Marina Grocery Store was always an average and older spot to shop for Asian/Chinese groceries. The…read moreseniors running the chain has retired and sold it. Most of their locations are now rebranded as Hashi Market which is an improved grocery store with a bit more variety and some Japanese items. Driving up to this location, you will still see the old Marina Grocery Store as they are transitioning to Hashi Market. At least the shopping carts do read Hashi Market on them. It looks like a legit grocery store and it's still very spacious with lots of selections inside. I saw more cash registers opened and operating during lunch hours. Convenient and walkable plaza. Cashiers are busy and occupied as usual. It does get crowded at times, especially in this plaza surrounded by high population residents and apartment units nearby. I still see elderly seniors walking around and walking home. The Japanese foods/snacks section is not bad at all. I definitely found some good items on sale today. Give Hashi Market some time to rebrand and pick up the pace. Hashi Market in Milpitas is also looking much better nowadays. This place is convenient is you're in the area for sure. There's plenty of good restaurants and nearby shops to browse around or you can also cross the streets to the next plazas all around. Looking good for now.

Delivery trucks parked in the passing lanes didn't help. Curious to view changes if any. The deli and eatery section isn't open. Only a travel agency occupies a vendor space. Entire left side isn't utilized. Big aisles with most shelves filled with goods at reasonable prices. Mexican, American, and Asian products sold. Medicines & hard liquors sold in front. Special section with products for Lunar New Year also in front. Sad to see only one register open. Didn't look for specials. May return at a future date when I have more time. Majority of shoppers were Chinese.

Cooked food was tasty and the pork belly was good quality. Would come again if in the Fremont area. A smaller store than H-Mart yet got what you need. Service was fast and accurate.

I'm not rushing back here for their premade food. I just feel I get cheaper and better quality at other markets. So it's hard to go here for it. The bulgogi kimchi fried rice was quite oily. A bit spicier than I want it to be but it's not burning hot which is liveable. The karaage was ok. Tartar sauce as a dip is a choice. The poke bowl felt like it could be better. The fish pieces were a bit haphazardly chopped. The seaweed was a bit slimy. But if you're needing to find snacks or frozen food or drinks, it's nice to have the option. nearby-ish. Also one of my bffs came here for a bunch of snacks and the associate there checking out her items noticed she was buying something that had a smaller amount where the larger amount item was on sale for the same price. I appreciate them looking out for you to get you a good deal! That's good service there. Everything is nicely laid out and clean so it's a lovely shopping experience but there is a slight smell of perhaps cleaning product which I guess is better than dirty smelling. Again not rushing back, but maybe I'd come back for the chips and such.

We really enjoyed the cheese, meat was decent, and spinach was good as well. As soon as you walk into the store, you smell the fatayer which was very nice. The service was okay- I was expecting a hospitable/friendly service that I normally experienced from Arab markets. Because you can't get freshly baked Middle Eastern / Levantine pastries just anywhere in the Bay! If you've been to a Yemeni coffeeshop in the Bay Area, especially if it's in the East Bay, you might have seen this bakery's fatayer and manakeesh sold there since they supply a bunch of the coffeeshops. They bake all day and you can stop by at any given time and find freshly made pastries sitting on the table by the bakery section. In terms of selection, they generally have different types of fatayer (spinach, beef, chicken, cheese, more recently potato), manakeesh, lahm bi ajeen (soft flatbreads with a meat and tomato mixture on top), and chicken musakhan rolls. They don't always have every item available but they'll let you know what's in the oven. The pastries are 6 for $15 currently. They freeze well too. I've been here often and the customer service has always been friendly.
