    Fried Dumplings
    Kyle M.

Great food and great value! The service was very prompt and I felt like I was a guest in someone's home. The dumplings came out piping hot. The filling was very flavorful, the dough was delicate and perfectly fried, and the sauce gave had just the right balance. The pork dish has a beautiful brightness. There was an acidic punch and plenty of ginger flowing through the rich sauce and the earthiness from the mushrooms really helped ground the dish. The Kung Pao (not pictured) was also nice. I could have used a tad more heat, but overall a really nice plate of food. So glad to discover this little gem in our neighborhood and will definitely be back. VERY SOON!

Food: the food was really tasty and tasted fairly authentic. Definitely would come back and try new dishes. Everything is very pricey though Service: the food came out very quickly, granted we were the only guests there at the time Ambiance: nothing too special about the ambience, like any other regular restaurant

Combination lo mein (carryout, dinner portion)
    Rachel M.

I was disappointed by the service. Went in to order carryout. Explained I was a first-timer and craved noodles. The woman behind the desk suggested lo mein, and when I inquired about the other lesser known noodle dishes, she dismissed my curiosity completely; insisted I'd like the lo mein. I really disliked how she was unwilling to say a word more about any of the other 5+ traditional noodle dishes on the menu. Learned lunch portions are n/a on weekend and got the pricier dinner order of combo lo mein to go. Despite costing more, it seemed like a lunch portion to me. Not the best lo mein I've had, but certainly not the worst. Solid B rating. In their favor is the fact that the noodles were thicker and tasted like they were made in house - super rare for Chinese takeout in the US. Because the noodles are fresh, I'll consider giving them a second chance and trying a different dish. Hopefully the staff will be more welcoming during my next encounter.

They call this "twice cook pork". Lmao.

IF YOU DO NOT READ CHINESE, BE AWARE!! They will trick you with dishes that has same Chinese name but priced differently. You think you're getting one thing but if you say it in English, you won't get the same stuff.

$22 for this. Come on man.

Came here for Father's Day and was extremely disappointed. There were only two workers in the entire restaurant and about twenty customers, who were clearly overworked. As a result, we were not greeted at the door, nor were any of the customers who came in after us. In addition, there were tables that weren't clean and everything was slow. That's on you management for putting your employees in a terrible position. The food wasn't much better. The portions were small, and the prices were high. The tortillas we got were clearly store bought ones that you get at Safeway or another random grocery store. Disappointed and will not be back.

    Mapo tofu
    Alan Z.

The food here is great and it's authentic. I go with my parents frequently and they also really enjoy the food. The place is sichuan style though, so most of the stuff is spicy but the spicy dishes are usually their better ones. I really enjoy the mapo tofu, it's basically what I get every time we go. The tofu is soft and the sauce is great. I also enjoy the kung pao chicken, the sauce is also really well done and it's flavorful. My brother really likes the beef noodle soup but it's a little more spicy than the previous two dishes I talked about. We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty. Service wasn't slow and the food came out relatively quickly but not with everything at once. So the chef was making them one by one.

Our go to place! The owner is from Sichuan. She and the chef make authentic Chinese Sichuan food. I now go there often for below reasons: 1) the price is very good- after inflations for two years, they didn't increase their prices much; 2) food is delicious- they make authentic Sichuan food such as fired beef & pepper, 水煮肉片 spicy pork and intestines, 口水鸡spicy chicken, 酸菜鱼boiled fish and etc.; 3) the service is great too! They make sure guests are taken care of well.

This is a weekly Restuarant for our family. It serves authentic Chinese food. Our favorite dishes are Chong Qing spicy chicken and spicy fish.

    Pork red curry

This was my first time in Reston and I was at the Custom Ink store next door working as usual. I was pretty hungry by the end of the day as I had skipped my lunch. What I do when I am hungry? Yes, I look for restaurants near by on Yelp. This one was literally 0 miles away. My manager and I walk in around 4:30 pm which is an usual time for a meal. So I wasn't surprised that we were the only ones at the restaurant. Host gave us the menu. Menu is just spectacular! With pictures of food on all the pages, nice descriptions and lots of pages to read. So after a long and thorough discussion we decided to order Cinnamon beef stir fry and pork red curry. Both the dishes came with rice. I am not 100% sure that cinnamon beef stir fry was authentic Chinese. Well, our order arrived within 10 minutes of us ordering the food. We started off with some cinnamon beef. It looked very oily but after speaking with our host about it we found out that it was just the water from the steamed veggies that made it look more oily than the usual. Nevertheless, it tasted so delicious! I love the cinnamon taste on anything let alone the beef. It's definitely one of those appetizers you must try. Next came our pork red curry. When we ordered we thought this would be red hot spicy but with a little disappointment we found out it's more like pinkish than red and it was kinda sweet. This is only reason I gave them 4 stars. Otherwise, loved the taste, pork and beef both were very tender and easy on your palate. This was the first time ever I completed the whole meal at a Chinese restaurant. Almost all of my previous times I have had at least some leftovers but this time may I was either too hungry or the food was extremely delicious. I am sure it was the latter. Plenty of parking at this location as this area resembles a strip mall. It's a little pricier than the usual Chinese restaurant. Service is great!

