Came here for food and drinks while passing by. I ordered a lemon drop which wasn't my favorite, but felt the food was decent. My group and I got appetizers. The potato skin nachos were pretty good, I loved their fried calamari (although I can't compare it to other restaurants). There were other appetizers that were flavorful as well. The one complaint I heard from my group was that they wished the chicken wings had more sauce with it. Overall a neat place to visit if you are in the area. The only reason I can't give this place a 5 star is the price just seemed a little too high for a Pub. The hummus plate was huge. I got that and then shared the taco salad with someone. The taco salad was okay, a bit too spicy for my taste and the ingrediants could have been better balanced. Good beer. Good food. Been here a few times and most recently treated myself to the flat iron steak that was seasoned to perfection and also very important, cooked exactly to the temperature requested. It is served with a unique cheesy mashed potato combination that works very well with this dish. Our server was very knowledgeable about the beer selection which is also displayed on video monitors at the bar and in the front of the restaurant. One thing if it is not summer, you will feel a burst of cold air anytime the door opens as much of the seating including the bar is close to the front door. Minor distraction though. A large group of us were staying at an Airbnb in this neighborhood and even more people met up at our place to go grab a very late dinner/drinks. It was WAY too many people and three of us decided break off from the group and come here while the rest went to the restaurant across the street (I don't remember what it was called). We made the right choice (they weren't happy with there meal or service). I was kind of surprised this place was pretty empty on a Friday night. Granted this neighborhood seems to cater to more to families, and not young people hanging out late on the weekends, but it was a large, clean bar. It had a British pub feel to it and I liked the decor. The three of us decided to split some sliders and Irish nachos. Both of these were tasty. The sliders were Kobe beef, and I thought they were a step up from usual bar sliders. The nachos were pretty good size and had a lot of toppings. Madrona Arms had a pretty good beer selection, but for a British style pub I thought it could have been better. the two beers I had were tasty. Like I said, this place was pretty dead when we came in so our waiter was pretty attentive. Went here for Saturday Brunch today. Brunch is served until 3 and we were there around 12:30. Sign outside says $6 Bloody Marys for weekend brunch. Inside the server and bartender both said no, they're $8. In most circles that is called "bait and switch" and is illegal. The least they could have done is apologize and offer the $6 price and then take the sign down for a correction. Nope, didn't happen. Affording it is not the issue, it's quality control. Been coming here for years, as it's my neighborhood pub. It used to have pretty decent food when it first opened, but seems to have gone down hill over the last few years. The quality of the food is poor, pretty much like a chain food restaurant, greasy fish n chips, lame salads, and yesterday some of my fries had dish soap or something chemical tasting on them. We were told they would be opening at 7:45am. for World Cup, we are all still waiting outside at 8:05 watching from outside. Doors are locked. Update: 8:10, finally let in, but staff too young to serve alcohol. Management/owners, If you really don't want to open for this game, or know how to prepare for an early opening, just say you're not going to open. We easily could have gone to a different establishment whose patrons, I'm sure, are already seated and watching the game. 2nd update: I need to commend the two young workers who were left to handle the customers. This place is a candidate for Gordon Ramsey's Hells Kitchen. I'm surprised at the reviews here that say the service is bad and the food is ok. I feel the opposite. We always have prompt service and get meh food. I stopped ordering the kid veggie plate because the cucumbers have obviously been frozen at some point, the celery is meh the carrots are ok. How bout some steamed or roasted veggies like broccoli or cauliflower? The adult food is also meh. I have ordered the hummus plate and BLT and sliders and mozzarella sticks, hamburgers, veggie burgers etc and all of it is just meh. Clearly frozen or comes from a big vat. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and sent it back because it tasted like perfume. What the??? The only reason I come here is because my son likes the mac-n-cheese and it's the only kid-friendly restaurant in the neighborhood that isn't Red Cow expensive. I desperately miss St. Clouds...it may have been a bit more expensive but at least I knew I was always going to get good food. read more

