in my experience, shoe stores like this can be pushy and intrusive. This was not the case here! There was only one guy in the shop, a very cool, laid back older man who literally brought out the same shoe in 6 different colors just so I could see how they looked on my foot! There was zero pressure, and in the end, I am happy I got to support such a great local business. He really knew what he was doing and it was the perfect environment to shop without being hassled or ignored. I found just the right pair in my size and have worn them for the rest of the day.