What I enjoyed about Yo more than a place like Dumpling District (very similar in menu) was the quality and vibes of the service and atmosphere. The servers were very helpful to explain the dishes to my family members who needed some help. The food hit! The Spicy dry noodles are definitely what drew me to come here and they did not disappoint. My kids loved the pork chops. The seafood soup was loaded! The flavors were exceptional. For example, the Panfried Pork Bun used to be my favorite item here but they've changed the recipe significantly. The pork filling used to be a lot larger and juicier...but now when you break open the bun, the filling is so small that half of the bun doesn't even have any meat. 80% of the bun is just dough and it's not fried well and quite greasy. Everything overall was way too greasy, including the crueller and the dry noodles were swimming in oil. I did like the texture of the noodles, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by the oiliness of the broth it was sitting in. It's really sad to see this place fall short since it opened a couple years ago. I'm hoping that they can improve their quality of food as it's really gone downhill since opening.

I looked at the reviews, which are mixed, with some who really like the food but some who were naysayers. Still, we thought it was worth a try. One thing mentioned in a review is that there are currently only two tables in the place. Thus, we were glad to discover that they work with DoorDash. We placed an order this past Sunday. We ordered two hot and sour soups, one order of chicken with snow peas and one order of spicy chicken with garlic sauce. As an aside, rice comes with each entree. We didn't know that so we had ordered one side of rice. As for the food, the portions are large. We got two meals out of them. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The chicken with snow peas was a mild dish that came with an abundance of white meat chicken and a generous amount of snow peas. The snow peas had a nice crunch to them. The chicken with garlic sauce was mildly spicy and contained white meat chicken, sliced onions, and sliced celery. It reminded me of the same dish I had many years ago: same ingredients, same taste. My husband enjoyed his chicken dish. The hot and sour soup was okay. We've had better, but we've also had worse. If you like button mushrooms, they put a lot of them in this soup. We decided that we would order from them again.

This place has a robust take-out business (DoorDash drivers running in and out). It's great for foodies, but also a noisy place (not ideal for a first date). Free parking is easy in a strip mall lot in downtown Vienna between the CVS and Giant. On the plus side, it has authentic Szechuan-style dishes, including dried cauliflower (savory blend of flavors with a hint of peppercorn), the baby bok choy with tofu skins (to enjoy and refresh the palate), Lazi Chicken (fried chicken bits with peppercorn), and stir-fry green beans. My sons devoured the Lazi Chicken dish and wished that it had more chicken chunks. Small bowls of white rice are included. They also have American-style Chinese food (e.g., kung-pao chicken) but we only ordered a small number of Szechuan-style dishes. On the minus side, it's a tiny space with a limited number of tables (most accommodate up to 4 people). Noise level is high, but maybe that was because it was Saturday night. Overall, we'll continue to order takeout from this place! But we may visit again during off-peak hours.

I was here twice over the last two months. The first time, I ordered off the regular menu. The second time, I did the AYCE dim sum/tapas. Obviously, ordering a la carte, you'll get larger portions. It was all fantastic. The server was attentive and friendly. Dishes came out lightning fast. And the food itself was stellar! I'll let the photos speak for themselves. You can't go wrong here, especially if you're getting one of the AYCE specials (there's a similar one at Mama Chang's). I want to note though, three of the dishes have the same flavor profile, just different main ingredients: spicy dry fish, spicy dry cauliflower, and dry fried spicy eggplant. They use dry fried red chili and ground Szechuan peppercorn. If you like this, great! Just know it's the same seasoning across these dishes. I didn't take photos of everything, but if it's braised pork xxxx, get it! I will gladly return to this location or Mama Chang's for another AYCE adventure.

Located off of busy Centreville Road in Herndon, DMV legendary restaurateur Peter Chang opened this latest establishment in September 2024. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended for their Bottomless weekend brunch; and especially if you have a large group, as we did. There is limited parking right in front, but drive a bit further for a larger lot across the street within a 2-3 min walk. The interior is modern with the familiar high ceilings, exposed duct work, faux greenery, and Asian themed artwork. Combined with the choice of almost tropical like tables and chairs, the decor was giving off serious Malaysia vibes. When our server arrived, she explained that diners could choose items from EITHER the Chinese Tapas or Traditional Dim Sum menu, which is awesome since this allows for the culinary options of over 45+ items!!! Depending on the size of your group, I would suggest ordering 6-8 items at a time, since the plates are small (about a 1-2 person serving size). And TBH, I like this style of AYCE as opposed to the the usual long steam tables of food which just sits underneath heat lamps, and has tongs which have been handled by lots of people...yuck! And for the restaurant, it helps to limit food waste. Over the next 90 minutes (time limit for the AYCE brunch), we sampled so many items, but some of the standouts were: * Crystal Shrimp Dumpling (har gow) - wrapper wasn't too thick, and the shrimp filling was plentiful and had excellent flavor * Steamed pork and shrimp shu mai - very good version of a dim sum staple. * Beef Chow Fun - noodles could've had more "wok hei" flavor, but beef was tender and not too salty. * Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) - good amount of seasoned soup inside the wrapper with tasty pork filling * Salt and pepper shrimp - peeled shrimp was flash fried, but not rubbery. It was topped with a salty peppery crunchy topping. We had several rounds of this dish. * Black Sesame egg yolk bao - creamy and not too sweet eggy filling, inside the soft black sesame bao I will detract one star for the service, however. Im my estimation, the place is understaffed for the volume of customers. Water and tea was a bit slow to arrive (after 8 min of sitting down) and it was challening to flag down our server to order more items; hence the reason it's recommended to get multiple dishes at one time. But at the end of the meal, everyone was quite pleased and satisfied, most importantly, mom and dad enjoyed the experience. When the check arrived, our party of 10 had ordered 40 items. With tax and tip, the total came out to a tad under $400. Tbh, for the quality and variety of food, $40/person is a good deal. I can definitely envision Peter Chang's weekend bottomless brunch being a monthly occurrence for me.