This is my local pub, and I walk here every few weeks for a Reuben or fish and chips. The food is always good, the portions are generous, and the prices are average. My husband and I found Madrona Arms after being placed on a waiting list for a nearby brunch competitor. Initially we were impressed that we were seated immediately and at the moment, it appeared that we were going to be served soon. After selecting a table, a female server with beautiful red hair gave us two glasses of water and asked if we wanted to order drinks. My husband ordered a Bloody Maria with bacon and a carafe of mimosa. After about ten minutes and still no drinks, we noticed other patrons being seated and served. Before we were able to inquire, the gal arrived with the Bloody Maria with a side of bacon (not garnishing the beverage but oh well). We asked about the mimosa and she said "oh yes I'll get that." Shockingly, after nearly 40 minutes we finally got our carafe of mimosas (our food was served before that). I really wanted to like Madrona arms but after paying $20 for a carafe that took forever to get there and having very slow service (even though others who arrived after us and served before us, allowing them to finish and leave before us), I won't be coming back. Seattle has a myriad of choices and this one won't be one we'll make again. To be fair I wanted to find a nugget of hope as to the slow service but there was nothing to redeem that. read more

Walked in and instantly felt the vibe. I sat down and the bartender took 5 min to hand me a menu and he just approached me in a awkward way. "What can I do for u?" I ordered some nachos and he came back with them couple min later. Nachos were ok.. he then came back to Order more food. I then wanted the steak strips and a heneiken as well. He looked not so pleased when I handed him my i.d. Anyway food came and while I eating my food, my heneiken never showed up. I constantly was looking at the bar to see if he was going to grab it. Never did. Instead it was better for him to be on his phone. After eating I wanted my bill, he didn't acknowledge that I pushed my food out to a corner to say that I was finished. I had to walk up to the counter and wait for him to say, "I'll be with u in a second bud" meanwhile in his phone. When I was handed the bill he goes oh I totally forgot about your heneiken. Offered a fake apology and then discounted my meal by $3. Seriously the most rudest service I have received anywhere. It doesn't hurt to put a smile on. Stopped in last night after the game for a cheeseburger and fries. and to see if it was an upgrade over the Madrona Alehouse. ... I will absolutely, definitely be back. The prices were similar, but I see other options on the menu that I look forward to trying. I am a huge fan of fish and chips, and I am reading several favorable reviews on them, so maybe I will have to sample em tonight. The bartender was very friendly, and great to talk to. And the girl who brought me my food was very nice too. I look forward to becoming a regular there. I saw a lot of TVs, so I may even try to catch a game there. I saw a great list of beers, and I don't remember them having hard liquor (aka real drinks) there last time around, so that is another improvement. I also saw that the indoor playground was turned back into a grownup area, so ... another improvement. Super excited to have this place in the neighborhood. The fish and chips are delicious, and the whiskey-crab-bisque-soup-in-a-breadbowl is some of the best soup I've ever eaten. Poor service. We came in on a Friday night, which to our surprise they weren't busy at all. But it took them 10 minuets to actually come give us menus, and take our drink orders. When we finally ordered our food, my corned beef and cabbage and my friends Reuben and fries came out lukewarm as hell. It took quite awhile to get our food and from the looks of it, the staff completely forgotten about keeping up on our food and eventually went back to see it was sitting out. It was such a terrible experience that's made us never to want to come back. Which sucks because it's so close to home and I'm fond of Irish bars. read more

My English breakfast sort of tasted off (something about the scrambled eggs?), and we found some mold in their jellies. I get that this place is new, but I'm not sure if we'll be back. We were in the area with friends last weekend for a wine tasting and stopped in for a bite to eat, it was pretty disappointing. The table we sat at wasn't clean and the server was very dismissive right out of the gate. Other than giving us silverware (which was scummy) and taking our order, he didn't come back to check back at all and it was hardly busy. Happy hour was over, there were maybe four other people in the bar area with another bartender so I'm not sure what he was so occupied with but it wasn't us. We just ordered a couple pizzas which, I'd rather have had take out pizza at home, it was terrible. It tasted freezer burned frozen? Like that you can taste the freezer in your mouth when you bite into it? (I know the taste well haha pizza bagels were life in my 20s don't judge) but this for sure wasn't fresh or anything I'd want to serve someone. He never came back so we got no refills on drinks and had to go to the bar to ask for the check. Maybe pass on the food here and just stick with a drink but I wouldn't expect good service no matter what you're looking for here unfortunately. read more

Service was great. Came in and the bartender didn't see me right away and as a result bought my first glass of wine. Turns out it was my only because I had to go and he refused to run my card just so I could leave a tip. I felt bad but really appreciated the gesture.
