my small serving of Chicken Tikka Masala
    Tyler-Chanel H.

i had high hopes but this place wasn't good. wait times were misleading, they said 15 minutes and my fiancé ended up waiting an additional 30. the chicken tikka marsala portion was so small, and the sauce was very thin. the goat biryani has far too many aromatic spices to the point where it was overwhelming, and honestly i think the mint chutney was spoiled! we took a taste and had to spit it out! our "garlic" naan was also burned.

Chilly Garlic Noodles, Dry Veg Manchurian, chicken 65, chilly paneer (far back)

4 stars because the Indo-Chinese/fusion food is so good.. But unfortunately the service isn't as attentive and placing an order through the phone is difficult. We usually only order delivery but I was in the area and decided to take out and pick up. I didn't like that the host wasn't wearing a mask and one employee I saw briefly wasn't wearing a mask over their nose fully. However, all of our dishes came out very well. They were slammed today (Friday Night) and the food still came out as delicious as always. I recommend the chilly garlic noodles, chicken Hakka noodles, chicken manchurian (in sauce), gobi manchurian, and chicken 65. Also, all dishes come with jasmine rice if you don't want the noodles.

    Spring Dosa

First time I took my family there when they first opened and the food was good, so we decided to go there again. But this time the quality and the quantity have gone down significantly. My wife ordered Masala Dosa and I ordered Spring Dosa. I'm giving 2 stars only for the Spring Dosa. Masala Dosa had almost no filling, dosa size was really small. All in all disappointing.

After we were done eating so plenty of leftovers to enjoy!

We had lunch at Madras Chopsticks today. Please note there is a 15% dine-in service fee and 3% credit card transaction fees. We tipped despite these charges because the food and service were excellent. Food: We are foodies and love to try out one new restaurant every week. We rarely give a place 5 stars. But every single dish we ordered was excellent so this place definitely deserves 5 stars. We ordered chicken manchow soup (cup size), dry Chilli chicken, chicken manchurian w/ gravy, chicken Chilli garlic noodles and chicken schezwan fried rice. The spice level they recommended for us and our little girl was perfect. I grew up eating Indo-Chinese dishes in Bombay and in my 15+ years in the US, I haven't found a place with this good Indo-Chinese food. Service: The host (owner or manager) was warm and attentive. The African American female server was very warm and friendly loving on our little girl and also attentive. I know the pandemic has hit the restaurant industry hard. So it's always wonderful to see smiling faces. Price and portion sizes: the price was pretty good and the portion sizes were excellent. We took the picture after we were done eating so we have plenty of leftovers to enjoy. Parking: ample available in the plaza.

    Buffet Dinner

As a videographer, I often make recordings of solo dance debuts (Arangetrams and Rangapravesams) at Washington area theatres. A "dinner" usually follows the dance performance and a popular choice for catering is Madras Chopsticks. In fact, just last night, they catered buffet-style for the dance attendees at NVCC Ernst theater. Owner, Guru, personally supervised. I enjoyed their food presentation especially love the Idli Sambhar. See you all again soon.

    Butter Paneer Butter Masala

I ordered paneer butter masala mild. It tasted like sweet tomato sauce from a can. The paneer was pink and rubbery. The paneer did not have any flavor. The naan was very good which is why I gave it 2 stars. Rice was fine and cooked well. I will not order from here again.

To start with, they have a dedicated Jain Menu so we picked this place for some of the family members who can't eat onion and garlic. However, when we drove an hour plus to get here, they stated they're so "busy" that they may not be able to take any "Jain" orders. Well "busy" to them means less than 30% of the seating because the place was more than half empty. They stated after our questioning that they will try to get Jain orders for us so we all set down (group of 10+). Again, the place was mostly empty and had many tables that were already setup with napkins, forks, spoons, and glass cups. But when we set down, we had none of it. The waiter came and asked us if we were okay with plastic cups since glass ones will take more time as they don't have many right now. Again, they had more than enough on all other empty tables. Afterwards placing our order, we received may be 6 spoons and 6 forks and 2 napkins for 10+ of us. It almost seemed they didn't want us to be there. At least that's the vibe I got from all these things that kept happening. Another issues was that right where my wife was sitting, the ac kept dripping water from the ceiling. And while we were eating they were right next to us trying to get something out of some wooden box or working on some set of furniture. This could have waited until after we were done with our meals. Or at least they could have been courteous enough and just let us know that they had to work on something and will be making noises. To the end, lastly on the food, it was nothing too special to talk about. We did get a bowl of Rasam with a long piece of hair that my daughter caught and was disgusted with. The hair alone makes this a one star review. We came to this location for the first time since we had great experiences at the NJ location, but my experience was bad enough that I wouldn't even come back here.

The location is within the grocery store Lotte. There's no seating area, it's literally just a counter with a kitchen in the back. Yet, out of that small, humble, and clean kitchen they prepare some of the best Indian cuisine I've had. The pictures I took really don't do the food justice. The food was hot and visually appealing; unlike the pics I took. The colors of the food were actually vibrant; the palak paneer being a brighter green. The malai kofta was in a yellow gravy not the beige that my camera captured. The naan was steaming, moist and adorned w/fresh cilantro and garlic. The Aloo (potato) had a perfect peppery crust garnished with cuts of green onion. And the mushroom mafia had mushrooms and capsicum blended into a tasty Masala gravy. Everything was prepared and packaged well. You can order online, by phone or through any of the popular food delivery services. Don't think twice, this place is great at what they do and it's shockingly economical. They have some great bulk ordering options like the Family Package and a daily/weekly tiffin bundle. I hope they always stay true to their values, truly amazing food!

My chickpeas and okra were also delicious, if on the indulgent side. Getting manchow soup to go turned out not to be a great decision, as the crispy noodles had become soggy by the time I got around to unpacking my soup.
