Only writing this review because I wanted to warn everyone about how unreliable they were. Used Victoria for about 3 years and each year, I've been fooled to give her the benefit of the doubt because of her friendliness; but her service and follow-through not only lacks, but is NONEXISTENT. The last year I've hired her, she didn't even file my taxes resulting in THOUSANDS of dollars in penalty, which I caught pretty soon after. However, since she did not ever follow up with us, our taxes were filed over a year late. I've never dealt with such an unprofessional business in my life. Was debating taking her to court however, I did not want to waste any more time dealing with her. Would not ever trust her with my taxes or ever recommend her to anyone I care about. read more

Save yourself the headache. Went a couple years ago so Victoria can file my taxes. SEVERAL MONTHS later, I was informed that it was handed to her sister and she was out having a baby. Apparently, the sister didn't do her job and didn't pass it on to anyone else to complete. However, Victoria was supposed to file them. After all of this I started to have to chase her and got the run around for a couple of years. I paid in full almost $700 for a couple of returns and a transcript she wanted to request. I ended up getting her the transcript that she charged me for and never requested from IRS. One year became too late to file due to her not filing. At the end, they agreed to a refund, only if I signed an agreement. Agreeing that myself and anyone associated with me would not leave any reviews on any social platform or sue. I chose not to. Victoria can keep the money, obviously if that is her standard practice, she needs the money more. I found a location closer to home and the whole process was completed within a week for a fraction of the cost. read more

I can not begin to express how unprofessional this company is and the excuses that they will come up with to not do there job. Just respond you your customers! Follow UP!! Why are we the ones who have to hound you? The Owner needs to have taken responsibility for the fact that an ex employee did not do there job properly or process our Non Profit paperwork correctly.... in 2018!!!! It was never filed! We did not know this until we did not get our Non profit from the IRS for 2019 FY. Mind you we are calling and emailing this entire time. Many excuses from that person for 6 months...We were given the run around from 1/2019-7/2019. My husband would go to the store at lunch to try and get answers and would get excuses. When we finally got the 1st response from the owner a month later we were told again "They were working on it". Now its 2020 still no Non Profit. So for 2 months no word from owner 8/2019-10/2019 When the owner finally responses after months of excuses we have to wait another month to hear back. Then we wait longer since now it "In IRS hands". Here we are 2 months no word. No Update. We have called and emailed it has been 25 days. No response. We should be top priority since we have been ignored for a year and been waiting for 2 years. Unprofessional = Continuously ignoring emails, phone call. They are not responding to a matter that needs ATTENTION! We don't hear anything for months at a time then we email and don't get a response for weeks at a time. We physically go to the store and are given excuses. We call the company and don't hear back for days. This is not acceptable! How do we explain this to the IRS? How do we explain this to the companies at have donated to us 2018-2020? If we were able to just get our money back and find another company that will actually do the job it would be nice, but we are getting excuses every single time and not responded to. We have called the IRS and waiting for hours. We went to the IRS October 2019 and we have waited and made appointments. We don't know what to ask for since we PAID SOMEONE to do it for us! They can not help us since they don't have any information. It has been almost 2 years and we are still not able to finish our nonprofit. If you cannot do the job admit it and let us get it done by somebody who can. We no longer have the time to listen to more excuses. It's been 2 years. We have used these guys for a few years now and while at first everything was awesome, these last few years have been awful. Like previous reviews, the staff is very knowledgeable but VERY UNRELIABLE. We have been trying to get our tax return now for almost two months and NOTHING. They never respond to emails and only schedule appointments if you physically walk into their office. We were told after weeks of no response that our tax person was out of the country with absolutely no notice to us. This business is highly unprofessional and we are very disappointed. First time using a tax preparer other than turbo tax and it was definitely worth it. I didn't realize how much I was missing doing them myself. Uploading all the docs online was really simple with their portal and Victoria did an amazing job going through everything on our meeting. Definitely make sure to have all docs uploaded before the meeting if you want it to be smooth. I had to upload something I forgot mid call but she was very patient with me which I appreciated. And the snacks? LOL, what a joke. Check out the pictures from these "reviewers." The office is dark, closed AND the same white vehicle is in the reflection. A little odd that 2 different reviewers would be visiting New Stone while they're closed and the same cars are parked out front, but whatever. LOL. This should be another indication to you all that this woman is shady AF. Take note of the review dates here. I am updating my review as I finally paid off an old tax bill to the FTB (last month) that was due to another one of her screw ups from 2017. She entered the wrong amount one of our forms. We paid this woman to amend our 2016 taxes because I didn't list our interest in the right place and we ended up getting more than we should have. There was never a child care issue. Not sure what she's talking about. Anyhow, she supposedly amended it 5 months after hiring her to do so. Not only did we NOT get a return, but they still took the 5k out of last years return since she never completed the job. As far as 2017, she made a data entry error causing us to get bills from the FTB and IRS. We went ahead and just paid it since it was apparent that she had made the error. We chose to bite the bullet and not contact her about the interest and fees that were incurred. As far as not doing business with her at this point, the best thing that she could have ever done was tell my husband that she couldn't do business with us because of a "conflict of interest." Still not sure what that conflict of interest is, but my only guess based on her reply is that she chose to believe the lies of an ex-wife, which I won't even begin to try to defend here. Thankfully we found our current tax lady. She's sharp, charges a few hundred less, has processed our last 2 years error free, and doesn't accuse me of being envious of her looks...lol. Not that looks should matter in this issue, but someone seems obsessed with their image so I'll give mine...our new tax lady is prettier both inside AND out. The reason why I shared my experience is because we had 2 returns botched by this woman and I have plenty of documentation. The reason for the late review is that we finally had enough. We literally just paid for the final bill from this whole mess. My only hope through all of this is that perhaps this has been a humbling experience for New Stone and that Victoria has finally realized that word gets out about bad business practices. If you read the other reviews (which she still chose to ignore), you'll see that it was/is a pattern. If she's improved her service, great! This review is late in the process but I was first introduced to Victoria & her awesome team about 4 years ago. So I've been going to Victoria to have my taxes done for the last four years now. Each time I'm went my experience has been more than amazing. They have coffee, tea, water, juice, candies and other snacks for their clients in the office all nicely presented. I mean who would not need a bit of sugar to get their taxes done. I usually dread tax time and still do not like collecting all my documents. But I will say going to Victoria to have my taxes done has been the fun and pleasant part of tax time. Her staff has always been welcoming and my appointment times have always been met. She has always gone above and beyond during my tax appointments, sometimes even going over by 30 minutes or more to make sure we had everything done. Also about 2 years back she even gave great advice for starting my own LLC so that I can legit start my own business. It was the best decision I've made thanks Victoria and her team. Also it's nice to have a pretty binder full of all the documents showing that you are a legit business owner. This year I've even referred my husband to have his taxes done with Victoria and his experience was just as amazing. Each and every year my experience has never been less than great. I have been a client of New Stone for about 8 years now and each year I felt more like family than just a client. It's nice to have that kind of relationship with a local business, where people remember your name or just little facts about you. I used to like that feeling when I went to the supermarket and the cashier would remember me or eating at a local restaurant. What's even better, Victoria has given me calls reminding me it's tax time! I know I should remember, but maybe it's a mental block and I forget. She remembers all the financial details we've spoken about over the years and asks me all the right questions that I otherwise would have forgotten to mention. It's just something that's lost nowadays and that's why even though I moved a little further away, I'm willing to keep using New Stone and see Victoria for my taxes. She explains things so that I understand and is well versed on the ever changing tax laws. She has always been willing to help answer my questions and because of my schedule, has worked late to accommodate me. Also, she's low key funny which makes her more relatable. So if you ask me, in my personal experience, I would happily continue to use New Stone for my taxes. read more

