She was my eye doctor for over 10 years, I wish I could have brought her to the west coast with me!

Dr. Moriates is terrific. All of the staff I have met over the years have been great. My wife and…read moreI have been patients for over thirty years. I remain a patient even though I now live two hours away.

As I type this, I'm seeing on the right side of the screen other one star reviews ALL talking about…read more"the receptionist". Funny enough, that's also who brings me here today! Yes, at 1:05 am, so irritated that I couldn't even sleep until I wrote this review. Yes, she has me that frustrated and upset. Why is a receptionist a fire wall between you and the doctor? The lovely woman I spoke with about 15 hours ago didn't want to allow me to see Dr. Kidd for a change to my prescription because I 1) couldn't be dilated (I am very sensitive to it and need to get a ride) and 2) I didn't want the eye numbing agent that is has an obscene amount of artificial yellow dye in it. I said, "Ok, well then maybe I should find a different doctor if what I'm uncomfortable with isn't OK?" She replied, "That probably would be best!" To whoever runs this practice - I would politely suggest you monitor your receptionists. You lost my ENTIRE FAMILY as patients with that one receptionist today. A receptionist who literally had me in tears after the call with how apathetic she was to me. (By the way. Do I *really* need all those tests? I'm 42. and If I'm not comfortable with something, why are you going to force me?) My apologies to Dr. Kidd. I would have been happy to come see you again.

So, I'm pretty much done with this "situation." I've done all I can do, outside of physically doing…read moretheir job. My review is on Yelp and another source (can't remember which.) and now I need to update it even further.) Here is the run down of what has been going on, in regards to the vision Centre in Westfield Massachusetts (NOT to be confused with the Vision Center at Walmart. Two VERY different entities.) I've gone to this establishment since I was 18. That is 17 years. SEVENTEEN YEARS. 11/07/2019 My glasses were "ordered" I originally MISTAKENLY said 11/27. My appointment was 11/07. My DAUGHTERS eye exam was 11/27. Regardless of when I went in, it's always quoted as "2-3 weeks for delivery") I spent over two hours at Vision Centre with my daughter, in westfield. It was the day before thanksgiving, I remember this vividly, because I was having a breakdown about HOW MUCH TIME I was losing for cooking. Maybe this is a run of bad luck. Told myself to be forgiving. We even joked around a bit. Clearly at that point, my glasses weren't in yet. I let it go for a couple weeks... especially since I had 3 other pairs of glasses to pick up, so I'd see them regardless. 2-3 weeks left me at dec 20. They're not in yet. But they're definitely closed until 1/3. Call then. I call January 3 and asked about them. Hmm. I'd give it another week, mail has been mixing our deliveries up. Tuesday!" Tuesday Jan 7 comes and goes. I was in Westfield on Jan 9 for another appointment so I stopped in to see about my glasses. I sit and wait for them to figure out what happened. Because they were not seeing my glasses having ever been ordered. I was there for a while. Like.... a WHILE. But still... I joked around and was trying to be kind. "Oh. Looks like (the glasses fitting guy) didn't do the prior authorization properly." I sit and wait for them to figure out what to do. (Glasses fitting guy) says "This was my Fault. I didn't realize I had to fax the prior authorization. Thought I could email it. I will order the lenses myself, and cut them myself. I'll have them to you in a couple days" (it was Friday, and he estimates Tuesday. They're closed Sunday and Monday, so his estimate was about 1-2 business days) He was VERY apologetic, seemed sincere. I again decided to be kind, and "let it go" Tuesday comes and goes. I call the FOLLOWING Tuesday (Jan 21). "No... lenses aren't here yet." (BULLSHIT. I know their shipping situation. My insurance lenses are ONLY delivered on Tuesdays. They take 2-3 weeks to ship. The lenses he was buying were "on the house" which arrive in 1-2 DAYS. It's been a week and a half.) So I began to get frustrated, and start thinking "how is this reasonable??" I call FRIDAY January 24. "Yup! Lenses are in! Can you pick them up tomorrow?" (So suddenly 1-2 days after I just called the lenses were in????i can't prove it... but I'd be willing to bet that it was -again- forgotten... and remembered when I called on Jan 21) "Yup. I'll be in." In that moment, I made the decision to call a new optometrist. Bullshit on their claim that the lenses weren't in, they ordered them immediately after my REMINDER call and were delivered on their normal lense (not my insurance) time table. They're open 9-12 on Saturday's. Very limited. I go in. "Name?" Give her my name. She looks on the desk. Looks in the cutting room. Rummages. "Did we call you?" I said "No. I called YOU." "OOOOH. Yeah. (Glasses fitting guy) isn't here. He's out with the flu. He has to cut them still. He will have them done next week." I literally felt the blood rush out of my face. Did you really just have me drive my ass here on a Saturday for nothing? You knew I was coming, and didn't want even warn me?! I turned around and walked out, stone faced. I knew I had made a good choice to get myself and my kids into a different practice. I figured in that moment "ok. I'll just get these when they're done, and never turn back" Tuesday, (Jan 28) I get a phone call. "He's out with the flu again" Today (Feb 7) I get a call. "Can you call me back? It's about your glasses." I tossed the idea of not calling them back around in my head for an hour or so. I ultimately decided to humor them. See what they wanted. "Soooo... the lenses are in. Butttttt the frames that you picked... they were discontinued. We have a brown pair, but if you don't want that, we will need you to come in and pick another frame." I don't think I need to say anything more.
