I originally went to H&R Block to have my brother's personal taxes done, as well as the trust taxes. H&R Block told me that the trust owed over $31, 000 in federal taxes and over $8, 000 in state taxes. That didn't sound right, so I came to Zahn & Zahn for a second opinion. David Zahn took my case on, knowing that it was going to be complicated. Long story short, David Zahn saved the trust over $33,000. It takes over three months for Paul Scholz, the firm's owner to respond to a clients complaint! His business reputation is obviously not the highest priority. As my previous review states neither is the satisfaction of his paying clients. Your claim that including additional items to the accounting was precluded by constraints is ludicrous. Not including an outstanding loan to the estate which is by definition a Trust and Estate asset is incomprehensible. This information was requested by the two accountants that worked on the accounting. Since they both quit or were fired during the process should not be a concern of the paying client. When that activity affects the service that is being paid for it DOES become an major concern. Your lack of interest in the matter in any form then, in responding to my review, and to your business practice is obvious. Perhaps PERSONAL attention to what your employees do and what your ex-employees did might be called for. Instead of continuing to offer excuses be grateful that we did not file a complaint with the State Licensing Board of California regarding your firm's behavior and actions. Three months to reply! I again recommend that Onisko and Scholz not be retained for any accounting.

Jonathan Nguyen was unresponsive after several attempts made by the client to discuss the status of her tax return. It took 2 months to complete her basic Form 1040 tax return for tax year 2022. I reached out via an email to Jonathan; he hasn't responded. Maybe Jonathan only works with clients who have large Corporations. My advice: If you're considering getting your 1040 return completed here, look elsewhere. RNH, LLP and Jonathan are too busy and lack compassion for the elderly and smaller tax returns.