I have the same problem and now Victoria is threading us by text and telling me and my husband are no longer to their office. My tax return haven't been done on 2018 and just found out last week, the person was going to do our tax return was left the company probably not in a good term because no one knows that my tax had not got done until I called them to pick up. They are going to charge for $25 for tax copy! (They didn't even know that they did file tax for me that time they said$25 to pick up) So wrong. They said I am an adult, I need to follow up if filed or not, not their job! Excuse me, is it their job to call the new client for their procedure or call the customer to pick it up if the my w2 is still with them and haven't done anything! Victoria was telling me over the phone that she doesn't understand my accent! So racist Now I can see that she has time to excused and made up more stories. My experience has been an absolute NIGHTMARE! One thing is certain, Victoria is very knowledgeable, but knowledge is no substitute for reliability. I reached out to Victoria at the beginning of March to handle my business and my personal taxes. My initial meeting was great, but nothing of substance followed. Her staff is completely incompetent and refused to deliver my messages or provide me with the meeting I continuously requested. And when I was provided a meeting, she did not show up. There was excuse after excuse, an extreme amount of unanswered phone calls and unreturned texts. The point came when the need to call her number back to back 7 times was necessary to get an answer. And even then, there was zero accountability and tons of excuses. On yesterday, April 30th, after 5 days of unanswered texts, she decided that she would not be able to move forward. I have NO CLUE what has been done and no proof that a tax extension was filed or that my business tax status was filed. I cannot speak for her capabilities, but her communication, it is the WORST! And I am afraid of the penalties and status of my taxes at this point. I really hope she finds better staff/support, but she will NEVER have an opportunity to put me or anyone I know in this position again. read more

I trusted everyone's review on here but I wish I didn't. The staff at this location are unbelievably rude. I was wondering how this is even possible if they have all these good reviews. I had used Vanessa and she didn't have the answers to any of my questions and she was a rude, pardon my language; BIT*C#. I have no idea how she got hired. It looks bad for Victoria's tax place because now they lost my business. I hope you all take my word and don't waste your time and money at this place. Victoria did excellent job in our tax return what was originally suppose to be owe to the IRS she brought it down to less than half of that amount. She is very detailed and helpful. My only complain was she never return my calls or emails until the very last minute of filing our return. I understand their office was busy due to tax deadline but a return call/email would have been nice to know the status of my return. But overall we are very happy with the end results. She has definitely gained a faithful client. Next year we will be there early in the year to avoid her busy schedule. read more
