A time was HAD! My husband and I joined my cousin and her partner for brunch at Madre and we could not have been happier with the restaurant choice. As we all know, food and drinks at brunch will literally make or break the flow of conversation and great vibes!! And at Madre, thanks to the superb service, exceptional cocktails, and fantastic food - we literally were all extremely happy, had amazing conversation and left very very satisfied. If I had to give a shout out to a few of our favourites from brunch it would have to be: the Gambas Al Ajillo, the Brown Butter French Toast and the Octopus!! Yummmmm!!

Madre's been my favorite spot since I moved in the neighborhood. It's just that place where I can take anyone and will never be disappointed. Here's a list of my faves: Happy hour oysters - that mignonette tho...sooooo good... Cornbread madeleines - I come back for this over and over... Lamb - tender , excellent seasoning Branzino - perfect cook and all the accoutrements *chefs kiss* Go to spot. For sure.

We sampled nearly every item on the menu and loved it all, from the creative cocktails to the delicious appetizers, entrées, and desserts. The only item they were out of was the New York Strip. We had plenty of food without it, but would love to try it next time. We even ordered two of the chocolate soufflés to finish the night. It was a lovely evening of great food, wonderful service and good company in a trendy Greenpoint, Brooklyn restaurant.

Special braised short ribs- melt off the bone! I enjoyed the sweet potato puree but nothing special Croquetas - star or the show for us! Miso Brussels - good, a little sweet Moody lighting but cute place. Service was amicable.

Door is a little obscured because you walk in a different entrance but they have signs that make it easy to follow! I really liked the ambience inside the restaurant--slightly upscale trendy. We had a reservation for Saturday brunch and ordered a couple of things: - croquettes (3/5) good but wouldn't order again - hamachi (5/5) probably my favorite - chilaquiles (2/5) flavor was good but lacking depth - wagyu burger (5/5) this was also really good - Madeline jalapeño cornbread (4/5) surprised me as cornbreads just alright to me but I really liked the Madeline idea Overall, we liked the food here! Would come back again for the burger and hamachi. We asked for medium rare and it was definitely more on the rare side but it tasted so soft and tender/juicy we didn't mind and really enjoyed it.

Food, service, and ambiance are all great!! Food: -croquetas: really good and the sauce is excellent. Honestly can't go wrong with this. -scallop aguachile: really refreshing and very interesting that the scallop pieces taste like fish that I forgot it was scallop -striped bass: fish is well made and balances out well with the squash slices. -octopus: very delicious and beautiful presentation -papas bravas: the potato pieces were small, not like the cube sized potato chunks of most Spanish tapas papas bravas. This dish is good but very filling and on the heavier side. Ambiance is gorgeous and it's a perfect date night spot or with a group of friends! The restaurant also provided complimentary gazpacho which were very refreshing and good.

Everything from the service, ambiance and food were spectacular. We came here for a celebration and were delightfully impressed. First, the El Sancho and Birds of Feather cocktails were so tasty that we got a second round of the same. My only complaint is that the ice to drink ratio was disproportionate, there was a lot of ice filling the glass. Amuse bouche - pureed potato with possibly parsley oil (I think) served hot -- delicious strong start Shishito peppers w spicy mayo - delish Croquetas - spectacular that we ordered another round - crispy exterior with the inner black truffle, manchego and sunchoke perfectly melted and oozing Hamachi crudo with Calabrian chili, blood orange and crème Fraîche - another favorite dish Striped bass - not the flavors we were looking for Short rib - another star of the show For dessert, I was really looking forward to the soufflés, but alas, they were no longer on the menu. Instead we got the cheesecake with blueberry compote and the yuzu tart.

Great food to share with everyone! It's kind of dark in here though and service was fine as I recall.

Great cocktails and even better food. Been here twice now, both times a great experience. I recommend the octopus but everything is great.

When a friend told me about this spot I had no idea what she was talking about because I feel like it's kind of hidden but lol and behold this place is a hidden gem! The vibes are gorgeous and perfect for a date night or girls night. The wait staff was knowledgeable and quick, and the food was great! They gave us little shots of potato and leek soup that I wish I could have a bowl of, and the fish and octopus were standouts! I think this spot is also known for their cornbread Madeline's which were good but I wouldn't say it was mind blowing. I was obsessed with everything else though. The dinner menu is small and we almost tried everything but I would still go back again just to have the same meal.

I had a pleasantly good time at Madre - the experience felt elevated and all the food we received were very good. I would highly recommend both the hamachi and the Wagyu burger - they both just melted in my mouth! If I had to not order one of the dishes however, it would be the chilaquiles - kind of felt like eating Fritos under sunny side eggs. It was a great spot with a brunch menu that just opened - and I am glad I got to try many of the dishes.

Overall fantastic spot. The decor is stylish, spacious and the servers are friendly. A majority of the food was delicious! I think there were just some small improvements that could've been made. The biscuit under the eggs Benny were so difficult to cut through with a knife and fork that we were both sawing at it to get a bite! This was also a little bit too salty for our taste. The oysters were good quality but the mignonette they placed melted into the liquids and you couldn't really taste it. The fluke ceviche was delicious, love a good Leche de tigre. The cornbread madelines were good too but a little heavy so the whipped butter really balanced it out. The French toast is HUGE so keep that in mind. We struggled to finish it but it was good. On Sundays it's all day happy hour, so oysters are 2$ each! And there's draft beer and roses and spritz to complete your brunch. Enjoy!

Food A+ Service A+ Ambiance A+ It wasn't busy at all when I went but this place should be BUSY on a Saturday afternoon during peak brunch hours.

My favorite dish here is probably the mussels, great flavor and would probably go well with a glass of wine! The first time I came I tried a cocktail which was very good but because the dishes are very flavorful it might have been too much sugar/salt. The portions here are huge as well so I think for the price its very worth it. It's a cute restaurant as well with open kitchen so great for a date if you're sitting at the bar or if you have a group the tables are pretty big as well. Overall, it's pretty spread out inside which I really appreciate and I have found that it's pretty easy to get a reservation last minute. This place was the winner, and it was everyone's first time. We got in at our reserved time, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before our table was ready. Once it was, we were taken care of and quite frankly had no idea what treat we were in for! Let's start with the drinks. They have a drink on the menu called Celadon City. Who won the staff as a pokémaniac?! I had to get it just for the name. The rice vodka, yuzu, melon liqueur, and other flavors made it a fantastic, summery drink. My friends got the Smooth Landing & Smooth Talker ... One was a fantastic dirty martini and the other had the best bite of ginger. The food... Oh my God. We decided to split the breads and spreads and burrata... Each came with their housemade grilled focaccia, and the smoked paprika hummus and ricotta with chili honey? WHEW! The burrata dish with the sweet potato, pesto and tomato jam was a hit too. The menu didn't even say I'd have a balsamic drizzle on top! All of that was just the warm up... My gnocchi dish was spectacular. I'm not even a big mushroom person, but those oyster mushrooms and charred kale were a hit in the pasta. My friends' gigli pasta and mussels were great too. We ended up sharing a bottle of white wine as well, and the dinner was truly a 5/5. 0 I would absolutely go back, and it seems like their menu changes every now and then. I'm looking forward to the next time! Even if it's just for a cocktail.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!
