This place's claim to fame is having the best toutons (deep fried bread roll) in all of Newfoundland, and from what I've tasted, that's pretty accurate! What's best is you can eat them in almost any way - savory or sweet, as the "bread" of a sandwich or as a side unto themselves - pretty much however you like! My wife got their breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese, and bacon w mayo) in a touton, and it's now tied for my favorite way to have a breakfast sandwich; the touton makes the sandwich so much richer, crispier, and chewier, it's unbelievable! Whatever you order, make sure it includes a touton. You won't regret it! Also, their home-made jam is much better than anything you'll find in the nearby supermarkets. Lastly, make sure you bring cash or have a debit card, because they don't do credit cards!

A lot of people like it here but it's not my type of food. On the expensive side for what you get.

We arrived around 6 pm without a reso (oops!) they had a big bus tour coming in so looked like we were going to be out of luck but they offered take out, which was fair and kind! As we were looking at the menu they played with things a bit and were able to fit us in their cafe portion before a 730 reso. We soon realized that the co owner was taking care of us in this family run business. She was great at answering all of our questions and being SO attentive to our little girl. We started with the hummus and smoked salmon and it was incredible! Amazing flavor and all made from Scratch. For our mains we all shared the tuna poke and the braised brissket. Both dishes were some of the best we've had, ever but definitely the best meal of our time in Newfoundland. We also tried the Newfoundland martini made with NF tea and it was so good (and pretty too!) and all very fair priced too! The restaurant also has an inn which looked very nice as well. The whole place was clean, with a bright and modern feel while being very connected to the seaside feel of the area. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Out server was very polite and knew the menu very well. Every question was answered with a very polite, old world charm you don't see much anymore. Nothing like pride in one's job - bravo. Coffee refills come without being asked for and the nice carafe of lemon water is a nice touch. On over to the meal itself. The portions are generous and the ingredients right from the farm fresh. I was very happy with the frittata - the roasted potatoes that came with it were delicious beyond. Normally, you would not have desert with breakfast. Make an exception here - break a small rule in life just once. We had a bake apple cheesecake that was over the moon. Parking can be a challenge, but you should find a spot behind the grey building just across the road or up around the corner on the street.

It was all delicious. The waitstaff were nice & also efficient. I love the views in this restaurant. The decor is classy but homey. Wood floors, light walls, some artwork on the walls. I would definitely eat here again. Just a note, this cafe is only open for breakfast & lunch. Not dinner.
