This is a relatively new Indian grocery store... it is big and has mostly everything you need. We used to go to the other stores but now prefer this place as it has less foot traffic the stuff here is of good quality and the staff is friendly too... the good part is that I can get in and out in 5 mins and don't have to wait in line... some veggies might not be up to the mark but otherwise no complaints.

The only reason I visit other Indian grocery stores is to buy poultry and meat since Madras Groceries is a vegetarian shop.

We really enjoyed the cheese, meat was decent, and spinach was good as well. As soon as you walk into the store, you smell the fatayer which was very nice. The service was okay- I was expecting a hospitable/friendly service that I normally experienced from Arab markets. I wish they sold manaeesh or sfeeha but when I asked they said they don't make them.

Because you can't get freshly baked Middle Eastern / Levantine pastries just anywhere in the Bay! If you've been to a Yemeni coffeeshop in the Bay Area, especially if it's in the East Bay, you might have seen this bakery's fatayer and manakeesh sold there since they supply a bunch of the coffeeshops. They bake all day and you can stop by at any given time and find freshly made pastries sitting on the table by the bakery section. In terms of selection, they generally have different types of fatayer (spinach, beef, chicken, cheese, more recently potato), manakeesh, lahm bi ajeen (soft flatbreads with a meat and tomato mixture on top), and chicken musakhan rolls. They don't always have every item available but they'll let you know what's in the oven. The pastries are 6 for $15 currently. They freeze well too. I've been here often and the customer service has always been friendly.

Super popular Indian grocery store in a very heavily Indian populated area. The prices are…read moreamazingly great/low and the selections seem more than adequate. I'm pretty sure the prices are what gets this place so busy. And the place isn't that big, so the aisles are really narrow and jam up pretty good. Actually that is my main gripe for this place that it is hard to move around in there. And when you get to the check-out line, it forms single lined to about 3-4 registers, so the line always looks long and intimidating. But it does move fairly fast. But it is right at the entrance/exit and in the same room as the produce room, so over 25 people could easily be in this small space at a time. Now those that are used to old world cramming, this will seem fairly non-issue, but to me, this is more chaos than I prefer to sign up for. But I have gotten produce here as the prices are always super nice, as well as spices, lentils and basmati rice. These are my staples here. They have a good cold case with dairy (yogurt galore up in here), and paneer. A freezer with interesting ice cream flavors that I wanna try. I didn't see a meat counter but there may be prepackaged stuff somewhere that I haven't run into yet. Also a back area where non-food stuff is like incense, statues, and other exotic imports/decor. I'll still stop in every now and then as I'm often in this strip anyways. Still a nice resource.

Variety of options to choose from, they carry every staple ingredient required for Asian cooking.read more

Bakery Review…read more Hands-down, the best bakery place in Fremont actually I would stay in the Bay Area. You must work with Sebastian. He is wonderful. He gets your vision and makes the cake the way you want to come out. The cakes are delicious and he makes them fresh and he makes them look so pretty. This reviews actually overdue. I got my son's wedding cake from them and it was the most delicious cake ever and I also got the engagement cake for my daughter from Sebastian. He is wonderful person. I love the way he makes her cakes and I just got one cake yesterday for my daughter's birthday and she loved it so you must try cakes from this place and have Sebastian turn it into a beautiful piece of art. I cannot even talk about prices. Their prices are so good. I priced the wedding Cake at every other Bakers and as soon as you tell them, the wedding price is 10 times more these people do not raise their prices. It is what it is and the quality and the workmanship of the cake is wonderful.
